So a lot of people will say, "I'm 50/50 raw" or "I'm 80/20 raw" etc etc...I've even read "I'm 98% raw" ...is there any way this is calculated or do you just kind of guess how much you eat raw and don't??

How would I find out about my hcl? And I can't believe I didn't even think about watermelons, I love watermelons. Romaine will work for me as well a lot of times with my fiance and I go out to dinner I'll just get a salad that is basically romaine and cucumbers, no dressing or anything because I love eating it plain Right now I'm just munching on bean sprouts and cucumbers with a little le

Oh such great suggestions! I love the 'lettuce wrap' idea!!! Oddly enough I have a manzano banana with my fruits right now, problem is that I tried to peel it and found that it wasn't ripe  so I had to find a way to wrap it up and hope that it doesn't spoil now before it gets ripe . Do you have any suggestions on this, would putting it in a sunny window quicken the ripening? Also, I'

I feel like I'm stuck in a rut with the foods I'm eating raw. I eat the same things over and over...and it's getting tiresome. I don't really do recipes often, but instead just choose to eat the actual items. I was hoping some of you could tell me your favorite foods to eat raw to give me some inspiration? I'm not 100% raw yet mainly for the fact that I can't come up with any new foods that I

Is cocoa powder raw? I'm fairly new to all this, and I just got a dehydrator for cheap at goodwill...so I'm making some raw cookies . I haven't eaten anything even close to junk food for probably about a year because I made the choice not to, but I really want to try some raw cookies. So can anyone tell me if cocoa powder is raw? And if so, does it taste like chocolate or what? I ask because

Although sometimes fruit can seem to take up a lot of space, I think you'd be much happier and feel better if you brought whole fruits with you rather than dried anyways. I always feel better eating a fresh fruit than a dried one. If you still want to use dried and want to find out about Just Tomatoes, search their website and see if there is a way to contact them (which I'm sure there is) and

I just read this on another raw forum I'm on and thought I'd share. QuoteALL the goji is dried with SULPHUR....technically this makes it NOT ORGANIC the chinese STANDARDS of organic do not apply to our standards in the us/uk likewise with many other food products NFL upholds the true quality standard and verifies true ORGANIC unsrayed,un messed with pure real true "food'-or does it?

Aw thanks about the picture and the information on the past thread. The name is actually the name I use for DJing. My boyfriend and I both spin drum and bass and I am currently working on learning to use a program to produce some tracks myself. It originally came about by me being a lighting technician for my friend's band, and being quite obsessed with pirates (have been since about age 5 - I

Thanks for all of the suggestions We're going to the store tonight so I am going to just simplify my recipe as Bryan suggested. I'm not big on almonds (not sure why since I love almond milk...) so I'm going to mix pecans and raisins without the processing. Hopefully this will taste better

I found a recipe online for raw cereal and I made it yesterday - only problem is that it was probably the most untasty raw thing I've ever eaten despite loving all the individual ingredients. Can anyone tell me things I could add or change from this that would make it better tasting? Ingredients: 1 cup pecans 1/2 cup walnuts 2T flax seed 1 cup raisins 1 cup sesame seeds 1 cup sunflower

50. Score!
If anyone saw my post before, I was wondering what to do since the only food processor I had only held 1 cup. I just wanted to share my find . I usually don't shop at target (I try to avoid big stores), but a friend gave me some cash to go buy him some toilet paper and told me what kind to get (he couldn't get out of the house). He always goes to target so he gave me almost exact change for wa

51. Carrots
This isn't for me, and isn't necessarily raw (well, I guess it could be)...my friend Kim is wanting to dehydrate carrots in her dehydrator because she thinks her son would be more apt to eat them like that, if they were slightly crisp... I've never used a dehydrator but she said hers has little ventilation holes in the different tower sections of it, and she plans to chop up the carrots fine e

Thanks everyone! I'm going to remake my cucumber fettuccine with orange sauce later (I found the recipe somewhere on line a bit ago - I just wished the orange sauce was thicker) and add a banana because I have a ton of those right now

I asked her what the alternative to eating raw and mostly non-organic was and she said that she only eats organic now in things that she absolutely feels she NEEDS to (those with heavy pesticides), and that a lot of times she avoids buying fruits/veggies she loves because she can't afford the organic versions. So basically she wouldn't be able to afford much organic either way - she just thinks

1. I have a friend who wants to go raw, but keeps saying she can't afford it (she's had some money problems recently so I understand where she's coming from). She wants to know if it's still worth eating raw if you can't buy everything organic. I told her I think that with things that typically are less saturated with pesticides (bananas for instance) it's fine, but that with other things I thi

Anyone here like Pepino melons? If so, what would be something good to mix them with in the blender or food processor? I tried one by itself and it wasn't really my thing but now I have another one and I'd really like to think of something to do with it...

I have one more question, on another forum I'm on someone mentioned that they don't have a dehydrator so they put it in the stove on the lowest setting...would that work is that too close to cooking? I'd rather not use the stove, but since someone suggested it I was curious about if it would work.

Thanks for the information! I probably won't use one at all because I'd hate to buy it and then end up phasing it out which I would probably end up doing. I guess I'll see if I have a friend locally who has one I can borrow instead to use from time to time.

I saw a cooking show recently where the cook used pomegranate in her fruit salad. I've heard of this fruit but have never tasted it. For those of you who have - could anyone give me the lowdown? What does it taste like? How do you eat it?
