OBSIDIAN

Obsidian is a natural form of volcanic glass , composed of various combinations of basalt, Andesite, Rhyolite, and Trachyte.
Basic colours range from smoky gray to red or reddish brown, blue and black
Obsidian comes in a number of colours and patterns including banded, snowflake (small white bursts resembling snowflakes), mahogany (includes streaks of mahogany coloured bands), rainbow or peacock (contains layers of iridescent colours) and sheen (colours such as gold, silver or blue sheen seen in certain lights) Obsidian also occurs in small nodules known as Apache Tears. Obsidian was so named from its resemblance to a stone found in Ethiopia by Obsius. It was used in antiquity for amulets and necklaces.

Obsidian is a stone without boundaries or limitations. It works extremely fast and with great power. Its truth enhancing, reflective qualities are merciless in exposing flaws, weaknesses and blockages. Nothing can be hidden from obsidian. It points out how to relieve all destructive conditions. Obsidian urges us to grow and lend solid support while we work toward the goal. It can bring negative emotions and unpleasant truths to the surface which will then enable you to examine them and then bring in love and acceptance. Obsidian provides deep soul healing. It can facilitate going back into the past and heal festering emotions or trauma that is still there in the present.

Obsidian is a strongly protective stone, forming a shield against negativity. It grounds you to the earth through the base chakra, absorbs negative energies from the environment, and strengthens you in times of need. It is helpful to highly sensitive people. It blocks psychic attack and removes negative spiritual influences.

A large piece of obsidian can be extremely efficient at blocking geopathic stress or soaking up environmental pollution, but its tendency to exposing the truth has to be taken into account. It is helpful for therapists and counsellors as it not only helps to get to the core of a problem, but it clears the negative energies that are released. Black or mahogany obsidian are suitable for this purpose. Place obsidian by your bed or under the pillow to draw out mental stress and tension, it may have a calming effect but it will also highlight the cause of the stress. The cause must be redressed before peace can return, this will resolve the problem permanently rather than just having a palliative effect. Apache tears or snowflake obsidian would be best for this task. It is essential to clean the stone under running water each time it has been used so that the stone won't retain the negative energy and send it back to you.

Obsidian vitalises the purpose of the soul. It eliminates energy blocks and relieves tension. Obsidian anchors the spirit into the body. This stone stimulates growth on all levels. It urges you to explore the unknown there by opening up new horizons for you to explore.

Obsidian brings clarity to the mind and clears confusion and restricting belief systems. It may do this by making it absolutely clear to you what lies behind the mental distress or disease. Once the confusion and belief systems have been cleared obsidian expands your consciousness and helps you enter the realm of the unknown with confidence and ease.

Obsidian helps you to understand who you truly are and not who you think you are, it will help to integrate these two perceptions into a whole. This stone helps you identify behavioural patterns that are outdated and assists in clearing them. Obsidian dissolves emotional blockages and ancient traumas, bringing a depth and clarity to the emotions. It promotes compassion and strength.

Obsidian's gift to your is the insight into the causes of disease. It helps with digestion. It detoxifies, dissolving blockages and tension, including hardened arteries. It reduces the pain of arthritis, joint problems, cramps and injuries. Crystal water is useful for all types of shock. It eases pain and stops bleeding. It increases the circulation and warms the hands and feet. It can be used to reduce an enlarged prostate.
Im here in Luc Yen Vietnam and I just scored some Awesome Green Obsidian, 25lb chunks or so I can feel the hidden powers. I love rocks, Loc Yen has it all.

I make stone soup raw by letting it sit overnight in cold water
No I was not thinking of eating Obsidian Glass Shards might not be good for gut.
The western Shoshonne Of Neveda often ingested rock for gut disorder though ive been told by thier Spirtial Leader Corbin Harney.
Most factory farmers growing mango use calsium carbide, know your sorce!
Rawpractice if you like mangos I think the sweetest best are here in vietnam. I cant wait for the two I bought for 40,000 Dong to be ripe so good. If you are a dieabetic never eat a ripe mango to much sugar

. BEWARE OF ARTIFICALLY RIPENED MANGOES

Some mango dealers use calcium carbide to make mangos ripen faster. This substance can cause health problems. Mostly, artificially ripened mangoes will have black and white patches on their skin, which would be shrunk.

Wrong on that note and humans including the western Nevada Shoshonne are animails

When rocks are consumed by an animal, the rock takes on another name – it becomes a gastrolith. If you haunt the paleontology section of your local library, you might be familiar with the connection between gastroliths and several types of dinosaurs. Sauropods often consumed rocks in order to aided in the digestion of food.

Ingested gastroliths served as substitutes for molars, particularly in animals without a fully evolved set of teeth that could chew food thoroughly enough for digestion. The rocks tumbled around in the digestive tract as they ate, separating and rending the flesh of birds, plants, or tiny fish nabbed by the predator.

Lots of animals eat rocks. Or at least they swallow rocks; they don't eat them in the sense of digesting them. This is true of many reptiles and birds that are alive today, and a few mammals such as seals and whales. It was also true of some extinct animals,

Would You Like a Side of Dirt with That? No animal eats rocks? all one has to do is watch on the farm in the wild
Today it is clear that geophagia is even more widespread in the animal kingdom than previously thought. Investigators have observed geophagia in more than 200 species of animals, including parrots, deer, elephants, bats, rabbits, baboons, gorillas and chimpanzees.
New findings suggest that ingesting soil is adaptive, not necessarily pathological

By Philip T. B. Starks,

In the fall of 2009 a group of biology students at Tufts University sat down together and ate some dirt. They ground up small clay tablets and swallowed the powder to find out, firsthand, what clay tastes like. This unusual taste test was part of a Darwinian medicine class taught by one of us (Starks). The students were studying the evolution of geophagia—the practice of eating dirt, especially claylike soils, which is something animals and people have been doing for millennia.

The standard reference guide for psychiatrists—the fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-IV)—classifies geophagia as a subtype of pica, an eating disorder in which people consume things that are not food, such as cigarette ash and paint chips. But as the students would learn, studies of animals and human cultures suggest that geophagia is not necessarily abnormal—in fact, it may well be adaptive. Researchers are taking another look at dirt eating and discovering that the behavior often provides people and animals with vital minerals and inactivates toxins from food and the environment.

EVOLUTIONARY APPROACH
One way to decide whether geophagia is abnormal or adaptive is to determine how common the behavior is in animals and across human societies. If many different species and cultures demonstrate the same behavior, then it is probably beneficial in some way.

Today it is clear that geophagia is even more widespread in the animal kingdom than previously thought. Investigators have observed geophagia in more than 200 species of animals, including parrots, deer, elephants, bats, rabbits, baboons, gorillas and chimpanzees. Geophagia is also well documented in humans, with records dating to at least the time of Greek physician Hippocrates (460 B.C.). The Mesopotamians and ancient Egyptians used clay medicinally: they plastered wounds with mud and ate dirt to treat various ailments, especially of the gut. Some indigenous peoples in the Americas used dirt as a spice and prepared naturally bitter foods such as acorns and potatoes with a little clay to counteract the acerbic taste. Geophagia was a frequent practice in Europe until the 19th century, and some societies, such as the Tiv tribe of Nigeria, still rely on cravings for dirt as a sign of pregnancy.

A common explanation for why animals and people eat dirt is that soil contains minerals, such as calcium, sodium and iron, which support energy production and other vital biological processes. The fact that an animal’s need for these minerals changes with the seasons, with age and with overall health may explain why geophagia is especially common when an animal’s diet does not provide enough minerals or when the challenges of the environment demand extra energy. Mountain gorillas and African buffalo that live at high altitudes may, for example, ingest earth as a source of iron that promotes red blood cell development. Elephants, gorillas and bats eat sodium-rich clays when they do not get enough sodium in their diet. One elephant population is known to continually visit underground caves where the animals dig up and eat salt-enriched rock.

Among human populations in Africa, those who have ready access to calcium do not practice geophagia as often as those deprived of calcium. The need for calcium may also partly explain why geophagia is most commonly associated with pregnancy: a mother needs extra calcium as the fetal skeleton develops.

Mineral acquisition does not fully explain geophagia, though. In an extensive review paper published in the 2011 Quarterly Review of Biology, Sera L. Young of Cornell University and her colleagues conclude that eating earth rarely adds significant amounts of minerals to one’s diet and, in many cases, interferes with the absorption of digested food from the gut into the bloodstream, sometimes resulting in nutrient deficiency.
[break]

If animals and people are not getting much in the way of dietary minerals from dirt, what is the benefit of geophagia? A second explanation—that eating dirt is often a form of detoxification—is gaining credence.

DIRT DETOX
The idea that, in most cases, eating dirt is probably a way to get rid of toxins could explain why people and animals so often prefer claylike soils to other kinds of earth. Negatively charged clay molecules easily bind to positively charged toxins in the stomach and gut—preventing those toxins from entering the bloodstream by ferrying them through the intestines and out of the body in feces. Detoxification might also explain why some indigenous peoples prepare meals of potatoes and acorns with clay—these foods are bitter because they contain small amounts of toxins.

In the 1990s James Gilardi, executive director of the World Parrot Trust, found support for the detoxification hypothesis in one of the few experimental studies on geophagia. While observing a flock of Peruvian parrots foraging on a particular band of exposed soil along the Manu River, Gilardi noticed that the birds neglected nearby stretches of soil with far more minerals. He surmised that the parrots were not ingesting soil for minerals but rather to counteract toxic alkaloids in the seeds and unripe fruit that make up a large part of their diet. Toxins prevalent in plants (and meats) often irritate the gut. To test this idea, Gilardi fed some parrots the toxic alkaloid quinidine with and without their preferred dirt and measured how much alkaloid made it into the birds’ blood after the meal. Birds that did not consume the soil had higher levels of quinidine in their blood, whereas a side dish of dirt reduced quinidine levels in the blood by 60 percent. Researchers have shown the same benefit in chimpanzees and baboons that supplement their diets with clay.

Further evidence of dirt detox comes from studies of bats. A 2011 study in PLoS ONE asked whether Amazonian bats visit clay licks—cliff sides of exposed clay—for nutrition or detoxification. Christian Voigt of the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research in Berlin and his colleagues captured bats of two different species: one that eats mostly fruit and one that eats mostly insects. If the bats were eating clay for minerals, Voigt predicted, he would find fewer fruit-eating bats at the clay licks because fruits have more dietary minerals than insects. But most of the bats he captured at the clay lick were fruit-eating bats—and many of them were pregnant or lactating. Voigt concluded that the pregnant fruit bats visited the clay licks to detox because they were eating twice as much to feed their babies, which meant twice the dose of plant toxins from unripe fruits, seeds and leaves.

Like bats, pregnant women may also eat dirt for its detoxifying properties, in addition to using dirt as a supplemental source of minerals. The first trimester of pregnancy plagues many women with nausea and vomiting, and cross-cultural studies document geophagia early in pregnancies in response to morning sickness. Women in sub-Saharan nations and in the southern U.S. have reported that they consume clay to alleviate this discomfort. Some researchers have proposed that morning sickness purges the mother of toxins that might harm the fetus. Perhaps geophagia and morning sickness work together to protect the developing fetus. Because clay can bind bacteria and viruses, it may also protect both mother and fetus from food-borne pathogens such as Escherichia coli and Vibrio cholerae.

Although the scientific community has only recently accumulated enough evidence to argue that geophagia is an adaptive behavior, people—and not just pregnant women—have used clay minerals as remedies for nausea, vomiting and diarrhea for thousands of years. In the age of modern medicine, pharmaceutical companies harnessed the binding properties of kaolin, a clay mineral, to produce Kaopectate, a drug that treats diarrhea and other digestive issues. Eventually the synthetic chemical bismuth subsalicylate—also the key ingredient in Pepto-Bismol—replaced kaolin, but the clay is still used today in other ways. Kaolin and smectite bind not only harmful toxins but also pathogens. Ranchers use clay when preparing livestock feed to inhibit toxin transmission, and some researchers have proposed harnessing clay’s pathogen-binding talents to purify water.
[break]

Of course, ingesting dirt can also be poisonous. Along with minerals and detoxifying materials, you might unintentionally ingest bacteria, viruses, parasitic worms, and dangerous amounts of lead or arsenic. Because of these risks, modern dirt eaters should stick with safe commercial products that have been heated or otherwise sterilized—but they should not be stigmatized for their behavior. Taken as a whole, the evidence argues that geophagia, in many cases, is not a sign of mental illness. It is a specific defense that has evolved to combat toxins and, possibly, ease mineral deficiencies. Although you may not be thinking about geophagia when you take vitamins or seek comfort from a swig of Kaopectate, you are in fact participating in the age-old practice of eating dirt.

Black Obsidian Stone Cleanses Negative Psychic Smog From Aura

Obsidian - Stone of Truth

Note: Crystals cannot be an alternative for medical attention nor can they be a substitute.

Formula: 70-75% SiO2+25-30% MgO and Fe3O4

Hardness: 5-5.5

Obsidian is a stone of truth, protection, integrity, honesty and grounding. This stone awakens the inner warrior and provides courage to enter our subconscious mind and rediscover our hidden abilities. Obsidian, in general, protects our mind from all sorts of negative energies. Because of its reflective, mirror-like surface, Obsidian works like a mirror in which we can clearly see our own mistakes and weaknesses. Moreover, this stone will provide assistance and insight into the possible ways of correcting those mistakes. Obsidian is also believed to block the geopathogenic radiation.
Physical Properties of Obsidian
obsidian stone

The color of Obsidian can be very different, from black, brown, and blue to green, silver, red and bright golden. It is composed out of 70-80 pecent of silica, SiO2 and about 20-30 percent of MgO and Fe3O4 (magnesium and iron oxide). Its hardness is not too high, ranging between 5 and 5.5 on the Mohs scale.

The largest deposits of this stone are in Mexico and India.

Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass formed in the process of rapid quenching of volcanic material. Silica (Rock crystal) comprises some 35 to 80 percent of this stone. The chemical composition of Obsidian is very similar to that of Granite, which was also rapidly cooled down which resulted in avoiding crystallization. In its red, brown or black color, Obsidian is a compact amorphous mineral with hardness comparable to glass. Cristobalite crystals are often associated with some of the spotted Obsidian varieties.
Metaphysical Properties of Obsidian

Obsidian is probably one of the most challenging stone when used in metaphysical practice. Obsidian has been used in the ancient times because it can be fractured conveniently to produce knives and sharp blades. Indeed, symbolically this stone works like a knife, penetrating into the heart of the problem, at times even without scruples from inflicting pain.

Obsidian is therefore a mineral one should show a certain amount of caution and respect to. If you feel that your growth is stagnant and that you need a strong impetus to move forward, there is no better stone than Obsidian. It will help you identify the blockages - the strata of your ego and the weaknesses and personality flaws of your being that prevent you from growing any further. Some aspects of this process will be painful, but the gain will be of great importance. There is also a great deal of pain in self-deception, so it is worth it to make this step.

Those who enjoy in the most intense life experiences will use Obsidian without reducing its sharpness. The other will use additional minerals, such as Rose Quartz or Aventurine, to mitigate the blade of this stone. Or some may prefer Snowflake Obsidian over Black Obsidian, as it has nearly the same properties, it works fast and intense, but with a hint of less intensity.

Obsidian stimulates our self-growth and gives us support during this process. It can bring to the surface some very displeasing truths. It heals the soul and is very good for performing past life regression, where it can heal traumas and negative emotions from our numerous past lives that we have been unable to release to this very day.

Obsidian connects us via the root chakra - Muladhara to the center of the Earth.
Obsidian in Crystal Therapy
snow flake obsidian stone

In crystal therapy, Obsidian is beneficial for improving peripheral circulation and for balancing digestion. If placed under the pillow or beside the bed, it draws stress and tension out of the body and brings calm. Obsidian may also provide insight into the root cause of the problems or diseases.
Types of Obsidian

The properties described so far can be applied to all types of Obsidian. However, some Obsidian variations have their own special metaphysical features.

Black Obsidian boosts self-control. It disperses selfish thoughts and intentions and helps let go of past love. Black Obsidian also brings the gift of foresight. Black Obsidian crystal balls are very helpful in meditation. When placed on the naval area, this stone helps ground the spiritual energies within the body. When worn on the third eye, Obsidian helps break through mental barriers. It can focus the emotionally scattered energies and bring emotional release.

Silver Obsidian promotes perseverance and patience. It is a perfect tool for crystal gazing. Silver Obsidian is of great use in astral and mental projections.

Bright blue Obsidian is a stone of intuition that can be used in fortune telling, past life regression and for induced trance states. It opens the fifth chakra - Vishuddha and aids extrasensory communication.

Green Obsidian helps cure the gall bladder and promotes heart health.

Obsidian should be discharged under luke-warm running water. It is best charged in the early morning or late afternoon sun.

Excuse my skepticism but are you sure obsidian has the super natural properties you keep describing on a raw food forum?

This is a stone, not a human mind!!!

We are in the 21 century. The stone age has passed, we manufacture flying crafts and went to the moon. We went inside the atomic particles to better understand their mechanism.

Our ancestors did not understand the forces of nature and would attribute natural disasters like famine or forest fire to punishment from God. Now we know better.

The US government has just doubled the rewards to find the ISIS leader. 25 millions just to give them clues where he is. No psychic in the world can help.

One could say that the ISIS leader is doing "good" (really?) so he cannot help reveal where he is. What about all these missing flights like MH370. Hundreds died and no one can find the plane for years. No psychic in the world can help. No stone can give them the clairvoyance.

These stones give no healing powers either. There are millionaires on death bed with terminal illness like cancer and they would give their entire fortune to be cured. Apple's Steve Job was one of them.

The plant and mineral kingdom provide us food to nourish our bodies so that we can bit fit to use our minds for higher pursuits like love, friendship, compassion, and other realization in the arts and science. That is their role, nothing else.

Science Proves That Human Consciousness and Our Material World Are Intertwined

RawPractical I can not give you new knowelege of proof. all I can do is share what others have said. science has checked in on this subject.

meditationNikola Tesla said it best, “the day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence. To understand the true nature of the universe, one must think it terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” Swami Vivekananda influenced Tesla’s work, an Indian Hindu monk and chief disciple of the 19th century saint Ramakrishna. Tesla was also influenced by other Vedic philosophies.

Science works best when in harmony with nature. If we put these two together, we can discover great technologies that can only come about when the consciousness of the planet is ready to embrace them, like free energy.
Intention of This Article.

I want to make it clear that my intention of presenting this information is to demonstrate that thoughts, intentions, prayer and other units of consciousness can directly influence our physical material world. Consciousness can be a big factor in creating change on the planet. Sending thoughts of love, healing intent, prayer, good intention, and more can have a powerful influence on what you are directing those feelings towards.
The Science

For quite some time now, physicists have been exploring the relationship between human consciousness and its relationship to the structure of matter. Previously it was believed that a Newtonian material universe was the foundation of our physical material reality. This all changed when scientists began to recognize that everything in the universe is made out of energy. Quantum physicists discovered that physical atoms are made up of vorticies of energy that are constantly spinning and vibrating. Matter, at it’s tiniest observable level, is energy, and human consciousness is connected to it, human consciousness can influence it’s behavior and even re-structure it.

“Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real” – Niels Bohr

“The hypothesis of modern science starts from matter as the basic reality, considering space to be an extension of the void. The phenomenon of creation of stable cosmic matter, therefore, goes beyond the scope of present science. The theory also neither pinpoints the source of cosmic energy that resides in the structure of matter, nor can it explain the cause of material properties that are experienced with the behavior of matter. These are, in brief, the limitations of modern scientific theories at the most basic level of the physical phenomena of nature. When a scientific theory cannot cope with the question of the very origin of the universal matter and energy, how could it ever grasp and explain the phenomenon of consciousness which is evident in living beings?” – Paramahamsa Tewari (0)

The revelation that the universe is not an assembly of physical parts, but instead comes from an entanglement of immaterial energy waves stems from the work of Albert Einstein, Max Planck and Werner Heisenberg, amongst others.
1. The Quantum Double Slit Experiment

The quantum double slit experiment is a great example of how consciousness and our physical material world are intertwined. One potential revelation of this experience is that “the observer creates the reality.” A paper published in the peer-reviewed journal Physics Essays explains how this experiment has been used multiple times to explore the role of consciousness in shaping the nature of physical reality. (2)

In this experiment, a double-slit optical system was used to test the possible role of consciousness in the collapse of the quantum wave-function. The ratio of the interference pattern’s double slit spectral power to its single slit spectral power was predicted to decrease when attention was focused toward the double slit as compared to away from it. The study found that factors associated with consciousness significantly correlated in predicted ways with perturbations in the double slit interference pattern.(2) For visual demonstration of this experiment, click here.

“Observation not only disturbs what has to be measured, they produce it. We compel the electron to assume a definite position. We ourselves produce the results of the measurement.” (2)

“A fundamental conclusion of the new physics also acknowledges that the observer creates the reality. As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental” construction. Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote: “The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter. Get over it, and accept the inarguable conclusion. The universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual.” (R.C. Henry, “The Mental Universe” ; Nature 436:29,2005) (1)
2. Government Sponsored Psychokinesis Experiments

Psychokinesis, also known as PK, encompasses the possible influence of human consciousness on the behavior of physical or biological systems or processes, and comprises several loosely related classes of effect characterized by different scales of energy, forms of manifestation, replicability and statistical behavior. (3)

In 2004, a United States Air Force research project declassified a paper titled Teleportation Physics Study, authored by Eric Davis, Ph. D., showing that psychokinesis and other parapsychological phenomenon have been subject to rigorous research and documentation by several researchers and institutions. (4)

One particular example was the work of professional aerospace engineer Jack Houck, along with Army Colonel J.B. Alexander. They were responsible for holding a number of PK sessions, where attendees were taught the PK induction process and how to initiate their own PK events using various metal specimens like forks and spoons. Individuals were able to completely bend or contort their metal specimens with no physical force being applied whatsoever. (5)

These events were held for government science advisors and senior military officials. They took place at the Pentagon, at officers’ and scientists’ homes, and at U.S Army Intelligence & Security Command locations all over the world. Commanding generals, colonels and more were always in attendance. What was witnessed by all was spontaneous deformation of mental specimens, which caused “a great deal of excitement” amongst those present. (4)

“We will need a physics theory of consciousness and psychotronics, along with more experimental data, and discover the physical mechanisms that lay behind the psychotronic manipulation of matter.” (4)
3. The Global Consciousness Experiment/Random Number Generators

The global consciousness experiment is an international, multidisciplinary project between multiple scientists and engineers.(7)(8) It originates from Princeton University, in conjunction with the Institute of Noetic Sciences. It collects data constantly from a worldwide network of physical random number generators located all over the planet. The data is transmitted to a home base, which now has more than 15 years of data stored in it.

“Our purpose is to examine subtle correlations that may reflect the presence and activity of consciousness in the world. We hypothesize that there will be structure in what should be random data, associated with major global events that engage our minds and hearts.”(7)

RNGs are systems created by Princeton researchers that are sensitive to and respond to the intentions of individuals, in other words, the influence of consciousness. They also respond to marked shifts in attention occurring in their environment. Peaks of order are commonly recorded during moments of shared attention and emotions. RNGs also responded, and had the largest effects ever recorded by the Global Consciousness Project during major world events, like 9/11. (6) Other large recordings have occurred on presidential inaugurations, tsunamis and the deaths of public figures. These findings stirred deep questions about the nature of consciousness and it’s connection to our physical material reality.
You can read more about RNGs here
4. NSA/CIA Remote Viewing Experiments In Conjunction With Stanford University

Remote viewing is the ability of individuals to describe remote geographical locations up to several hundred thousand kilometers (even more) away. This concept has been proven, demonstrated and documented a number of times.

In 1995, the CIA declassified and approved the release of documents revealing its involvement in the program that lasted for more than 25 years. (10) (9)

Ingo Swann, one participant in this experiment was able to view specific rings around Jupiter before NASA was about to take pictures of it with their pioneer 10 craft. This was documented in the research. Individuals were also able to view objects and people in separate rooms that were completely blocked off from their present physical location. The fact that some have/ had the capability to project their consciousness elsewhere from their present physical location is quite amazing.

These projects occurred for decades, while some of the mainstream world continued to view them as “pseudoscience,” the Department of Defense takes them extremely seriously, and keeps them extremely secret. This program was part of a program called “STARGATE” and was unexpectantly shut down. (11)

You can read more about remote viewing here.
5. Thoughts and Intentions Alter The Physical Structure of Water

Experiments over the past four decades have investigated whether human intention alone affects the properties of water. (12)

This question has been around for a while in the alternative medicine realms, because the human body is made up of approximately 70% water. According to the Institute of Noetic Sciences, researchers have suggested that intentionally influenced water can be detected by examining ice crystals formed from samples of that water. Consistent results commonly point to the idea that positive intentions tend to produce symmetric, well-formed, aesthetically pleasing crystals, and negative intentions tend to produce asymmetric, poorly formed and unattractive crystals. (12)

If thoughts and emotions can do this to water, just imagine what they can do to us.

Many people point out that this experiment was a fraud, but it’s been conducted multiple times and replicated by some highly respectable individuals in the field of science. The paper I am citing here is from Dean Radin, who has published multiple research papers in peer-reviewed journals. The experiment was conducted at the Institute for Noetic Sciences and Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Psychology at Sonoma State University. (12)

You can read more about this experiment here

This also correlates with a study that examined the role of intention and belief on mood while drinking tea. It explored whether drinking tea “treated” with good intentions by monks would have an effect on mood more so than drinking ordinary tea. The study was done under double-blind, randomized conditions, and results proved positive. (13)
6. The Placebo Effect

It’s been well documented that we can change our biology simply by what we believe to be true. The placebo effect is defined as the measurable, observable, or felt improvement in health or behavior not attributable to a medication or invasive treatment that has been administered. It suggests that one can treat various ailments by using the mind to heal. Many studies have shown that the placebo effect (the power of consciousness) is real and highly effective.

A Baylor School of Medicine study, published in 2002 in the New England Journal of Medicine, (1) looked at surgery for patients with severe and debilitating knee pain. Many surgeons know there is no placebo effect in surgery, or so most of them believe. The patients were divided into three groups. The surgeons shaved the damaged cartilage in the knee of one group. For the second group they flushed out the knee joint, removing all of the material believed to be causing inflammation. Both of these processes are the standard surgeries people go through who have severe arthritic knees. The third group received a “fake” surgery, the patients were only sedated and tricked that they actually had the knee surgery. For the patients not really receiving the surgery, the doctors made the incisions and splashed salt water on the knee as they would in normal surgery. They then sewed up the incisions like the real thing and the process was complete. All three groups went through the same rehab process, and the results were astonishing. The placebo group improved just as much as the other two groups who had surgery.

A report by the United States Department of Health and Human Services in 1999 has also underscored the efficacy of the placebo effect, this time with treating depression. The report discovered that half of severely depressed patients taking drugs improve compared to the thirty-two percent taking a placebo. That thin margin hardly seems worth the many dangers and side effects associated with antidepressant use.

A 2002 article published in the American Psychological Association’s Prevention & Treatment by University of Connecticut psychology professor Irving Kirsch titled “The Emperor’s New Drugs,” made some more shocking discoveries. (source) (source) He found that 80 perecent of the effect of antidepressants, as measured in clinical trials, could be attributed to the placebo effect. This professor even had to file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to get information on the clinical trials of the top antidepressants.

7. Teleportation

“It became known to myself, along with several colleagues both inside and outside of government, that anomalous teleportation has been scientifically investigated and separately documented by the Department of Defense.”

A paper published in the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) in September 1981, in the journal Ziran Zazhi (Nature Journal)tilted “Some Experiments on the Transfer of Objects Performed by Unusual Abilities of the Human Body” (Shuhuang et al., 1981) reported that ‘gifted children,’ were able to cause the teleportation of small, physical objects from one place to another.(4) Objects included watches, horseflies, other insects, radio micro-transmitters, photosensitive paper and more. The participants never touched the objects beforehand. The experiments were done under both blind and double-blind conditions, and the researches involved came from various colleges and sectors of the Department of Defense. This is an exceptional case, because it was deemed necessary that an unclassified Intelligence Information Report be prepared for public viewing.

More research was done by the Aerospace Medicine Engineering Institute in Beijing, in July of 1990. It was published in the Chinese Journal of Somatic Science (Kongzhi et al., 1990: Jinggen et al., 1990; Banghui; 1990). This study reported several experiments involving high speed photography video taping, which was able to capture the transfer of test specimens like nuts, matches, nails, pills and more through the walls of sealed paper envelopes, sealed glass bottles and tubes, sealed plastic film canisters and more without the walls of any of these containers being breached. All of these experiments reported using gifted children and adults to cause the teleportation of various materials. (4) You can read more on teleportation here
8. The Science of The Heart

The heart generates the largest electromagnetic field produced in the body. Researchers have analyzed the spectrum analysis of the magnetic field that’s produced by the heart, and results have shown that emotional information is encoded into this electromagnetic field. So, by shifting our emotions, we are changing the information that is encoded into these electromagnetic field that are radiated by the heart. This can impact those around us. When we are feeling emotions of compassion, love, gratitude and understanding, the heart beats out a very different message.

9/10 And Beyond

There are numerous studies documenting how consciousness and our physical material reality are intertwined, in so many different ways, with many different examples like the ones listed above. I am going to leave you with a long list of selected peer-reviewed journal publications on Psi research. This involves anomalous processes of information or energy transfer, telepathy and other forms of unexplained phenomenon that have observable, repeatable outcomes in the lab.

Click HERE to continue your research on how consciousness and our physical material world are interconnected.

It appears consciousness can play a very important role in changing our planet. Just having these thoughts alone could contribute to the massive shift in consciousness that’s occurring. Find your inner peace, be peace, be love, acting and living your life from such a place plays a very important role in changing the world.

Nobody is disputing that "consciousness and our physical material reality are intertwined"

I believe in the spiritual phenomena, I do pray, I do meditate regularly.

But the claims your are making on a stone are of a different implications.

Can you explain in your own words how a stone can be used as food or help us have clairvoyance?

When I am hungry I reach for a carrot or some fruits I know my body will be getting some nutrients and protein. This is proven, measurable, noticeable immediately while I am eating.

Can you explain how obsidian does the same for nourishing the body or for bringing to us clairvoyance. I am not interested in articles pasted in from other writers, just your own words, your own understanding.

I can not explain. as I said. I can tell you this one instance.
1969 I broke my jaw in five places from a crash while in us army. knocked out all my top teeth jaw wired back together. Ive had tingling sensation and a little pain constant since injury, while out digging obsidian in lake county ca usa using a large crowbar to free rock I sent shards about a half dozen into my chin, had eye protection but nothing else The shards were very small. months later they came out.
a few months after that all tingling sensation pain stoped. Was it the obsidian or placebo efect sycosmatic?? I do not know. But it made me wonder after what I have read elsewhere if it was related to Obsidian or not after all those years of sensation. Can you explain prayer spiritual phenomena? your own words? Dont get me wrong I also pray.

Healing with Stones

What is it?

When you heal with a rock or a crystal you use the stone’s energy to change a person’s energy. Whether that be a person or a room, or another object, certain stones convert energy by cleaning it or changing it to a more positive form. If a person is sensitive and can perceive the effects they may sense a shift in their emotions or physical state (such as becoming calmer or more energized), some feel the effects like a buzzing or a calming sensation within their body. If you can think of a person who tends to calm or excite others with his or her presence, that would give you a sense of how a rock could effect you.

How does it work?

A healer can use a stone to heal you by sending healing energy through the stone to you, allowing the stone to convert that healing energy to something that increases the effects of the healing energy. Or the healer can lay the stones on parts of your body and allow the stone to shift the energy or your body in that area to a healthier state. (This second method is similar to the principal of two pendulums. When two pendulums are swinging side by side out of synch with one another, they will eventually shift so that they are swinging together in synch. In the stone healing method the energy of that part of your body will shift to be in accord with the energy of the stone. And the healer may help that along by performing energy work.)

In a shamanic practice, everything is acknowledged as being alive. However you want to interpret this, within this idea is the fact that shamans have respect for all things, and acknowledge that every object has some type of effect on an individual. Using certain objects a shaman can effect your health positively. Since the earliest stages of humankind stones have been used to create positive and healing effects on an individual.

For the more Scientifically Minded

While there are no scientifically proven reasons (none currently well established) for why rocks could effect some one’s health, the idea is not as far fetched as the more analytical person might think. It is a scientific fact that we all emit energy, usually this is called radiation. It is a fact that each object on the earth emits this energy, rocks and crystals as well. It is also known by science that when energy passes through rocks or crystals the object changes the energy. Light is energy and what passes through the other side of a crystal has been changed. Quartz are used in a wide variety of electrical applications, such as in watches (quartz movement) and in your computer (called semiconductors) – because of its great ability to effect the energy we call electricity. So the idea that a rock could change energy is present in science.

As for the energy that a person emits, it has been shown shown scientifically that we emit different energy depending on what we are doing. There have been studies that show different energy or frequency coming off the brain depending on whether we are studying or doing something very active. (Called brain waves.) Slower when we study, faster when we are being active. So perhaps we have underestimated the effect of our emotional and mental states on the radiation (energy) we emit.

The other bit of science is that energy of one speed (frequency) will often effect energy of another speed by combining to make energy of a new speed. So if a stone is emitting energy of a certain frequency and the stone filters/changes the frequency that we are emitting, it is conceivable that those changes could effect our own body. Perhaps putting our whole system/body in a more relaxed state because it is now resonating with a energy that is healthier.

We know from medicine that an individual’s state of mind is considered crucial to recovery and healing. So if there are more healthy frequencies for our body, and we can shift to those frequencies through the use of stone healing – then it is conceivable that we could become healthier through the use of these stones. It is something to think about, and suggests that science does not necessarily contradict the idea that a stone could improve someone’s health.

Why do some people seem to be able to sense the energy of stones

I have heard many people talk about feeling stones energies, and many people say what the heck, I’ve don’t feel anything…

Just the way once you are familiar with a loved ones voice you can now pick their voice out of a crowd of people. You can tune into the energy of rocks and crystals. Initially the sensations will be faint. Once it is recognized the sense can be sharpened, until it comes through very clearly. Like eyes that are adjusting to the dark we begin to perceive energy more clearly.

Often times, because we as a society tend to be dismissive about sensing energy we never develop these.

“I believe in kindness and karma—which could make me a Buddhist. I believe in mystic healing and crystals’ powers—which could make me a witch. I believe in truth, honor, and forgiveness—which could make me a Christian. I even believe in the existence of past lives and that each and every one of us is watched over by guides from the other side—which, to some, would make me totally woo-woo squared

Thanks for sharing your experience.
That is just one case of healing and you are not sure if it was from the rock or other source.
The body is constantly working to repair damaged tissues. Some pains we feel in our eyes or leg for months will sometimes stop on their own because the body has finished its repair work, sometimes it is because there was one missing nutrient or mineral that was acquired by other means.

On the issue of energy, everything has energy, an aura that it emits, just like the stars, everything is surrounded by its own energy field, we are connected with every thing else in the universe. But this does not mean that just because a stone has energy, it can affect my aura, the stone will change my thinking or even bring me healing. Its effect at that level is very minimal. Just like when you walk into a dark room and turn the light on, the light will register on your skin, your eyes but it cannot heal you or make you think differently.

The master within you is your mind, your ability to think, dream, decide the course of your life, not the intention of a stone.

Think of a car driving on high speed on a highway, the wind, the flying birds, insects can collide with the car but they cannot stop it. The power of the car is way too much, the same with your thoughts, they are way too powerful when compared with the vibrations of a stone.

Everything has life within it in the universe, even the stone goes thru cycles of growth and regeneration but the human mind, self consciousness is the highest thing in the universe beside God.

Focus on your education, the things your mind can do, do not waste your time with what a stone can bring you beside its natural beauty.

Varieties of Scientific Experience: Carl Sagan on Science and God
“If we ever reach the point where we think we thoroughly understand who we are and where we came from, we will have failed.”

:RawPracice I have a feeling you have read Cosmos by Sagan, Everyone should read it. I think he speaks for many of my thoughts on this magical mystery Tour of EARTH

Carl Sagan was a scientist, but he had some qualities that I associate with the Old Testament. When he came up against a wall—the wall of jargon that mystifies science and withholds its treasures from the rest of us, for example, or the wall around our souls that keeps us from taking the revelations of science to heart—when he came up against one of those topless old walls, he would, like some latter-day Joshua, use all of his many strengths to bring it down.

[…]

He believed that the little we do know about nature suggests that we know even less about God. We had only just managed to get an inkling of the grandeur of the cosmos and its exquisite laws that guide the evolution of trillions if not infinite numbers of worlds. This newly acquired vision made the God who created the World seem hopelessly local and dated, bound to transparently human misperceptions and conceits of the past.

[…]

Carl wanted us to see ourselves not as the failed clay of a disappointed Creator but as starstuff, made of atoms forged in the fiery hearts of distant stars. To him we were “starstuff pondering the stars; organized assemblages of 10 billion billion billion atoms considering the evolution of atoms; tracing the long journey by which, here at least, consciousness arose.” For him science was, in part, a kind of “informed worship.” No single step in the pursuit of enlightenment should ever be considered sacred;

You know what else is a fantastic stone?

Tourmaline.

True story.

Another thing. Without stones. We would be in a sorry state. Where do people think we get our MINERALS from? That's right. Stones that have been pulverized by nature... sooner or late... they end up in our foods.

raw practicalist

<<Excuse my skepticism but are you sure obsidian has the super natural properties you keep describing on a raw food forum?

This is a stone, not a human mind!!! >>

Do you know what the difference is between a stone and the human mind?

I'll give you a clue. It is a three letter word. It begins with an E... it ends with an O... Btw, it has a G in the middle.

What do you call a man who travels to another country to further explore a subject that he is passionate about?

I love that you hit it on the big head. yes Im hip to Tourmaline. We are stone and water stardust.

Let's put it simply. Cosmos is required reading for everyone who lives on this planet. It will give you a sense of perspective that nothing else can -- no lofty ideology, no omniscient religion, no inspiring quotations can explain things quite as clearly as Carl Sagan's treatise on science, reality, and the nature of things in this universe. Mind-bending and dazzling, and best of all, uncluttered by confusing scientific terminology. A book worthy of all the positive superlatives I can think of bestowing on it.

We have held the peculiar notion that a person or society that is a little different from us, whoever we are, is somehow strange or bizarre, to be distrusted or loathed. Think of the negative connotations of words like alien or outlandish. And yet the monuments and cultures of each of our civilisations merely represent different ways of being human. An extraterrestrial visitor, looking at the differences among human beings and their societies, would find those differences trivial compared to the similarities. The Cosmos may be densey populated with intelligent beings. But the Darwinian lesson is clear: There will be no humans elsewhere. Only here. Only on this small planet. We are a rare as well as an endangered species. Every one of us is, in the cosmic perspective, precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another.

Gemstone Articles
Tourmaline General Information

Tourmaline is one of the most significant gems for metaphysical use, and it includes a wide variety of different forms, colors and energy spectrums.

Tourmaline can be found on every continent but fine tourmaline gems are considered rare and come in high prices.
Tourmaline History and General Information

Tourmaline made its way into the commercial gem industry in 1876 when George Kunz sold a green tourmaline gem to the famous Tiffany and Co. In the ensuing years, tourmaline gained great popularity as a gemstone, and its metaphysical properties have made it a favorite to metaphysical collects and practitioners.

Tourmaline is found in a wide variety of colors from black to bluish-black, dark brown, yellow, medium brown, blue to neon blue, lime to dark forest green, red and reddish purple, yellow, pink, and colorless.

Tourmaline is the official birthstone for October as adopted by the American National Association of Jewelers in 1912. It also the traditional birthstone for October, the stone for the Zodiac sign of Leo, and the accepted gem for the 8th wedding anniversary.
Sources of Tourmaline:

Tourmalines are mined everywhere in the world including Africa, Afghanistan, Africa, Australia, Brazil, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, Siberia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, the USA, and Zimbabwe.
History, Folklore and Legend:

Ancient legend says that tourmaline is found in all colors because it traveled along a rainbow and gathered all the the rainbow's colors.

The name tourmaline comes from the Sinhalese term “turmali,” which was the name given to all colored crystals on the island of Sri Lanka at that time. This all inclusive name indicates the inability of ancient gem dealers to differentiate tourmaline from other stones. In fact, at one time in history, pink and red tourmaline were thought to be rubies. Pink tourmaline tends to be pinker in color than ruby. However, their similarities in appearance are so strong that the stones in the Russian crown jewels believed to be rubies for centuries, are now thought to be tourmalines.

The Chinese have use tourmaline for centuries to carve and engrave figures. Some are even still on display in museums, a testament as to the durability of the stone.

For centuries, various cultures have had different beliefs about what virtues the tourmaline can bring to the wearer.

Ancient ceremonies in India included the use of tourmaline as a tool to bring insight and help in the discovery of that which is good. It also served as a tool to make known who or what was the cause of troubles or evil deeds in one’s life. The gem was also highly valued by alchemists who, perhaps because of it’s pyroelectric effect, believed it to be related to the philosopher’s stone. This was said to be the substance that would grant enlightenment, give power over spiritual affairs, reconcile opposites and change base metals to gold. In modern times, the stone is used by tribes in Africa, Native Americans, and aboriginal groups in Australia as a talisman that protects against all dangers.

Throughout history, many “rubies” were actually misidentified spinel or rubellite (red tourmaline). It is only relatively recently, with the advent of modern gem testing and identification methods, that experts learned to discern differences between the similar looking red stones.

For example, the 352 carat Timur Ruby, a giant gem with a history from the 1300’s AD which is now part of the British crown jewels, was thought to be a ruby. Then, in 1851 it became clear that the gem was actually a red spinel. Another ruby-imposter in the British crown jewels is the 170 carat Black Prince’s Ruby, a huge bead-shaped red spinel that is set as a centerpiece in the Imperial State Crown.
Tourmaline Metaphysical Properties:

Tourmaline is said to be the stone with the most metaphysical properties.

Tourmaline is believed to strengthen the body and spirit, especially the nervous system, blood, and lymphs. It is also thought to inspire creativity and was used extensively as a talisman by artists and writers.

Blue Tourmaline (Indicolite):

The soothing blue color promotes a calming effect, and offers relief from stress. Indicolite brings joy and happiness. It promotes harmony, tolerance and kindness.

Blue tourmaline also a higher awareness level and a better ability to communicate. Blue Tourmaline is an advanced healing tool and can aid one in releasing emotional stress one has held onto allowing one to create a future and move on from the past. It is also said to help relieve headaches and migraines.

Blue tourmaline is rarer than black, pink and green varieties and is found in Brazil, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Africa.

Black Tourmaline:

This crystal is ideal for psychic protection for anyone who must work in challenging places or circumstances. It helps protect one against destructive energies and ‘bad vibes’.

Black tourmaline is also recommended for ridding oneself of negative thoughts, anxieties, anger and ideas of unworthiness. This stone also particularly helpful in relieving stress in their lives or work area because of its linear flow of energy.

This stone is found in Nepal, Brazil, Africa, Pakistan and in the USA.

Pink Tourmaline:

This stone is most associated with love and other matters of the heart, and is the purest of the heart chakra stones. It is a representative of the feminine or yin energies and is unsurpassed as a gemstone in healing old emotional wounds.

This stone helps stimulate feelings of joy, happiness, love and relaxation. This stone is one of the strongest stones in helping to calm oneself and relieve stress in your life.

Many of the finest pink tourmaline crystals have been found in Pala, California, but they are also found in Brazil, Africa and Afghanistan.

Red Tourmaline (Rubellite):

This stone is mostly referred to as Rubellite due to its close similarity to the color of the Ruby.

Like pink tourmaline, this is also a very strong heart chakra stone and is very good in healing relationships and emotional wounds in ones life. It can help one overcome fear of stability, abundance, survival and safety. Rubellite can assist one in finding courage and strength to face and change challenging situations.

This stone is found in the USA, Africa and Brazil.

Green Tourmaline:

This is a cousin stone to the pink tourmaline and closely represents the heart chakra. It is the masculine counterpart to the feminine energies of pink tourmaline and can help enhance stamina and vitality in physical activities and can evoke courage and strength.

This stone is very useful in grounding oneself to the physical world and helps one overcome fear and to be able to confront situations in their life and to overcome bad habits.

This stone is found Brazil, Afghanistan, Pakistan, United States and Africa.

Watermelon Tourmaline:

This stone generally has a pink center and green ring around the outside. These are one of the most sought out tourmaline crystals.

Watermelon Tourmaline have a combination of the energies of pink and green tourmaline and thus amplifies their effects.

his stone is considered the stone of Joy. It brings positive energy to one’s life and alleviates stress and heals past emotional wounds.

Watermelon tourmaline can be found in any area where green and pink tourmaline. The finest crystals however are found in Brazil and Africa.

Brown Tourmaline (Dravite):

This stone is named after the Austrian mineralogist Drave. This stone generally opaque and when cut closely represents the smoky quartz.

Dravite is a good grounding stone and also helps one to confront the reality of things as they really are. It helps bring hidden and suppressed feelings and situations to the surface to be confronted and dealt with. It also provides a soothing and calming effect as well as courage to handle these situations and emotions without stress.

Most Dravite is found in Tourmaline deposits of Brazil.

Tourmalated Quartz:

This stone helps balance all of the chakras. It is very similar to crystal quartz but is generally found with bits of black tourmaline running through it and can be found in a cloudy opaque form to crystal clear.

This is one of the most powerful stones in clearing ‘bad vibes’ of all types and repairing the auric field in ones space. Tourmalated Quartz amplifies the energies of black tourmaline that reside within it. It rids one of negative energy and provides the strength to confront and handle situations one has ignored or suppressed. This stone also helps with depression and stress about bad news and situations one has come across.

This stone is mostly found in Brazil.

There is so much magic in the night, in a sky full of beautiful stars. My attention to the wonder of the cosmos has been slowly building from reading Carl Sagan's beautiful words. As Sagan says, Astronomy is a truly humbling experience, as you realise just how small you are the grand scale of the universe. Part of an ongoing series This series is part of a never ending series on space.

The good thing is that mothers know better.

They do not feed their children with stones.

They give them regular nourishing foods.

They make sure their babies do not swallow stones.

They enroll them into school.

They read them good books.

They teach them love, compassion, and understanding.

The take them to the doctors when they are sick

They do not apply stones to their wounds.

It is only at raw food forum that stones are elevated to the super natural.

You are correct. I have seen for myself growing up in Africa pregnant women eating clay.

Its a good thing mothers know better raw practical like you say. can you say flip flop

But the question is should these rocks be part of a regular diet or just used as medicine when necessary.[/quote

B - The Personality, Ego Structures and Holes
The Personality

The personality is a blend of authenticity and ego. Our true nature expresses itself through them both, in varying proportions (depending on our current mood and our overall level of development):

Authentic Personality: is the true and unlimited aspect of our personality – the parts that are not bound up in ego structures. It is Self-expressive, radiant, generous, compassionate and loving. It comes to the fore when we are relaxed, present, sincere and speak from our heart.
Ego Personality: is the inauthentic, limited aspect of our personality – the parts that are bound up in ego structures. It is self-centred, repressed, greedy, fearful and critical. It comes to the fore when we are tense, shallow, superficial and egotistical.

As stated earlier, different areas of our consciousness have different functions, i.e. the head, heart and belly centres are specialised for thoughts, emotions and instincts respectively. Each of these fields of consciousness has numerous sub-areas, each with its own specific abilities. We utilise the area of consciousness that is most appropriate for our immediate requirements. If the required area contains ego structures we will react with the pre-programmed behaviours and false qualities of the ego-personality, but if the area is free and clear we will respond with authenticity.

The degree of authentic personality we are able to express is proportional to the number of ego structures we have. Our true-nature shines out from the core of our being through our personality. If the personality is full of ego structures the light of our true-nature is blocked, so our expression is inauthentic. If, however, the personality is clear of ego structures, the light of our true-nature radiates freely and our personality sparkles with the authenticity of our being. As our consciousness evolves, the ratio of ego to Self gradually shifts in favour of the Self. The degree of authentic personality we actually express in any given moment also depends upon our mood, energy level, health and circumstances.

The eating of clay is not part of the daily diet, it is used by these women when they are pregnant. And new findings show that it may leak minerals and it is rare to see this practice continue in more modern families

>As our consciousness evolves, the ratio of ego to Self gradually shifts in favour of the Self.

That is the key. The process of getting the consciousness to evolve is an inner work. It is at the level of our thoughts, our dreams, our interaction with our fellows.

Nothing else can give us that power, no external source. Because we are a spiritual self in a physical body we need to nourish the body so that the soul has a vehicle to achieve its goals.

Benefits of Tourmaline Gemstone
by Dr. Edward Group DC, NP, DACBN, DCBCN, DABFM Published on October 11, 2013,

Tourmaline gemstone

Tourmaline gemstone is a semi-precious mineral similar to granite. With colors ranging from magenta to teal-blue, meadow-green to vibrant yellow, and even black, tourmaline gets its name from the Singhalese phrase “tura mali,” which means, “stone mixed with vibrant colors.” It’s believed that no two tourmaline stones have the exact same color and it’s historically revered as a “magic” stone that is capable of protecting whoever wore it. Although it might be a stretch to say tourmaline has supernatural powers, it does have the uncommon and very special ability to generate an electric charge and emit negative ions and far infrared rays. [1]

What are Far Infrared Rays?

Far infrared rays are invisible waves of energy. They’re able to penetrate all layers of the human body and reach the inner-most regions of tissues, muscles and bone. Through this, far infrared rays and negative ions gently soothe, stimulate and detoxify the body and mind. Negative ions are also incredibly important in determining mood. Michael Terman, PhD, of Columbia University in New York, has researched negative ions and reports, “The action of the pounding surf creates negative air ions and we also see it immediately after spring thunderstorms when people report lightened moods.” [2] Additional research has shown that mood disorders may be improved just as well through negative ion generators as antidepressants — but without the negative side effects. Why? Because these ions promote oxygenation to the brain and regeneration of the blood.[3]

The Health Benefits of Tourmaline Gemstone

Tourmaline emits far infrared radiation in the 4-14 micron wavelength. Electromagnetic radiation in the far infrared range is able to boost the immune system and promote detoxification. In fact, far infrared therapy is widely used in Japan by Kikohshi, people who heal by the laying of hands. [4]

Make no mistake, tourmaline is a powerful ally when your body is in need of detoxification. The far infrared rays created by tourmaline actually produce the same resonance in the body that is normally found in water. This form of resonance absorption helps relieve stress, increase alertness, stimulate circulation, and boost the immune system. Here are just a few of the powerful effects from tourmaline.

Helps detoxification
Supports fat loss
Reduces water retention
Improves circulation
Supports the liver and kidneys
Promotes a healthy mood
Helps eliminate toxic metals [5]
Reduces lactic acids and free fatty acids

Does Tourmaline Improve Physical or Sexual Performance?

Many professional athletes have reported great performance improvements after using therapeutic gemstones like tourmaline. Olympic swimming champion, Glen Christiansen, reportedly stated that, “The green tourmaline necklace gives me a lot of strength, and allows me to recover faster from hard workouts.” She also added, “Curiously enough, it gives me more sexual interest and power.” This isn’t the first time it’s been suggested that tourmaline may have affect sexual response. Tourmaline, which favorably influences circulation, has been reported to boost vitality and vigor in both men and women. [6] [7]

Using Tourmaline

Tourmaline emits far infrared rays and produces the best effects when your body is in close proximity. For that reason, tourmaline, and many energy-emitting stones, are commonly incorporated into jewelry. Some people simply keep tourmaline in their home or office so it’s energy can broadcast right into their environment. We’ve included tourmaline in our Detox Foot Pads™ to support the removal of toxins from the body. Have you used tourmaline before? What results did you experience?
