Are psychiatry and big pharma about to give up on meds?

"The psychiatric drug age may have reached its peak. Although mind-altering medications are being prescribed in record numbers, signs of a radically new approach to understanding and treating mental illness are emerging from the deep waters of neuroscience. No longer focused on developing pills, a huge research effort is now devoted to altering the function of specific neural circuits by physical intervention in the brain..."

Back not so long ago We Lobotomized so we could warehouse the mentally ill.
Then with better living thru chemistry ( Big Pharmie) we warehoused at home.
Now a new direction I just love whiteman science no stone unturned or no brain not eaten.

Life expectancy is significantly longer across the board in countries (western and eastern) where "whiteman science" is used. That's a confounding paradox that the liberal new age doubter has yet to confront. I'm not endorsing western medicine, my feelings are logically mixed, but your wholesale indictment does not hold up for a variety of reasons. I seriously doubt that you would turn down the help of honky emergency medicine if it was the only thing standing between you and oblivion.

"Whiteman science" provides Garberville Bill access to machine which allows him to broadcast his opinions to the world. Can't you see the miracle in that? Credit where it's due! smiling smiley

How do we get copper in us? Also, what about lifestyle? How can that not be a huge determining factor in the emergence of "mental illness?" Are we really surprised that people who take death defying commutes on insane highways to shtty jobs suffer from anxiety, insomnia, racing thoughts, etc?

I find Humboldt County to be interesting. No offense intended. Are you sure that the planet's dying? If it is dying, one reason would be the efficiency of white medicine that increases life expectancy wherever it goes. This in turn serves to over-populate the planet. Over-population is THE problem.

Yes HH, 7 billion plus is a problem because of the way we live and how much is consumed. But you could take all 7 billion plus and fit them within the county of Dade Fla Not much land mass with the heard bunched up overall. The planet will not substain with the cost to the envirment of meat production ect The problem is not so much over population, but more so the way we live. I go with the skin head Ghandis quote- There is enough to meet mans needs but not his greed. MEAT GREED OIL GREED all a death walk
Life style is the real problem. 12 million barrels a day burned on such a small planet GMO foods chemical waste radiation ect ect. Well maybe the @#$%& roaches will survive I here they can live with very high levels of radiation. maybe not all the way dead.

Are you sure that the planet's dying? you ask. On most fronts the picture is very clear Look at what science has to say on that Look at the sky oer La. is this birth acid oceans !
Have you read that here in Humbolt County 80 percent of the wildlife tested here has unsafe levels of rodenticides, pesticides
I also know this is not just a humbolt county problem.
You are right The planet is not dying, She is being murdered and the killers have names and addreses, So now its up to us DEAD or live

One more thing on life and death of this planet THE OCEANS THE ACID LEVELS will these new figures substain life. When the oceans die its over I know my oceans and they are crying. Wow I cant tell you what kind of roach ato censor in place. are we safe yet?
