I'm glad I decided to cut back through the jungle of spam this morning because I had missed this good post! You bring up the 64K question which is being tragically mishandled by the politically motivated right now. As I read it, at the time it happened, that woman who wants to sue for being quarantined and is causing a big commotion had a fever at the airport. Somehow that is getting lost in her story as are her ties to the Whitehouse and the CDC. There seems way too much work on controlling opposition happening and way to little though on the consequences for the whole world if Ebola continues into the major third world pestilential virus Valhalla hell hole capitals. We're close in approaching a heady level on the exponential Ebola curve.

The quarantined nurse is back home in Maine and still resisting total quarantine in her house as required by the Maine Dept. of Health.

She went for a bike ride, which is probably perfectly safe given that she's not showing symptoms. Is there a place to draw an un-fuzzy line here, that would ensure both public safety and human rights? The nurse says she would not take public transportation and she is open to travel restrictions. Is this where to draw the line? And what about returning to work?

All of them, the majority of conspiracy theorists, believe that ebola is really out there, that its airborne, even Alex Jones believes in it.

I don't. I think its hype and just like the AIDS hoax, there will be fake tests and medicines that kill everyone on them off, and they will be told its Ebola that killed them.

John, I don't think you realize that posting quotes and links to former threads, both of which don't have any real evidence, isn't going to convince too many people. Furthermore, calling people fools and idiots makes you come off as an angry lunatic, and considering your alleged goal is to "awaken people", how you come off to other people plays a pivotal role in whether or not you'll be successful in doing so. How do you know the information in your files isn't all disinformation? Maybe viruses aren't contagious, but name-calling and lack of verifiable evidence isn't going to help you in your journey of "awakening" people because of the way it makes you come off as a person. Would you be willing to spend a week or two in the same room with a few people who have polio provided you were able to continue your normal dietary routines?

You can rationalize this any way you want to, the reality is that it doesn't change the way you come off to other people, which again is going to play an essential role in whether or not you can awaken people, especially when you cannot even prove that your "evidence" is truly credible and not all disinformation. Why should someone believe you over anyone else? Would you be willing to spend a week or two in the same room with a few people who have polio provided you were able to continue your normal dietary routines?

Just curious. Has your intuition ever been wrong?

So as far as just this nurse is concerned, it seems you're saying you "don't know" if she's involved in a plot, but you admire her for fighting for her rights.

I'm thinking that maybe if we heard more from the nurses and doctors who are over there in Africa, if we saw more of them as humans, with feelings like our own, we could relate to all of them as more than just the mysterious "they".

This nurse is very bold and outspoken. We can see her working with Ebola patients and trying to help them.

Yes, when she had a fever, definitely it was right that she was isolated until test results came back. That just has got to happen.

According to court records, the risk period has passed for exposure to her roommate.

She has agreed to submit to "'direct active monitoring,' coordinate travel with public health officials and immediately notify health authorities should symptoms appear." Should be OK. Hope so.

There's another hearing on Tuesday. I wonder what that's for(?)

Excuse me but eff the court records. Where did they get their "expert" opinion on the "risk period" from, the notorious CDC? Hickox was in W Africa for a grand total of only a month and has only been back in the states a few days.

Also these strains of Ebola are rapidly mutating. We have no idea yet how that is going to affect "risk periods" in cold states as we enter winter.

I'm going to try to stay optimistic on this, although things are pretty messy right now in West Africa!

My understanding is that 21 days is the standard "risk period", but maybe we'll hear more on this later.

Good point about cold states. The cold will either kill it or preserve it. Mutations yes, but what are the options? We can't just keep someone in isolation forever without any evidence that a mutation has occurred to justify it.

On the Russian student: So far, there have been several "suspected" cases in the U.S that have been negative. Hopefully the student in Russia is negative too.

It seems to just make sense that Ebola could be passed through the air from a sneeze or cough if there are droplets, since Ebola is spread through body fluids. I don't see why that wouldn't happen. The test samples on doorknobs though were in a controlled environment, so maybe it wouldn't be too common for the virus to survive long otherwise on a surface like that. Hopefully there's been further testing...
