I just received my new Omega 8006 and really liked how easy it was to use. But the clean - up was the best. It was so easy compared to my Greenstar 2000, which is a great machine but a beast to clean after Juicing. I also liked how little space the Omega took up on my counter compared to the Greenstar. I would have loved a little less plastic but the price was right and it works great and the

Hi everyone: I purchased my waring extreme and my Vita Mix container from the Blind Guru and I absolutely love it. I ordered it at the end of August and received it on Sept 5th about 9 days after ordering it. I use it everyday at least 3x or more. I can't say enough about the power it has and how much quieter it is compared to my old vita mix sidewinder. I have been about 85 to 90% raw for

Hi Dave and everyone: Glad you like your new Vita-Mix Container. I new you would. It is everything that you said and more. I don't have the brush cleaner but it is on my wish list for the future. This combination of the waring extreme and the vita-mix prep container is just the best and the power is awsome. Also, you are so right about the air bubbles. There is very little with this co

Hi everyone: I just made Chocolate Pudding from the "Raw Food real world" book by Matthew Kenney and Sarma Melingailis. If you love chocolate like I do this is the best pudding I have ever had. I just spent the last half hour licking the container of my blender as I didn't want to waste one drop of this fantastic pudding. It was so easy to make in my blender and it only took 5 min

Hi David: It is nice to hear from someone else who bought the Waring 3.5hp blender. I think you will love the Vita Prep container. I love having the tamper although I haven't had to use it very much yet. I am still amazed at the power this machine has and how quiet it is. My old Via Mix sounded like a freight train going through my kitchen. I have hardly used my food processor since I g

WY: I could have used the waring container but I chose the Vita Prep container because it comes with a tamper which really comes in handy when doing nut butters and other things that need to be pushed down to the blade. If you look at the Blind Guru's site he does the comparison of the 3hp, 3+hp and the 3.5hp blenders and the 3+hp (Vita Prep) and the 3.5hp (Waring Extreme) were the best ones

I just received my new Waring Extreme 3.5hp blender with the Vita Prep Container. Wow it is really powerful. I was surprized at how quiet it is compared to my 25 year old Vita Mix that has served me well. I am really looking forward to putting it to good use with smoothies, nut butters and sauces. I just made a marinara sauce for my zuccini pasta and it really came out quite good. The only f

I have had mine for about 3 to 4 weeks and I am so totally frustrated as I have not been able to make angle hair pasta at all. All I get is a bunch of scallop like ribbon that keeps breaking when I try to pull it apart. I am so disappointed in this thing as I love pasta and I love zuccini. I thought this was going to be the answer to my love of pasta. Can anyone tell me what is the trick to m

It is amazing that so many have experienced so many changes in there skin, eyes and dispostion. I try not to get on a soap box and rave about how wonderful this raw life style is but you just want to scream out loud to everyone how you too can change your life in such a short period of time. Lighform, you asked what my diet was? Here is somewhat what I eat dailey. Breakfast

I just received my new 9 shelf dehydrater with the timer from Excalibur. I haven't done anything with it yet . I am trying to figure out where I can keep it so I will use it. I know if it is not in full view or put away on a shelf I will not use it but it is bigger then I expected it to be. Maybe I should have gotten the 5 shelf? I need to go to Borders and get a really good

I have been working on being raw going on two months and I feel so good and have lost 11lbs so far and have dropped two sizes in my clothes. My skin looks so healthy and have had people tell me how good I look. Lately I thought I was seeing things as I looked into the mirror, my eyes which are normally hazel all my life seem to be turning blue. I didn't say anything to anyone b

Well yesterday my 25 year old Vita-Mix blender finally gave out. It was time to make my decision on a new blender. I decided to go with the Waring Extreme 3.5hp blender but with the Vita-Mix contaiener with the tamper. This way I am getting the best of both worlds and enough power to blend just about anything. It will be quite a difference from my 1hp blender. JoAnn

Thank you for all your help. I through the remainder of the pie out after 3 days. I went to the store and bought some little pie plates so I could make smaller versions of the pie and not waste so much. It is so easy to make and doesn't take very long that this way it will be very fresh and just the right size for 1 or two people. I haven't received my green bags yet but I am looking forwa

I did post it but no one responded. But yesterday, my 25 year old Vita Mix finally gave out and I new I had to make a decision on a blender because I would go into withdrawl if I couldn't have my green smoothies. I decided to ge the Waring Exteme Blender but with the Vita Prep Container with the tamper. I should receive it sometime next week and I will post how I like it. thank you JoAnn

Hello everyone: I just want to thank all of your for your help. I was really getting scared but I now feel much better and know it was the beet that I ate two days ago. I have never felt so good and am really enjoying this life style. I am now ready to go ahead and eat beets again without worry. I have just bought my first baby tai coconut and I got the top off and poured out the water into a container. I am going to make ice cream that calls for fresh coconut meat or milk (2 cups) plus 1 cup of coconut juice. I can't see any coconut meat inside of the coconuts. Can you tell me where it is supposed to be? Also what is the difference between the milk and the water or the juice? I am

I am very concerned this morning as of yesterday evening I was having frequent BM and I started to notice a faint red color in the toilet. I thought maybe it was the beet that I had had the day before and maybe it was. Each time I had a BM it was the same and then I started to notice a faint pink color in my urine. Well, I still thought it was the beet as I felt alright just a litlle weak from

I can't take credit for the chocolate pie. I believe I found it on another raw food talk site. But I would be glad to share it. I did change the amount of the carob powder that the recipe called for as I found the amount to be too over welming for me and my husband. But once I cut down the amount, I really enjoyed eating it. I even ate another piece at 11 o'clock last night! Here it is, I

Hi everyone: I made a chocolate pie on Saturday out of Avocado, Cacao, walnuts and dates. It turned out really good. But I am not sure how long you can keep these raw food dishes before they go bad. Can you please tell me how you keep yours fresh and for how long? Do you wrap plastic wrap over it or put it in just the way it is? thank you JoAnn

Hi everyone: I think I posted this on the wrong list so I am going to put it here. I have been reseaching blenders and I have narrowed it down to the Vita Prep 3 which is a 3+hp blender and the 3.5hp Waring Extreme. I presently have the Vita Mix Sidewinder which I have had for about 25 years. It has been great but now that I am into the raw lifestyle it is grinding trying to make my smootie

I have been eating raw going on 2 months and I have lost 10 lbs and feel great! My skin looks so good and my back that usually has bumps all over it is smooth. I made my first raw chocolate pie last week and it was awful. It had way too much chocolate in it but the crust was great. I was determined to get it right so I made another one this weekend and cut down on the cacao powder. This time

I am going to buy a new blender and I have narrowed it down to the Vita-Prep 3 and the Waring Extreme . Do any of you have either one of these blenders and if so can you tell me how you like them or which one you think is better? I have had a Vita Mix Sidewinder sine the early 1980's and it is still running great but I would like one that is at least 3hp. thank you JoAnn

I am thinking of buying a dehydrator but can't decide which one to get. Do you think the 5 tray or the 9 tray is better. I have never had anything from a dehydrator and I don't even know if I will like dehydrated food. Do you use your dehydrator alot? Is it a good addition to this life style. thank you Jo
