The nail-shaped spice to nail your teeth problems

The first thing your mother could have done when you complained of toothache is place a clove on the swollen gum before calling the dentist for an appointment. This dried flower bud native to Indonesia spices up the culinary's and used in Indian ayurvedic medicines, Chinese medicines, western herbalism and dentistry. These spices which are worth equal to gold are a boon to the dentists. The oil extracted from clove flowers and known as clove oil, is a painkiller used majorily in dental surgeries. Tooth aches due to cavities and decay and tooth infection is reduced through the use of clove oil.

The carminative property of the spice is helpful in increasing the hydrochloric acid in the stomach and also improves peristalsis. A natural anthel mintic, the application of oil on the stomach also warms the digestive tract which is necessary in case of abdominal and digestive discomfort. Aromatherapy also uses clove oil as one of the antidote. Cloves are also able to strenghten the kidney. This magical bud is used in ayurvedic formulas to cure impotence and helps clear vaginal discharge.

The oil is also a part of ayurvedic beauty products as they have the potential to cure skin problems such as acne, pimples, irritations and burns. Cloves form a main part of the herbal tea and is thus considered a healthy beverage ingredient. Fatal diseases such as multiple sclerosis involve treatments with clove oil to relieve pain. However excessive use is not recommended especially for those with Pitta prakruti.

Thanks for posting this. When I think of cloves for toothache, I think of clove oil on a cotton ball, but it makes sense to just put the whole clove on your tooth. I'm suddenly feeling like drinking some clove tea.
