Some people like to slow down their detox by eating some cooked meals, but I think getting the toxins out of the body quickly, assuming you can bear the discomfort, is the best. But you need to decide what's best for you. This rash will pass in time all by itself when your body is finish cleaning itself out.

You can eat nuts and seeds without sprouting them. I never sprout them. Give them a try and see how they taste to you. If you don't like the taste, you can still blend them into your salad dressing to thicken them. As for the "raw and live" terminology, raw means a food hasn't been cooked. But it could have been dehydrated, or not fresh, or old and stale. Live usually means their

One thing you will learn is that many doctors don't understand the raw food diet, and many who have studied nutrition will have a mainstream view of nutrition. The raw food diet is anything but mainstream! I don't think juicing greens will raise your insulin unless you are eating a ton of fat. Another reason (in addition to Trive and coco's input) to use the nutritional calculators to make su

Kidney stones are from too much protein, or specifically animal products, in the diet. To prevent them, cease eating animal products and eat a whole foods low fat vegan diet, or better would be a whole foods low fat raw vegan diet. If you have kidney stones, you want to first cut out the cause, which is the high protein diet. You will want to eat a lot of juicy fruits to get your body properly

Why not let how something feels dictate whether or not you are going to eat it. So if eating the cashews feels good, then eat them until they don't feel good. Or if they just don't feel good, then don't eat them. Your best bet for raw is fresh fruits and vegetables found in the produce section. But there is some fresh produce that has medicinal qualities, which kind of makes it suspect as a go

I just watched a BBC program called Did Cooking Make Us Human. Its a bit sorry what passes for science nowadays. One part of this program had a group of people in the UK eating a raw food diet for a week or so. They all ate fruits and vegetables, except the fruit was non sweet fruit like raspberries and the diet consisted mostly of raw vegetables. The people doing the test were not able to eat en

BackAgain, when it comes to healing with sleep, sometimes one night or even a full weekend of extra sleep is not enough. For my detox, I took 4 months off from work, and I slept 16 to 18 hours a day, including naps, for the first month. Each subsequent month I was able to reduce the sleep I needed by 2 hours per month. So for me, it took 4 months of extra sleep to overcome my fatigue.

I'll bet its some kind of neurotoxin. For example, organophosphates are the basis of insecticides and herbicides. They are also the basis of nerve gas, which kills nerve and brain cells.

I like hemp seeds as my fat source, which can substitute for almonds or avocados. Sunflower seeds are a cheap alternative to expensive nuts. Beans are unnecessary, and no substitute is necessary. Beans are hard to digest as they contains high amounts of starch and protein, which don't food combine well together. Even with cooking, beans can produce serious gas. If you are concerned abou

I live in northern California, which isn't that far from Klamath lake in Oregon. Around here, in all the rivers, the health officials post warning about not letting your dogs swim in the river when the blue green algae is ripe, as ingesting this stuff will make your dog sick and possibly kill your dog.

Was it the fasting or the ayahuasca that brought you relief from your symptoms? Perhaps a longer supervised fast, say like a month long fast, might help with the healing. But if it was the ayahuasca, then perhaps your illness is more of a spiritual problem.

Lee, Thanks for the update on your process. Your presence is a blessing, and your participation here has made a difference to me. I am glad that my input was helpful to you. Hearing of your process is a reminder to me to stay present with my own life, and for me to attend to the feeling of peace, love and bliss, rather than to allow my mind's tendency to languish in thinking and though, whi

I've had most of the fruit on that video. The fruit he called longans are really langsat. I love the langsat. When I was eating cooked food, the durian smelled very putrid to me. But after going raw, my perception of the smell changed quite a bit, and now it smell like a sweet tropical fruit, and of course the taste is heavenly. Yumm. Durian is my favorite tropical fruit, but my second favo

For me it varies depending on the season. Yesterday I had the following: 2pm: 10 oranges 6pm: 8 bananas, 8 strawberry smoothies. A vegetable crudité with sliced cucumbers, carrots, celery, and red bell peppers, with a dipping sauce made from 4 tangerines, 2 ribs celery, 1/2 bunch cilantro, 2 tbsp sundried tomatoes, and 3 tbsp hemp seeds. During the summer, I might have the following: 2

You might want to see what your fat percentage is with a nutritional calculator like fitday, nutritiondata, nutridiary, or Cron-o-Meter. A 30% fat intake is high, 20% is moderate, and 10% and less is low fat. If you are used to eating a high fat diet, it make take some time to get your fat intake to a moderate or low level.

I've made pâtés where the main ingredient is carrots with celery, ground sundried tomatoes, cilantro, some lime juice to hydrate the ground sundried tomatoes, and then a small amount of hemp seeds to make the pâté creamy. I use a food processor to blend everything up. You could omit the hemp seeds, and perhaps use more ground sundried tomatoes to manage the wetness of the pâté.

This can be a detox symptom when first going raw. There have been posts by people who lost some hair when transitioning, but over time, their hair grew back thicker and healthier than before the hair loss. I didn't notice a lot of hair loss myself during my transition, but my hair was getting thin 10 years before I went raw. Now my hair is very healthy. Stress can cause hair loss.

Marlene, If you take a substance that suppresses the symptoms of acne, you will creating a state where the health will become worse. The body creates acne to release toxins through the skin. If some kind of herb or topical substance makes the acne stop, the toxins will just stay in the body. It best to remove the toxins from the lifestyle, and once the body has removed its internal toxins,

I usually get a salad, raw soup (I like cream of celery root), perhaps a nori wrap. I usually avoid the nut heavy entrees, though I will eat the raw desserts, which are nut heavy. My favorite raw dessert is a candy cap mushroom cheesecake. When I am in the city I notice I want denser foods to block out all the city energies. Over the last 8 years, I have had a few teas (perhaps 1 or 2 a year a

I've been 100% raw vegan for over 8 years. I don't eat a lot of variety from day to day. But I eat seasonally, so that means what I eat now is not going to be what I eat in the summer or the fall. I make zero effort to eat a variety. However, when I was eating cooked foods, I could eat the same meal 2 weeks in a row. I buy my foods in cases which means 38 to 40 pounds at a time of oranges or b
