Yes, Lois. There must be something wrong with you if you're actually questioning the sanctioned thought of the popular kids on an internet message board. Seriously, seek help ASAP.

Give yourself time to figure this thing out. Considering that you're a fast food eater transitioning to raw, making it to 10 pm on watermelon and apple juice is pretty good. Try setting goals for yourself. If I were you I'd eliminate fast food and most processed food right away. Once you feel comfortable with that, eliminate dairy, then meat, then gluten...During this time you should set concurre

I'd like to see John Daly become a raw foodist. Now that would be interesting!

Nice blender. Welcome to raw and many thanks for the positive post. I definitely feel that there's a lot of wisdom in the patience that you show both yourself and your wife. We've been at it for almost two years (not 100% but high raw). In the first 6 months both my wife and I lost 25-30 lbs., bringing us down to our ideal weights. We've never felt better in so many ways. Enjoy the journey.

john- by desolate i mean not a lot of towns but a lot of desert. you should still see plenty of fellow travelers on the road and be able to get gas, etc. personally, i find things like that to be visually stimulating and not boring at all, but that's just one man's opinion. i'm one of the only people i know who loves driving through the cornfields of nebraska and iowa. and if you go through vega

I'd say bring a tent and check out Joshua Tree National Park, but check the average seasonal temps before you go. It's directly north of the 10 in Cali. The 10 is an interstate highway and should be well maintained. As someone already mentioned, it will take you from Phoenix to LA. Once you start heading west on the 10 in AZ, your trip should get a little desolate until you start getting near the

I don't know for sure about the urine, but the increased body odor is a standard detox symptom. My pee is usually clear, but when it's not, it means that I'm dehydrated. My guess would be that it's nothing more than years of accumulated toxins. How are you feeling?

Hi everyone. I'm enjoying this forum. A lot of really nice people around here. I was thinking about the question regarding "travelling green smoothies" from another thread. This got me thinking about what happens to nutrients after we cut our produce. Does anyone know anything about how much is lost immediately after we cut our fruits and veggies? How fast does nutrient loss happen in g

I definitely got high from listening to the show. And it's true, no medium could hold back the energy you guys were projecting. I picked it up on the other side of the country. Great work.

When I started on raw, I found great inspiration in Boutenko's book. I was also a bit concerned with the recipes at first, but ended up using them as a rough template for my own experimentation. The more you make green smoothies, the more you'll figure out what's right for you. Try throwing two cups of water into a blender carafe with 2-3 good handfuls of a nutrient rich green and some nice fruit

When you get hungry...eat. I think that everyone's going to transition in different ways. We have different bodies and different emotional and psychological barriers that we might have to overcome. Part of being raw is learning to become highly aware of what your body is telling you. If you're like me, you'll try all this different stuff in the beginning and fret over whether or not you're gettin

I always drank to elevate my mood, but when my diet improved and I started eating food that brightened my perspective, the urge to drink subsided. I also felt less of an urge to drink on the days that I exercised and slept well. Whatever's going on with you, if your goal is to drink less or to totally stop drinking, you should probably keep doing the things that you correlate with success in meet

Please do post your experiments. I haven't had much luck with my dehydrator. I really prefer eating the fresh stuff, but with another winter looming, I can always use some variety.

I worked at a co-op and one day a guy came in and challenged me to go two weeks raw when he saw me popping some charcoal tabs for my digestion. I told him he was nuts, but the little seed was planted and decided to sprout about two years later.

Try taking it one addiction at a time. I tried quitting alcohol and cigs simultaneously and didn't get it done because it was too much. I found that going in steps while adding healthy habits and routines was much more realistic. Patience is everything.
