Alzeheimer's/dementia
Posted by: arugula ()

It's an epidemic and it's going to get worse. My dad thinks he is starting to get it. He wants to see an expensive neurologist. I told him, Just eat more f+v.

I suspect that few people here will be sufferers.

I am hoping that you all prove me right in 50-70 years, so you'd better plan on sticking around to show me so.

Yeah Arugula, and you'd be appalled at what they feed dementia and alzheimers patients in the "assisted" living "homes".

It's a crying shame.

Sticky plaque build-up... Alzheimer's... my hypothesis would be that meat plays a big role in the disease... at least if I were a research scientist, I'd look at meat first... start with a big-picture comparison of various populations- the rate of Alzheimer's is very different in different parts of the world. I think that meat is not good for the brain. I wonder if I'm right? why does science have to be so slow, it frustrates my curiosity.

Sorry to hear about your dad, Arugula, I wish him the best.

I heard people who die from alzheimer's come back, reincarnate, as birds or lower animals. I read that in the fruitarian's book, Glimpses of reality. he says alzheimer's is caused by acute spiritual depletion. Sounds pretty bad.

I don't believe it at all, of course, but who is to say anything, really.

Your dad is still alive so be happy. I don't think he has it though. Could be in his mind. try to fix it, don't believe its incurable.

And the point of telling arugula this is? If it were me posting about my parent possibly suffering from dementia, reading that (even though I don't believe it) wouldn't exactly make me feel "good."

My dad has alzheimer's, and he's just starting to be at that stage where he doesn't respond to much of anything anymore-- doesn't read and can't have a conversation more than a few words. It's hard on my mom. He's in his 90s though, and had a good, long, mostly healthy life, at least from the point of 'consensus reality,' if you know what I mean.
