How to counteract the radiation from a CT scan?

Date: December 13, 2014 07:57PM I'll be going for a CT scan of the head in the next few weeks. I had one done about 5 years ago too.
Not really excited about it from a radiation perspective. I asked my doc for an MRI instead and he shrugged it off. Is there anything I can do beyond healthy dieting to ward off the harmful effects of the radiation? Re: How to counteract the radiation from a CT scan?

Do I incorporate these long-term or flood my body with them after the scan? Re: How to counteract the radiation from a CT scan?

If you can, taking all of these long-term would be a great idea in general for overall health, but for radiation exposure, I'd start taking them a few days before, right before you leave to get the scan and then shortly after right when you get home. Take them with a little bit of fat though, such as extra-virgin coconut oil or while snacking on sprouted nuts or seeds, as they are fat-soluble. Edited 1 time(s).
