"This could explain why epidemics happpen in parts of the world where lifestyle and diet are poor." and puts as the bottom line in his quote... "Calorie restriction and long-term adherence to Mediterranean diet could prevent or manage age-related diseases and immunosenescence." Re: Diet, immunosenescence, and epidemics

Date: November 23, 2014 02:10PM I believe in human catastrophes. The word epidemic may be used with a preloaded meaning. For example, it is estimated that ~ 60 million americans died when the european colonist came (but thanksgiving has been transformed to a celebration. The europeans saved the indians) . Is that called an epidemic? Was the cause a weak immnune system (catastrophe) or a super powerful all mighty lethal virus (epidemic)? If people are driven fear they will be willing to believe in fear and suck up on the fear mongering TV shows about superpowerful deadly virus ariving to the US that are only cured by pharmaceutical vaccines. If people are not driven they would see things as weak immune systems conditions. Diet, beliefs, lifestyle, fear, are all part of those conditions. Where is the evidence? Somehow your emotions are tied to the immune system. It is not separate like in conceptual thinking. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/23/2014 02:12PM by Panchito.
