I'd like to dehydrate some of my sprouted soy beans and grind them to a powder. For those who don't take offense at this process, can you please tell me what the lowest and safest temperature is that I can dehydrate them at. Can I use 100 - 105 F the way I do with my fruits, veggies, and nuts? Thanks, Smile

SAD foodists have no problem finding others to hang out and eat with, but I definitely feel alone regarding my dietary lifestyle here in my village of 3,000. I've gotten over feeling sorry for myself about not having a raw support network, but the facts are that I do feel lonely about it.

Does eating 100% raw during fall and winter make a person feel colder than if they were eating cooked? I'm a little nervous about not having my hot soup during the cold months, but if people tell me they feel just the same or better, it will give me the confidence I need to get through fall and winter without soup. -smilebig Pacific Northwest

A woman named Jinje responds this way in social settings, "I'm only eating my favorite foods." I like this response because it sounds like she's pampering herself instead of being fanatical. Who can respond negatively to someone who's eating nothing but their favorite foods?

In Victoria Boutenko's book "Green Smoothies", much of her book is based on the theory that we come from monkeys. I know there is physical evidence on how we evolve 'within' our species, i.e. height, width, skin color, wisdom teeth, levels of amylase, etc., but I've yet to see the physical evidence of how I evolved from another species.

gsw75 - I think that enzymes are a wonderful and valid part of the raw and living foods lifestyle for those who are interested in the scientific aspect of it. Many ill people who eat SAD and begin to undergo enzyme therapy have amazing results. I consider eating raw as my own natural enzyme therapy. Enzymes are a part of the whole living foods package (minerals, vitamins, phytonutrien

I know that fruits and veggies have vibrational energy, a life force if you will. I've read that produce begins to lose its energy once it is harvested. Today I read that putting produce in the fridge makes it lose its life force, too. My question is this: If I only eat half of a fruit or veggie, should I leave the other half out on the table or stick it in the fridge?

I attended the Raw and Living Spirit Retreat in Oregon this weekend, and I was surprised at the percentage of presenters that were overweight or chunky. What kind of message do you feel this sends?

Did the raisins eaten 4,000 years ago have seeds in them? I was reading about cakes of raisins in the Bible, and I was wondering if the people back then simply chewed their seeded raisins extra well or if they, too, had seedles raisins. And on that note, has anyone tried eating raisins that had seeds in them? I'm interested in dehydrating homegrown purple grapes and the thought of havi

Under the subject 'Raw Transformation' I gave the recipe for Blueberry Dreambars. It's the blueberry portion of that recipe that needs thickening. Maybe I could try dehydrating the puree a bit to make it more 'jammy'. What in the heck is psyllium powder anyway!?!?

Curtis - I've tried transitioning slowly into the raw and living lifestyle, but what I've found out for myself is that this doesn't work. As long as I have one foot 'in the grave', the grave keeps sucking me in. If I make a complete commitment to 100% raw and living, knowing that I'm done with cooked foods, I'm very successful. You'll have to see what approach works for you: slow transit

It doesn't have to be annoying. Simply don't purchase items from them. And Educate people that a successful raw and living lifestyle can be done without all the 'superfoods' and dehydrated goodies that many of these stores sell.

Frances - Thank you for taking the time to give me the Pecan Crumble recipe. You are appreciated. Ann - I think this recipe makes a large amount. Whenever I try a new recipe that wasn't given to me by someone who already tried it, I halve or 1/4 the recipe so I don't end up with alot of something I don't like. This recipe sounds really sweet. When I make it, I'll likely be reducing t
