The point is that I cannot believe that it's limited to America, especially given the proximity of Canada, I would imagine that they have many of the same chains that we do. Perhaps she ate at a roadside greasyspoon? I know that they are notorious for crap food. Curious which place she went to...

I made another juice-smoothie in the VM this morning: watermelon, lemon and romaine lettuce. I am not all that gung-ho about it. I think celery would have been better but then I would have juiced the whole thing because celery is very stringy.

Timing is everything, though...What got me about the Mike Adams speech is how he mentioned the People mag piece. He says that it takes weeks to get on a cover and so this whole synchronicity might be actually SYNCHRONIZED... Funny--I was talking to my guy about Angie and right at that moment on the radio a story came out that the first man in the world had a surgery to remove his prostrate.

I think that anything we do is done by group effort on some level. The point is that people who don't give credit to anything or anyone else strike me as self-centered. If you have a thriving business, you have to credit your customers for giving you business, especially with all the competition including online! And if you own a business, your attitude should be to honor your employees rather th

She's not 100% raw--I saw the rice in her bowl. So it's weird that it's being characterized in that way. This is truly bizarre. But did anyone notice that her husband is in his 50s and she's in her early 20s?

I just saw this sign outside a local independent health food store. I really like this place--it's got a little bit of everything and although the prices are steeper than Whole Food's typically, they carry the smaller brands that my former store used to sell. Anyway, when I went up to pay I asked if he was referencing Obama's statement and he said he was. I said: "You DO realize that he

Panchito, did I misunderstand what you meant by "looking good?" I took it literally that you don't think his appearance reflects a healthy diet.

Panchito, what about DW doesn't "look good?" Because he's not emaciated? I mean, it reminds me of anorexics who go online and see other skeletal peeps and long for that body. DW is not a Skinny Minnie and I don't know if he aspires to that. I grew up skinny (and was underweight for a time) and being on the other side of the coin, I can see that carrying too much weight and too littl

Kid Raw, it's not about bashing WF's; it's about not drinking the Kool-Aid that they are somehow perfect. As Prana mentioned, this warning is several years old. My link shows many recalls WF's has had to do recently. The truth is that even they source from China! So how can they be so superior to any other store? Why would you source from a country where it is very hard to verify purity? Wha

No. That never happens to me. My local markets accept stuff. Trader Joe's has an excellent policy in regards to that. And the strawberries I bought at my local grocery were amazing. I could not have had a better batch from WF's. Having said that, WF's is not optional. I need certain specialty items that I cannot get elsewhere.

I wonder how many people heard about this problem of lead in ginger candy found at BOTH WF's and TJ's (along with Target, from what I gather)? Whole Foods stocked it in the bulk bin and it was sourced from The Ginger People (whose products I have certainly bought before). TJ's was probably just packaged with their name on it. What does that tell you? It is the SAME product packaged under d

Okay listen to me, I will shop WF's when their prices are appropriate for my particular situation. The point is that WF's is selling THE SAME BRAND OF CONVENTIONAL PRODUCE AT JACKED-UP PRICES. So whatever horrific conditions you are speaking of, are you telling me that when WF's gives them business, they are immune from the effects of using pesticides? WF's stocks CONVENTIONAL PRODUCE in addi

Raw Lion, that is a crock, IMO. First of all, let's talk about strawberries. I bought some Driscoll's conventional at my local grocery chain (not Aldi's). I paid $2.49 for 2 lbs. Whole Foods is selling them this week for around $2.99 for one pound, SAME company! Now how are you going to tell me that this same mega farm is better when WF's buys from them? Who is getting that extra $$$$? Do you thi

I bought mine from Aldi's (parent company of TJ's). I go to all three stores--luckily I live near all three! I paid $4.99 for mine (seedless). TJ's I really don't buy my watermelons from. Haven't had good ones. What is so weird and funny is that the Aldi's makes sure to have both seedless and those with seeds. They also tend to have very good watermelons compared to TJ's and even sometimes WF

Thanks. I actually have been buying them from Trader Joe's. They are supposedly cured in salt and vinegar but they are in a jar on the shelf so can they really be raw? I suppose so. I remember gonig to a raw food restaurant in Chicago and they sold raw olives in jars on their shelf. I will tell you--these kalamata black olives are SO much better than the black olives in a can! I will never buy th
