i am getting married in a month, and having a reception some time in february. i would love to make a raw cake to share with everyone, but am having trouble finding a good cake recipe. i was trying to figure out how to duplicate that "wedding cake" flavor, but haven't been able to do it yet. any ideas?

i want to try a colonic at a clinic...just to see the difference... anyway, i kind of disappeared for a while...just busy with school. however, i am doing so much better. my yoga practice has improved greatly, and i can tell i am losing some of this weight (but i won't get on a scale yet...). other than that, school is insane! i am trying to graduate magna cum laude, but not sure yet if that w

right now i actually just use the big enema bag...colema board would be nice but right now all my money goes to school-healthy food (i spend a lot. it's ridiculous)-yoga classes-wedding stuff. i use distilled water when i can (the high amount of flouride in tap water-ugh!) my only problem is, i hate the, uh, noises i make in the bathroom...and we live in a tiny, tiny place. it has been hard ge

i admire that you weren't tempted to eat everything just because you ate the popcorn (not sure if i worded that right.) my biggest problem is the urge to binge if i go off track one little time (and i am a perfectionist...my "on track" is ridiculously stringent.) this is why i am not trying to go 100% right now...i know that if i say i will go 100%, i will mess up one tiny time and t

I say the > price and got very scared of it haha. i take raw almonds and put them in a high powered food processor. yummy, not as pricey, and no separation (that oil separation in packaged nut butters still freaks me out. it's the eating disorder in me. weird, i know.)

oh, i don't mind...i think i have done the same thing so many times! i feel good today...woke up with a horrible feeling in my gut, but did at home colonic and felt better IMMEDIATELY! ugh, so much stuff to do for school. i am ready to be done. being a student is no fun when you also have bills and other stuff to worry about...and everyone else your age has a job.

the nori wraps sound great...except (don't atttack me!) avocado. for some reason, i can't make myself like them. hmm...was it the almonds that made you feel sick? i can only eat a few at a time, or else i belch all day. weird. almond butter is another story...i can eat that without a problem. must have something to do with it being pureed...

thanks again, everyone...i will have to look in to CST. i have heard of it, but have never tried. my problem is that once upon a time, i did spend my money on useful things like acupuncture (loved it). however, the e.d. has made me so desperate that lately it's just spend, spend, spend on fad after fad...not to mention the doctors, therapists, etc (no insurance right now. eek.) i just got b

thanks to everyone for the responses!! i have a semi-regular meditation practice. there is a meditation "group" in my town that meets weekly, but i haven't been in a long time...maybe i need a "refresher." i have been doing a lot better...the only thing i cannot give up without "weaning" is caffeine. i've been doing organic coffee, though...and only a couple di

this is completely insignificant...but you mentioned nori wraps, so i had to mention this...i love nori! i actually eat it by itself a lot. if you like sea vegetables, you will probably love dulse. it is my favorite sea vegetable by far. i absolutely cannot digest raw veggies at this point, so sea vegetables are great...softer and easier to digest. what do you put in your nori wraps?

as silly as it may sound...i already feel better. i want to go back to yoga tomorrow...that is a big step. let me explain. i do bikram yoga every single day. sometimes twice a day. it's become my "thing," especially since i never really had anything as a child...no sports, no instruments, no artistic talent. i'm a writer...but that's about it. i'm kind of a star at my studio. i

no, karennd...i haven't had anything fixed. i do yoga every day. that has helped more than anything. other than that...it just sucks. especially considering that i'm 28 years old and have never had children...it makes no sense. anyway. here i sit with my green smoothie...so far, nothing different. i have a green smoothie every morning already. i'm excited, though...later i am making apple carr

i have to run (juicer shopping! fun!) soon, but i can give a brief history of my experience with doctors... about five years ago, i started having some weird sensations in my pelvic area. i listened to my body and was positive i had a prolapsed uterus. i went to doctor after doctor (i have the bills to prove it) and they all told me i was crazy, and i literally collected prescription sheets fo

i just read your post...wow. it's horrible that anyone has to go through so much, but i just wanted to say that you aren't alone. i certainly feel less alone now that i have read that. i just re-joined this forum and your story is familiar to me...family stuff, eating disorders, health problems...seeing you here is an inspiration! thanks!

i don't even know where to begin. i guess i can start by saying that i have felt "called back" to raw for a few years now, and i'm not going to ignore it any longer. in 2002, i went 100% raw...because i felt polluted, sick, and unhappy. i was suffering from an eating disorder and it was ruining my entire life. the raw lifestyle certainly helped me a lot, but it seemed like the wor
