Date: February 08, 2015 02:09AM This is very interesting. Clostidium difficile is a gram-positive rod. Gram-negative bacteria are more prevalent in those who's intake includes higher tannin levels.
I bet they were both eating a high tannin high carb diet (which the mother was unable to digest properly due to her illness) and once the mother received enough gram-negative bacteria from her chubby daughter to overpower the Clostidium difficile she became overweight, too, because now she was digesting all those carbs the tannins had previously not allowed for due to her overgrowth of gram-positive bacteria. Date: February 08, 2015 04:05AM SueZ, are you suggesting weight gain comes from carb eating? A ton of people have lost weight on a high carb diet, including me (even Tavis stated in his video you posted that one could lose weight on high fruit. He gave two options: high fruit or no carbs). As many people have noted, one shouldn't overeat carbs, however, in excess of one's calorie needs, if one wants to lose weight. I learned about some tough cases of weight loss from Metametrix labs, in which the people had high PCB levels that were interfering with their thyroid. Not every case is open and shut, despite what normally works for most people.
I think the key point of the article was this: "Previous research has shown that transplanting gut bacteria from obese people into mice led to the animals gaining weight." IT didn't say what the diet was. It seemed that the bacteria had a bigger role to play. I am so digusted by this fecal transplant idea. I am a broken record saying that they should try foods and herbal medicine and other modalities first. Re: woman experiences huge weight gain after fecal transplant

No. One of the things I'm suggesting (the one you homed in on) is that the woman's diet probably would have made her obese had she been able to digest it properly before the implant.
