Mmmm! The simple, quick creations with raw food attract me the most. This sounds deeeeeelish! I'll try this with some agave nectar instead. Wow, I haven't had tahini in weeks! Time to save money for a new stock.... heheh.

I have been strugging with binging on, well, anything I can get my hands on (usually raw, but I've slipped with really awfull consequences a couple of times here and there) since I've started to go raw. I'm also going for 100%, or at least as high up there as humanly possible (it isn't always easy, we all know that for sure!). I've found that stopping and really imagining eating a certain foo

Heheh, I find this all kind of embarassing. That cleanse wasn't for me. I did make it four days though, and broke the fast with some raisins last night. Sorry, but the lemon juice and maple syrup have made my teeth super sensitive, and that ain't cool! I feel good that I fasted at all, though. Really put a lot of things in perspective, aside from food. Back to the ol' raw journey!

4. Halt!
Well, quick update. After reading a hell of a lot about fasting and the Master Cleanse in general, I decided yesterday to give it a go! Picked up the little booklet by Burroughs, got all the ingredients, and had my first glass this morning. Damn, this stuff is delicious! Sure, it's not totally raw, but I know this will help stem my horrible cravings for binging, and then some. I'm looking fo

So yesterday went over pretty well. The salad I had out to dinner wasn't bad. I had brought some pre-soaked and dried walnuts to throw on our salads (my dining partner went raw with me for dinner, which was a huge help!) and the olive oil they drizzled it all in was top-of-the-line stuff! The olives probably weren't raw (most likely canned), but what the hell, they didn't make me feel woozy or

So I've been raw, sort of raw, not raw at all, semi-raw, high-raw, "up-there" raw... blah blah blah, and have even fallen back on non-vegan binge food here and there in my month-long journey of exploring the world of raw food. Ahhhhhh! Sooooo, since my eating habits are so out of whack right now (along with my body, ugh, the physical and mental swings I've had are too many to list), I

Wow, I feel much better now that I've found this post, and others, about the symptoms of detoxing. I definitely feel like I have the flu right now. My eyes feel warm and heavy, I'm all dizzy and schtuff, and my throat feels swollen. Been coughing a bit too. But it's so strange, because I am wide awake and have a lot of energy, and feel good, but... bad...?! Been very high raw for the past

Hey, I'm new to raw foods as well (been vegan for a bit but I still feel lethargic on cooked food), and just whipped up this little green smoothie that's really easy and refreshing... drinking it right now! It's really filling too, nice for the morning or lunch, or a snack when you're craving... something... Super Simple Sensual Smoothie: *romaine lettuce (I bought them as hearts, so I us

If you consider sprouts to be greens, get a good batch of mason jars and start that indoor sprout garden! I'm hooked!

I've just started adding a little dash of Celtic Sea Salt (the light grey, coarse kind, with the Grain and Salt Society label on it... hope that's okay stuff!) to a glass every morning, too. I actually loved the taste right away! Gives the water some "weight" or something. I always drink a ton of water and never feel satisfied, and I hope this will make me feel a bit more hydrated.

From what I know (and it isn't much, still sort of a virgin to living foods), soaking wakes up the enzymes in the dormant nut/seed. Well, wait, I'm sure you knew that already... but what else happens? I dunno... I guess the "food of life" for the plant wakes up and it's a little storehouse of nutritious fun! Wheeee...! (okay, excuse the weirdness, I can't sleep and am coughing up

Being a huge chickpea fan, I'm curious as to what fresh garbanzo beans look like? Do they come pre-packaged or do you just buy them in bulk? I've started to sprout the little guys and they're nice and crunchy in salads, but I miss the ol' garbanzo flavor!

I'm 21, but can't say I'm very sane... Very new to raw/living foods, but already loving a little piece of fruit for breakfast!
