Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Posted by: lotusblossom9 ()

Hi everyone,

After trying to conceive for over a year, an infertilty specialist diagnosed me with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in April.

Has anyone been able to reverse their symptoms (irregular/no menstruation, no ovulation) or know of anyone who has with a raw/living food diet?

I'm hoping to hear of any success people of had with this as I am trying it for about 3-6 months before returning to drugs and hormones.

Thanks so much,
Amy

I am sorry to hear that you are goin thru this. I don'thave that but I had dysmenorrhea (irregular periods and bleeding between periods and cramping pain). When I had just started the raw diet about four months back, I had these symptoms and had a ultrsound to see of everythign was ok. There was nothing wrong in the ultrasound yet I had the irregulra priods and lots of bleeding between periods for several days at time.

When I started the raw diet I did not even expect any benefit for this conditions, but to my delight and surprise, I was relieved of this completely. Now I don't bleed between periods and have them every 28 days. I couldn't believe it.

Please do the raw diet, I don't know if it will cure Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome, but it will help you even if you do have to get medical treatment. It will help you feel well and be more receptive to traetment.

Sending healing and Baby vibes to you.

Take care
Anu

Hi Anu,

That's awesome that the raw food diet has helped you get your period regularly and that you don't bleed in between cycles. It gives me hope!

I had an ultrasound done too and I do not have polycystic ovaries, but because of the high androgen level in my blood and infrequent periods, they diagnosed me with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Weird, huh?

Thanks for the baby wishes,
Amy

Hi lotusblossom9,
There is a raw foodist who healed herself of PCOS by raw food diet-- can't remember her name, but I will hunt her down. Her photos and story are really awesome, and I have been trying to find her website for you. I'll search some more tonight and post it here. Just wanted to let you know, the answer to your question appears to be a resounding YES.

lb, I went raw due to suffering from Candida. I had irregular periods, extreme pain, bleeding between periods (I would bleed twice a month: 1st about 4-5 days, then followed a few days later with 7-14 days. The follow month, I would skip.), extremely heavy bleeding and periods that lasted 2 weeks when heavy for 1-2 days of extreme bleeding. The 14 days periods and extreme bleeding started in my teens. The addition of the 4-5 day period began after taking birth control pills.

I was focused on the Candida as I had gone to OB/GYN's and had been given Birth Control pills (which I stopped taking after 2 years), and was told that my eggs were not released in a timely fashion. During my heavy periods, I would bleed so badly and fast that I was embarassed to even have to go to work. I would have to get up every 40 mins-1 hr to use the facilities. I would be bent over in pain. The profuse bleeding would also make extremely loud noises which sounded like I was passing gas. It was extremely uncomfortable and painful. Other people would hear the noises and all I could do was apologize.

Also, I had also contracted genital warts from my first boyfriend and had to have laser surgery and a couple of years of extreme pain and discomfort with the acid treatments that I continued to use to combat the additional warts. In addition, I had 5 subluxations from my neck to my tail bone which I believe contributed to the irregular periods and the Candida. That's the history.

Now for the benefits of raw, cleanses, fasting, and parasite zapping: The Candida is almost gone. The warts have never come back (Thank Yahweh!). I also experienced something peculiar. I have had extreme, extreme heavy bleeding. The pain was so intense that doing Yoga (Downward Facing Dog) did not alleviate the cramping. Usually that does the trick. I also had to do Reiki on my reproductive area and that only calmed me to the point where the pain dulled such that I could finally fall asleep. The bleeding was so intense that I became anemic and weak after each bout. I went through at least six of these bouts over 2.5 years. The first bout I had, I complained to my friend and he told his wife. His wife used to be a Nurse. She asked him if I were pregnant b/c it sounded like I was having a miscarriage. I was celibate at the time and my friend told his wife so. Towards the end of the bleeding (2 weeks), I found something solid, like the size of my pinkie on the pad. I pulled at it and it did not rip. It was like pulling on a finger. It was obviously a tumor that I didn't know I had. Since then, I have released 5 more of these. The sizes ranged from approximately the size of my pinkie to half the length of my thumb with the width of my thumb. On the ends of these, it looked like the skin was torn off as it had jagged edges. I had been checked by the OB/GYN for cysts, fibroids, etc. and was told that I didn't have any of these. Yet, I released 6 of these growths. Growths that I didn't even know I had. The period before last (the 7th time), I did not release one growth but I release several smaller pieces of skin. I know this was skin b/c it was solid. So, after all that, I am happy to say that my last period, I didn't recognize it as my period. I only used a liner. It lasted about 5 days and then was gone. I only had cramping that I associated as an early indicator of an oncoming period. The period was gone before I could even recognize it as such. The only reason I knew it was that was because heavier flow didn't follow it and the spotting went away. LOL!

I will have to see what the next one will be like. Eventually, the bleeding will completely go away for those that are raw vegan and we will remain fertile without the bleeding. There will only be a mucus discharge monthly. Check out Arnold Ehret's "The Mucusless Diet Healing System" regarding reference to this phenomenon. Check out Hulda Clark's "The Cure to All Diseases" regarding parasites and parasite zapping. While neither of these is exclusively a raw book, each contributes to the healing journey of raw.

My friend's daughter-in-law had extreme periods and endometriosis which was "incurable" according to doctors and she went on raw vegan to prove her father-in-law wrong about his continued lectures on health and she ended up totally cured and was rewarded with not having to menstruate monthly at all!

I hope my story has helped. Good luck and I wish great health! Therese

Hi Therese,

What an amazing story! Thank you for sharing that. I have been doing some research on PCOS and there seems to be a strong correlation with liver toxicity so I have decided to do the Master Cleanser, into a juice fast, into a raw food diet. What kind of fasts did you do to detox? And for how long?

I am hoping with these fasts and return back to a raw food diet ,I will naturally regulate my hormones. My doctor says I have high androgen levels and high LH (it's high where it's supposed to be low, there is no surge to bring on ovulation). I'm going on Monday to test to see if I am glucose intolerant, which can be another symptom of PCOS.

I will have to check out Ehert's book about the phenomenon of menstruation ceasing when raw vegan. I do not understand how you could ovulate when you don't menstruate so I will have to research that more.

Thanks again,
Amy

Hi Amy, You're welcome. Years before raw, I did the Master Cleanse. It helped but since raw, I've been doing Parasite Zapping with a Parasite Zapper, I've done a 10-day water fast twice (once last year, once this year so far), I've douched with Colloidal Silver (but not sure if it helped or not), I stopped using tampons but had to buy the all cotton, organic, non-chlorinated ones for a Candida Oil treatment, I've done a tomato-grapefruit cleanse, I did Epsom Salt-Baking Soda heavy metal soak, and I did a 9 day Cantaloupe cleanse. I'm not sure if those are all. Those were over a period of 2.75 years. If you have a problem with the liver, you might want to check out a Liver Cleanse. My friend sent me the below from Hulda Clark's advice. He said it is the best out there. Good luck! Therese

"Preparation.

-> You can't clean a liver with living parasites in it. You

won't get many stones, and you will feel quite sick. Zap

daily the week before; or get through the first three weeks

of the parasite killing program before attempting a liver

cleanse. If you are on the maintenance parasite program,

you are always ready to do the cleanse.

-> Completing the kidney cleanse before cleansing the liver

is also highly recommended. You want your kidneys,

bladder and urinary tract in top working condition so they

can efficiently remove any undesirable substances incidentally

absorbed from the intestine as the bile is being excreted.

-> Do any dental work first, if possible. Your mouth should

be metal free and bacteria free (cavitations are cleaned).

A toxic mouth can put a heavy load on the liver, burdening it

immediately after cleansing. Eliminate that problem first

for the best results.

Ingredients

Epsom salts 4 tablespoons

Olive oil half cup (light olive oil is easier to get down)

Fresh pink grapefruit 1 large or 2 small,

enough to squeeze 2/3 to 3/4 cup juice

Ornithine 4 to 8, to be sure you can sleep.

Don't skip this or you may have the

worst night of your life!

Large plastic straw to help drink potion.

Pint jar with lid

Choose a day like Saturday for the cleanse, since you will be able to rest the next day.

Take no medicines, vitamins or pills that you can do without; they could prevent success. Stop the parasite program and kidney herbs, too, the day before.

Eat a no-fat breakfast and lunch such as cooked cereal with fruit, fruit juice, bread and preserves or honey (no butter or milk), baked potato or other vegetables with salt only. This allows the bile to build up and develop pressure in the liver. Higher pressure pushes out more stones.

2:00 PM . Do not eat or drink after 2 o'clock . If you break this rule you could feel quite ill later.

Get your Epsom salts ready. Mix 4 tbs. in 3 cups water and pour this into a jar. This makes four servings, 3/4 cup each. Set the jar in the refrigerator to get ice cold (this is for convenience and taste only).

6:00 PM. Drink one serving (3/4 cup) of the ice cold Epsom salts. If you did not prepare this ahead of time, mix 1 tbs. in 3/4 cup water now. You may add 1/8 tsp. vitamin C powder to improve the taste. You may also drink a few mouthfuls of water afterwards or rinse your mouth.

Get the olive oil and grapefruit out to warm up.

8:00 PM. Repeat by drinking another 3/4 cup of Epsom salts.

You haven't eaten since two o'clock , but you won't feel hungry. Get your bedtime chores done. The timing is critical for success; don't be more than 10 minutes early or late.

9:45 PM. Pour 1/2 cup (measured) olive oil into the pint jar. Squeeze the grapefruit by hand into the measuring cup. Remove pulp with fork. You should have at least 1/2 cup, more (up to 3/4 cup) is best. You may top it up with lemonade. Add this to the olive oil. Close the jar tightly with the lid and shake hard until watery (only fresh grapefruit juice does this).

Now visit the bathroom one or more times, even if it makes you late for your ten o'clock drink. Don't be more than 15 minutes late.

10:00 PM. drink the potion you have mixed. Take 4 ornithine capsules with the first sips to make sure you will sleep through the night. Take 8 if you already suffer from insomnia. Drinking through a large plastic straw helps it go down easier. You may use ketchup, cinnamon, or brown sugar to chase it down between sips. Take it to your bedside if you want, but drink it standing up. Get it down within 5 minutes (fifteen minutes for very elderly or weak persons).

Lie down immediately. You might fail to get stones out if you don't. The sooner you lie down the more stones you will get out. Be ready for bed ahead of time. Don't clean up the kitchen. As soon as the drink is down walk to your bed and lie down flat on your back with your head up high on the pillow. Try to think about what is happening in the liver. Try to keep perfectly still for at least 20 minutes. You may feel a train of stones traveling along the bile ducts like marbles. There is no pain because the bile duct valves are open (thank you Epsom salts!). Go to sleep, you may fail to get stones out if you don't.

Next morning, upon awakening take your third dose of Epsom salts. If you have indigestion or nausea wait until it is gone before drinking the Epsom salts. You may go back to bed. Don't take this potion before 6:00 am .

2 Hours Later. Take your fourth (the last) dose of Epsom salts. Drink 3/4 cup of the mixture. You may go back to bed.

After 2 More Hours you may eat. Start with fruit juice. Half an hour later eat fruit. One hour later you may eat regular food but keep it light. By supper you should feel recovered.

How well did you do? Expect diarrhea in the morning. Use a flashlight to look for gallstones in the toilet with the bowel movement. Look for the green kind since this is proof that they are genuine gallstones, not food residue. Only bile from the liver is pea green. The bowel movement sinks but gallstones float because of the cholesterol inside. Count them all roughly, whether tan or green. You will need to total 2000 stones before the liver is clean enough to rid you of allergies or bursitis or upper back pains permanently. The first cleanse may rid you of them for a few days, but as the stones from the rear travel forward, they give you the same symptoms again. You may repeat cleanses at two week intervals. Never cleanse when you are ill.

Sometimes the bile ducts are full of cholesterol crystals that did not form into round stones. They appear as”chaff" floating on top of the toilet bowl water. It may be tan colored, harboring millions of tiny white crystals. Cleansing this chaff is just as important as purging stones.

How safe is the liver cleanse? It is very safe. My opinion is based on over 500 cases, including many persons in their seventies and eighties. None went to the hospital; none even reported pain. However it can make you feel quite ill for one or two days afterwards, although in every one of these cases the maintenance parasite program had been neglected. This is why the instructions direct you to complete the parasite and kidney rinse programs first."

I'll be darned if I can find the link to that woman who healed so beautifully from PCOS. She has amazing before and after pics, but I can't find her. However, I did find a couple little things that might be a help:

The first is a post on a bulletin board:

"I've lurked on some raw food websites (a very alkaline diet, that I tried once, quit, and plan to go back to), and the testimonials by real people like us, with real contact information telling their stories of healing, are compelling.
They are not trying to cure cancer, but many other sicknesses. My daughter is one of those people. She has been raw for 6 months and has healed herself of 80% of her PCOS symptoms. She went to the best doctors and was on the recomended diet and every medicine, and she got so sick she needed a blood transfusion (the doctors saw no connection to the medicine). She refused, threw away the medicine and went on this crazy diet and now she is almost better. The reason she is not 100% better is because it is a slow healing process.
There are a lot of detoxifying side effects as she heals. The support group of people on these websites who have done it, say it takes a least a year.
There are no alternative doctors selling any supplements. They just eat raw organic food. After they heal, there is talk about how they used to be acidic but now they are alkaline.

The second one is a blog by a woman with pcos who talks about her progress:

I know what you mean. The first time I heard that people could be perfecly fertile while not experiencing menstruation, it took me awhile to understand it. This article is so good--it explains that the human animal is biologically the same as other primates, who don't experience a period until they are in captivity and fed a denatured diet. For me, it is always easiest to understand something when someone says: "animals don't do it, so why do we?" That is what got me interested in raw food to begin with :-)

I hope you find this article as scintillating as did I!

And good luck!

Wow, thank you all for the great information.

I'm on day #5 of the Master Cleanse and then will be doing a juice fast and back to a raw foods. I'm hoping that I can balance my hormones and bring on menstruation and ovulation naturally.

I'm feeling such turmoil because I don't know how long this will take to work (if at all). 3 months? 9 months? a year? I know I should be more patient but I've been wanting to start a family for so long and part of me just wants to take the hormones. But the thought of taking so many hormones really scares me! And I don't even know if they will work!

I have to stay positive, right?

I'm so glad this forum is here because I have felt so alone with all of this.
