For one thing, DON'T ever take anything to harden up your stool. That is the worst crime you can do to yourself. Elimination via the bowel is number one priority for good health. If you have a problem, this may well be because of the sudden increased load of fiber in your raw foods, which you were not used to before. Fruits are laxative too, you may need to adjust your fruit intake? If it is

I love this one, because it reminds me that there is more than food and more than health in this life... "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believes on me (Jesus) has everlasting life. I am that bread of life"

Generally you add up to 1 heaped teaspoon to a cup of warm or hot water, whatever you prefer. With warm water you just increase the soaking time.

I personally believe the dried powders would do more good after presoaking, but that does not mean there is no value in it. Dr Christopher has been using dried powders in capsules successfully for healing, but I still believe they would work even better after presoaking.

Dr Walker definitely recommended and added raw starches to his menu! He stated that the body can digest small amounts and that we should make use of them. Chewing it thoroughly would help with digestion, because the salivary enzymes already start predigestion of the starch.

Iron deficiency may not be about not getting enough iron in your diet. It can be a matter of not being able to absorb or utilize the available iron. I read that experiments were done where anemia was successfully treated by fasting!

You can make a pot of delicious dressing. You can put in raw apple cider vinegar for preservation, and you can add some olive oil to make it even better. The other thing you can do is chop it up fine, cover it with olive oil, and let it sit for at least 3 days, then you can strain the oil and use it. this is the recipe for the bulbs, but surely it can be done with the greens. It keeps for a l

Sapphire, if you want a remedy for broken bones etc, 'raw' fresh comfrey root is unbeatable. You chop it up as fine as you can and make a paste of it, it is quite slimy stuff. You put this on the part which is to be treated and cover this with natural cotton cloth and a piece of plastic and a bandage to keep it all in place. You keep on adding fresh root everytime before it dries out. Try it and

I think on the long term you do need some fatty foods. They are necessary to absorb the fat soluble vitamins ADEK for example. Vitamin D can be a real issue for a raw vegan, depending on your sun exposure. Vitamin D and vitamin K are needed for good bone health, to mention one thing. You won't want too much fat during cleansing times, but on the long term you will need some.

Greens will probably be your best option. There is a weed called chickweed, if you know it, it is an extremely rich source of iron, and the taste is bland, very good for a blended salad. Yellow dock is also super for iron. You won't need tablets!

What I do when there are visitors or when we are visiting others: I fast ! I am definitely not going to invite negative remarks or whatever, because I know that others don't understand the way we are eating. I eat enough when I am alone, either before or after, whatever I feel like, and that way there are no problems!

In some people vitamin C can do the job, 250-500 mg in one dose. There is a weed, called Asthma weed, it is super. You burn the leaves and inhale the smoke, or you can make a tea of it, or put the leaves on your pillow. If you are interested then I can try to find one in the garden for a picture (not sure if I will find any, we have just been weeding...) tomorrow (it is now 10 pm and dark out

Sorry Arugula, this article you referred to is about absorption of iron only. Oxalic acid has traditionally been linked to impaired absorption of calcium, not of iron. The article does not say anything about calcium.

The calm feeling after greens is because of the calcium. Calcium does that. I always make sure to get calcium in when I want a good sleep... and make sure I don't eat any calcium foods before the gym or before any exercise because they will slow me down.

There IS a correlation between food and mood. You can be sure your liver is overworked and not in the best condition. The liver is an amazing organ, but it can get overwhelmed by all it has to deal with. A raw living food diet is the best way to take the burden from the liver, so that the body can start healing itself. We don't need to do the healing, the body will do it if we allow it to....

I agree with brenna, don't try and convince anyone when they are not interested. That is a very frustrating job, which is too much stress. And I think you have the right to ban any discussions or comments about your diet if you know that it is not going to be very fruitful. I think people will understand and respect your decision. After all, they have no right to interfere with what you are eatin

I would STOP eating, and take some time off...... Serious... But if I would give myself a chance to survive those 3-6 months, then I would do the Incurables Program of Dr Christopher or of Schulze. This program has saved so many lives, why would it not save mine?

Flipperjan, I think it depends on 1 The type of fruit one eats. Some fruits are better balanced than others when it comes to minerals for example. Bananas have a very low calcium/phosphor ratio for example, about 1:4, so they definitely need to be supplemented with other foods with more of the missing minerals, like calcium and sodium, to provide some balance. calcium/phosphor should be 2:1 o

Elayne is right, plant proteins are much easier for the body to digest. Besides that, it has been shown that only 50 % of meat protein is being absorbed or used by the body, the rest is lost. Not so with plant proteins!!! That will be a good one for your friends!

I saw the list of ingredients. The good thing is that they are low-temperature processed, but it does not state which temperature. I think it would be wise to confirm with the manufacturer that it is processed at a temperature not higher than 40-43 Celsius (sorry, not used to F). I am also a bit reluctant to recommend it because it is full of extracts. Extracts are not what the body needs, it

We did it cold turkey, after the inspiration we got from Alissa's Cohen book "Living on Live Foods", and we never wanted to reverse, because the diet was sooo good!!! Alissa's book is a good place to start, you will enjoy the new lifestyle, and you will never feel deprived! However, her diets have a lot of salt and fatty foods, which are OK initially for the transition period, but you d
