I hope to be able to keep everyone here posted with what I eat from day to day. My plan, if all goes well, is to start a diary entry each morning and update it throughout the day with what I've eaten. I don't expect my first few days to be right on point with my calories and macronutrients, but I'm giving myself the first few days to mostly get adjusted. If I miss updating for a day or two I w

Quote1) I'm not sure I understand the question, but I get about 2,500-3,500 calories per day and most days are 5-10% calories from fat (not a lot of fat - feel great!). For instance with 80/10/10 the macro percentages are 80% carbs, 10% fat, and 10% protein . Thanks for the help so far. I have one more question: whole mature coconut vs thai young coconut: Why do most buy young coconuts

Tomorrow is my first day on this grand raw adventure. One time a few years ago I decided to try and eat mostly raw food. However, I didn't know that much about the whole thing and once I hit detox I gave it up. These days I'm a happier (and healthier!) vegan than I was back then and decided, "Hey...why not give it another go?" Which is where I'm at now, a fridge and cabinet stocked

Instead of making posts for all my questions I'm just going to start asking them here. I'll start with some I wrote down earlier Any help would be much appreciated. 1. Athletes- What percentage of your calories do you use for each macronutrient? And can anyone tell me if the 80/10/10 thing is good for those with high athletic aspirations? 2. Are rolled oats and/or kamut flakes generally

I didn't want to vax at all (myself and none of my family is vaccinated) and my husband wanted to vaccinate on schedule so we came up with the middle ground that we would wait until our children were 2 and then they would be vaccinated selectively. My son is two and a half and so far the "selectively" has been not at all lol

I did a "vegan treats exchange" on another forum recently and one thing I sent with my care package was a bar called "Raw Revolution" it was the only thing I sent that I've never eaten before myself. Has anyone had these? Thoughts?

The way I see it...a raw foods diet using non-organics is still better than a cooked foods diet. I've read that a lot on this and other raw foods forums. My suggestion is to google the "pesticide dirty dozen" and be sure to get those organic when you can, they have the highest pesticide residue

I just read through all 8 pages of this thread and I am in awe of your accomplishment thus far. Congrats on your fruitarianism! Also I saw that someone mentioned olives and you mentioned that you would if you could find raw ones. I found some online because i was looking for them myself. They were on this site I checked there now and they aren't listed, but they were there an hour ag

I'm just now trying raw foods again so I don't think using cashews will be too big of a deal. I'm not that into hazelnuts and I don't even know where I'd buy filberts lol Thanks for the suggestions!

I know there are studies that prove that vegetarians and vegans live longer than omnivores. Does anyone know anything about longevity in raw foodists compared to cooked vegans

The ones I have are local organic. Very small with thin stems unlike the ones you buy at the grocery store. Those should work well right? I also am growing my own this season but these are what I have on hand

I don't know if I can find poms anymore but if so-- I'll try this too! BTW completely random but when it says to soak cashews, how long do you do that for? Also I heard that cashews can never truly be raw because their outer shell/coating is toxic and well...don't remember the details but it has something to do with having to be heated to not be toxic. Do you know about that and if it's true

I tried eating mostly raw a few years ago but gave up before my detox was over-- so I'm at it again . That being said I've got a few things around here that I don't know what to use them in but the main is dulse powder/flakes/whatever you call it...lol. What is good to use this in?

Do any of you eat raw collards? And if you do, what do you make with yours (as in what other foods do you eat with them) or how do you eat them (just cut up?) Just curious Thanks
