It could be your knees ache because of some misalignment in your skeletal system, perhaps you have tight hips that cause your knees to rub harshly when you run. But rheumatism in general is a sign of toxicity, not deficiency.

Powerlife, last I checked, sugar was a cooked processed food, made from sugar cane. Last I heard, not many on the raw vegan diet are including sugar as part of the program To build muscle, one wants to do anaerobic exercises. Also what helps muscle grow is to get plenty of rest and sleep.

1624. Re: help!
The foods you chose, meat, carb, and junk foods, are foods notorious for making us not feel. One thing that happens when someone starts eating raw foods is that they start to feel a lot. Sometimes this can be overwhelming. Here are some articles I wrote that might help you: Success on the raw foods diet What will you manifest with your raw energy? There's more to health than diet

Rather than focusing on what you need to eat to build muscle, perhaps its better to focus on what muscle building activities you are going to do to build that muscle. And if you do the physical activity, your body will direct you to the foods it needs to build those muscles you desire.

1626. Re: help!
It may have been that you were undereating with your raw foods, and this built up some hunger, which could have caused the binge. Or, it could have been that you were using denial in your approach to raw foods, and eating one cooked meal made you feel how much you were denying yourself, and this resulted in a binge. Or, it could be that since you've never done this before, you are getting t

badawie, I have heard of other raw foodists who started out allergic to many raw foods. Find the raw foods you can tolerate. For the rest of your diet, eat a low fat whole foods cooked vegan diet, until your health recovers. As your body becomes less and less toxic, you will have less and less allergic reactions to things. In general, the reason the body gets allergic to normally innocuous

If you are eating tree ripened figs, the skins don't burn much (they do if you eat a lot), assuming you eat the very ripe and sweet figs that have a jelly like texture on the inside. But if you are lucky enough to find a fig tree like this, many times the figs will have been pecked at by birds. I don't mind this, I'll eat the bird pecked figs as they are the most ripe. When you buy store bough

I grow a few vegetables outside my window in my apartment. I use rock powder and organic compost to enrich the soil in my planters. I am definitely a big fan of food grown with rock powder.

The nutritional data on the first supplement said it had 114 calories in a serving. This is like water fasting, but eating a large banana. Which really isn't fasting, but a very low calorie diet. So you if want the benefits that come when the digestive system is completely shut down, you might not want to take that supplement because of the 114 calories. But if that is the only calories you ge

Lizard, I think a clean raw food diet could help. What causes inflammation are toxins in the diet. Is this 3 year old eating cooked foods, processed foods, or animal products? One simple dietary change would be to remove animal products - meats, dairy, and eggs. To eat a diet like the "Eat to Live" diet by Joel Fuhrman. To go further in the cleansing nature of the diet would be

Clements has always recommended 20% (as a percentage of volume) come from cooked foods. He believes that raw foods are the best, but the diet he recommends doesn't really work, by his own admission, eating at 100% raw. When it comes a deficiency in a diet, this is all relative to the person claiming the deficiency. Relative, not absolute. An omnivore say a vegetarian diet is deficient because

The desire for complex carbohydrates may just be a lack of carbohydrates in your diet. Try eats lots of sweet fruit and see if you desire for starches diminish. It was very difficult for me to leave bread behind, especially because there are some addicting aspects of wheat, the opioids.

You might want to look at the recipe forum here for some raw food ideas. Start with eating fruits and salads, since you probably already know how to do this. The prepared raw foods at the market are expensive, and you are better served eating simple fruits and salads. But if they help you go raw, then go for it. As you increase to raw foods in your diet, you might also want to look at i

Ascorbic, I had severe allergies before coming to the raw diet and lifestyle. I was extremely allergic to cats, as well has have intense hay fever. But after a year or two on the all raw lifestyle, these allergies went away for me. There have been people on the raw diet who were allergic to raw fruits when they first started, but as they healed themselves, these food allergies disappeared.

I don't supplement with B12. If I were to get sick with B12 related issues, I would have not problem taking the supplements. But before I took the B12 I would see if there was something in my lifestyle that was causing the symptoms other than not consuming B12 supplements. B12 is certainly cheap enough that it isn't going to break anyone's pocketbook if they practice preventative supplementati

While I agree that some people are so sick that sunlight cannot give people enough vitamin D in certain countries at all times, I don't think this is necessarily the case for healthy people on a raw diet who have been raw for some times, and they have healed their illnesses and are not consuming any medications what so ever. If you go to the internet and see what consumes vitamin D in the body

Its interesting to see who is defending this original post. The original post is one of those leading question with a negative judgment and criticism implied of the target of the question. It like the question "Are you still beating your wife?". In both these questions, it is assumed that a negative quality exists about the target of the question, and it puts the person who answers

rawpreston, The original post in the thread also bothered me with its judgment and criticism. Other members here besides myself saw this, and offered advice to the original poster to not care what other people look like, or another person advised to share their own positive experiences. And many others responded with humor, which always helps. The original post is offensive and I almost del

You may be right, that you have parasites. Given the other symptoms you described, it sounds like your body is just very sick. Whenever I've been sick, regardless of what it was, what has always helped me it to get more rest and sleep, and the eat lightly, or perhaps even to fast. What does your current diet look like? With a diet of fresh fruit and vegetables only, its hard for parasites to t

I remember when I first started eating raw, and I couldn't get that full feeling that I got with cooked foods. No matter how much I ate, that feeling of a brick in my stomach never showed up. And this took some getting used to. Its a different feeling, having a full belly, but not that old full feeling. But over time, as I ate more raw foods and less cooked foods, I got used to the new feeling

There could be other toxins in your diet that is causing the water retention. What are you putting in your mouth that is not fresh whole fruits and vegetables? Are you eating non-organic? Are you eating some salt-like products, though while they don't add salt, are still salty? Bragg Liquid Aminos are like this. Or products that contain salt: Nama shoyu, miso, etc. Are you using nu

p3d3r, When I first started raw, I was eating a super high fat diet, in excess of 60-70% fat. When I realized how much fat I was eating, I tried to cut my fat down to 10% fat. But at some point I realized I had desire to eat more fat, and I was controlling that desire. So I backed off the 10% goal, and relaxed it to 20% fat. This felt good for me and it was easy for me to do. Over the next

powerlifer, You don't have to agree that what someone is doing will work for you. But let it be OK for it to work for them, or if perhaps if it might not work, allow them to have their own experience if they so choose. For me, it is though making mistakes for myself that I find I have the greatest learning. Because you don't respond to what someone else if doing with their diet does not mea
