31. Re: B12
I use cronometer sometimes to track nutrition and when I entered 1 tsp of matcha green tea it showed a large amount of b12. So I searched for a minute and found some sites saying it has b12, but it was just a skim of the sites.

I usually include a lemon when I am juicing greens. I think lime may be equally alkalinizing but it will not damage the teeth.

33. Re: B12
It's difficult to find a vegan forum that doesn't have meat eaters discussing eating meat. I hope this forum will stay strictly vegan. (I didn't read this entire thread, but I noticed the titel is B12. I recently discovered the Matcha green tea I've been drinking for many months has an enormous amount of B12.)

@phantom, I want to be put back into the earth for worms and everything else. Also, I read it saves animals' lives to donate one's body to science after death. I think there would be less chance of someone eagerly considering the body dead while still alive.

Great responses. Thanks! @swimmer, it's especially interesting to hear from an employer's point of view. I agree that most employers probably won't think about it too much, but there is no way of knowing if the hiring manager is one of the people with one of the stereotypes swimmer mentioned. I'll be very conservative and not mention it on FB til I'm hired. @bananawho, Since we know most empl

Hi, I just want to add other countries do eat dogs, and, unfortunately, they believe dogs will taste better if you torture them before you kill them It's really bad. (Honestly, I forget the specific country, but I thought it was China. I could be wrong.) I think you can easily find an AR video about it on youtube. Of course, we treat many species terribly in the U.S. too. P.S. The reason I k

Well there's nothing negative on my page, so it's ok if anyone looks at it. I was just wondering if vegans tend to get discriminated against in the professional workplace, in which case I won't have a reference to it.

@banana who and utopian life, thanks for pointing this out. I found much of this thread quite unintelligent and offensive, and was glad to see others say something. p.s. I wrote this after reading the first page only, but I would rather view other threads than finish this one.

I know that most employers will check out a candidate's facebook page so people generally make the page look professional while job hunting. I've read advice to keep religon and politics private when searching for a job because you never know if a hiring manager will be swayed against you if they disagree. So would veganism fall into this category of something to keep private, or is it basically

In very hot weather (heat waves) I like linen fabric to keep cool and I prefer long sleeves and pants. In the area I live, one can only obtain vitamin D from march-sept, IIRC. I read a book called the vitamin D solution which provides this info for each area in the U.S. I no longer take vitamin D pills because vitamin D from the sun is thought to have 5 cofactors that aren't available in any pill

I'm only posting this because I'm not sure if there are people here who haven't heard this point of view. I'm not debating - only posting in case it's new info for anyone who will read this. I copy/pasted it for my own convenience of not having to compose it Proponents of zoos like to claim that zoos protect species from extinction—seemingly a noble goal. However, wild-animal parks and

Dogs and cats are domesticated animals and need homes. Over 5 millions dogs/cats are euthanized yearly in the U.S. due to the overpopulation crisis. It's important to always adopt/never buy from a breeder, and always spay/neuter.

There are so many good replies in this thread. I like seeing what everyone is doing for new ideas. I'll keep toning and try something new too.

I will not get any vaccinations when I travel. It's better to resist diseases by having good health. Full-disclosure: I don't go to doctors/hospitals either unless it's for something like a broken bone. I think it's better to let the body heal itself, even when it's more painful, than to interfere with the healing process. (Another personal issue I have is a lot of vaccines aren't vegan.)

I used to do strength training. (I didn't get any bulk or anything - just toned.) Now, that kind of exercise doesn't feel "right" when I do it. I'm wondering what kind of exercises raw vegans are doing to stay fit. For anyone doing strength training, do you do anything special with your diet?

@flipperjan, I agree. Elephants live longer and much healthier in the wild. They roam so many miles each day. In captivity they experience stress and poorer health since they can't engage in their natural activities.

I'm reading a book called "Man's Higher Consciousness," which talks about what is discussed in this thread. Of course, I don't believe everything I read but it has some interesting evolutionary theories on why we have organs for eating food if we were originally not meant to eat. I'm not religious. Although, some people here might be. I still found parts of the book interesting and it d
