2nd note: As a beginner, NEVER let yourself get hungry. Better to be STUFFED with apples...or celery...or grapes or whatever. Eating light foods constantly (every 2 hours at least) can help many people to keep their metabolism up and lose weight. Just my experience. For me, this advice was and STILL IS invaluable! Thanks for reminding me David...

I am in this exact same boat. I am pregnant though and have been struggling with two things. In the beginning of my pregnancy I was sick with morning sickness (which I have heard is a detox), all day long. It started at 11am and just continued throughout the day until about six. So, my eating got all screwed up and my iron got low from the start. Now that I feel better, I am struggling treme

Hi there, Sorry to post a negative comment here, but I have had a terrible experience with this company(The Garden Diet)!! Has anyone else ever ordered from them or had any encounters with this family? I am blown away and amazed at the lack of respect or follow through. I spent $40 and ordered 4 items. I received ONE!!!! They will not respond to my emails, AND to top it all off, I lost $30!

Does anyone own one of these juicers? Know anything about them? Recommend them? Any info? Thanks!

The only thing you can get at that price is a Walmart no-name juicer. It would be better to spend another $30 and get the Jack Lalane. If you have a coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond (you can get them online) you can get the Jack Lalane there for about $75. Definitely worth it - I used the walmart brand juicer. Not good!

Does anyone have this juicer? Can you tell me anything about it - will it juice wheatgrass efficiently (it says that it can juice wheatgrass), any pros or cons? I am looking for another juicer under $300, and I can get the Omega 8005 for $207. Is this the best deal, or is there a better juicer out there for the money? I am looking to mostly juice vegetables, some fruit, definitely wheatgrass.

Also, not sure what your birthing choices look like at this point, or if you have given it any thought, but I had two babies at home. I would highly recommend it!! If you want to talk please pm me or you can message me on myspace/facebook (andrea turner)! Congrats again.

So great, I read Arugula's post and thought, "hmmmm......me too" Then I read Shane's and thought, "That's right!!" Don't settle! Thanks for all of the input, hope it continues, the dialogue is great. I still don't know what BBS's are in DZM's post. Anyone?

Remember Paul Suvine? He was all over you on here!! LOL I think he was the Enlightened One. There was a whole big thing about the comments he was making, and others were making as well....not that he was looking for a relationship, but I think that he did put it out there and said a few nice things...or maybe they were derrogatory, I can't really remember that whole situation. We don't live

Okay, on top of everything I wrote before, I am totally struggling with candida! And, in Dr Dougs book he talks about the importance of cutting back on fats. And how mixing fats with fruits can produce an overgrowth of yeast. I don't eat enough fat, in fact have about a half an avacado every two or three days. Is the fruit producing the candida? I am getting so frustrated because I am feelin

For some reason, Suvine, I am so surprised that you ate it...or even pretended to. Why? Stuff that that feels horribly violating to me, like I compromise my values to protect the other persons feelings. Over what...? Weiner schnitzel!!!! I have been in situations like that before and have caved, but the more comfortable I feel about my choices and my lifestyle the more I feel confident enoug

I know this has been discussed before, but I need to bring it up again. I am completely blown away at the how FEW people are concerned with their health or their diet. I have met so many people who continue to live on sugar and mountain dew and/or diet sodas. As I am starting to think about dating again, I am freaked out by the idea that meeting some in real life that is at all concerned about

I am having the same issue - trying to figure out what works best for my body right now. i am not sure why the change, but I have always gotten up in the am and waited until I felt hungry to eat 4-8 bananas, depending on size and level of hunger. I have needed less and less the longer I have been raw. Then for lunch I would either have a huge salad, or 2lbs offruit. I have never had a problem

I added it to my salad today and made a dressing with oranges and ginger. It was pretty delicious! Any thoughts on ginger? Do people avoid it much like garlic? Or black pepper? I think that both ginger and fennel are digestive aids. Is that correct? I am trying to see how many questions I can ask in one post...lol.

Does anyone know what I can do with this veggie? I don't really love the taste of it alone, but would probably like it in a salad or something. Any ideas?

80-10-10 has also helped me with my situation in every way, including candida, and I think that what Bryan said was spot on. Dr D mentions in his book that candida is not necessarily fed by sugar alone, but something about the mix of sugar and fat. I cannot remember exactly, but bryan touched on it and you can re-read the section of his book that explains it. Irena too said that getting rid of

I LOVE 80-10-10!!! I can write more tomorrow, I am wiped out (after just doing my organic co-op today!! HOORAY!) but would love to talk more about the plan. It totally works for me, and the key is to get enough calories. I don't have the cravings or wanting for other non-raw foods. I am not at the point to start restricting cals, or eating less. I need the quantity for physical and maybe eve
