Thanks, that's interesting! I hope that oil doesn't get into the cashews themselves.
So the cashews don't want us to eat them, so they have the poisonous coating. That means cashews aren't a proper food for humans.
But I'm going to be eating them anyway for now at least.

Yes, I've had them right off the tree at a place that sells edible plants here in Virginia. They're delicious. My husband is trying to grow them now. He planted the male and female paw paws a few years ago and this year we finally got some fruit growing on the tree and were waiting for them to get ripe, and then suddenly one day they were gone. Cashews are one of the staples in my raw food diet - I'm 100% Raw when I travel, which is one week a month, 80 Raw/20 cooked when I'm home (to try to gain back the weight I lose by eating all raw when I travel)
