I am just starting to do my homework to buy a great water filter. I am not looking to spend the $1000 plus on one of the magical alkalizing filters at this point, but would spend a few $100. Can anyone help me shortcut who has already done the homework? I would greatly appreciate it! Many blessings.

I ate a SAD diet about 18 months ago (heavy meat, lots of dairy, a few greens and no fruit at all). I also never ate fruit because I had bought into the idea that those sweet calories were bad because and a waste. I transitioned from there to vegetarian, vegan and now raw vegan and along the journey my tastes have completely changed. I now love fruit (in fruit of me on my desk right now are

My mother lost the liver enzyme that breaks down fructose after her last pregnancy, she experiences low energy and sick feeling with a small amount of fructose unless it is small enough to burn off.

Thanks for the information, that idea of over stimulation is very interesting. I go to a raw dinner on Sunday nights and although it is supposed to be 100%, I think some of the spices are not raw. I guess what you are saying though is that even if the spices are raw, it still might have an ill effect. I do notice I end up reading a long time on Sunday nights to slow down, it is hard for me

So after deciding to go 100% for a while I have heard a saying a couple of times... "98% raw, 98% benefits, 99% raw, 99% benefits, 100% raw, 1000% benefits!" Anyone have any opinion on this? Are there any concrete benefits of not putting that 1% in your body (things like spices or vanilla extract)?

Wow, this post is making me realize I eat very low quantities of fruits compared to a lot of you. 23 tangerines? In a sitting? I seem to eat closer to 3 of each thing and am full...need to work on that I guess.

Thank you for the great information! I had not even considered the higher fiber content of my diet, and really should have. It is also good to hear that other people dropped then leveled out. Hopefully I will level soon. I have not been juicing at all, just eating whole foods and some food processed stuff (not processed foods). Maybe adding some more juiced items would get me some more cal

I transitioned to 100% raw nice and slow over about 10 months, and I think as a result (or perhaps for other reasons) I have not experienced the "detox" symptoms that people talk about, at least not anything uncomfortable. What I am noticing though is some weight loss. What are everyone's thoughts about what people have told me that "Your body will always lose weight as it shed

I would recommend a B12 spray, from what I have read this product has the best absorption, and you get 175 servings.

I had this explained to me like this. If you are a smoker, you do not cough. If you stop smoking you cough. This is not a sign of weakness.

I have yet to meet a single 100% raw foodist who is fat (except maybe if they just transitioned), and I am eating as much of anything I want on raw, just whatever my body asks for, and I am losing fat and gaining muscle (I am training too though).

I love coconut milk, and the "flesh" of a young coconut is delicious, I eat one or two a day. I was told by a friend (who still eats them) that there is formaldehyde used in the curing process before they are shipped, unless you get the huge kind direct from Florida, which are outrageously expensive. I have searched online and have not found any definitive information. Coconut ma

I look forward to hearing about this, I did my first juice fast recently and suddenly heard from multiple people in my life about water fasting. Many blessings, I hope your fast is easy and fruitful (figuratively).

I have the same fear about the weight loss, but it turns out I have gained a few lbs now by training and eating a lot of the heavier raw foods. It has been a week and a half or so for me. I would suggest eating a whole coconut or working in coconut oil for the weak feeling, that is helping me. And even through I feel week, I have been testing myself because I am in training for the fire depa

So I am a little over a week into being 100% raw after a week long cleanse, and 5 days away from the physical agility test for the fire department. A lot of people (even raw people and frutarians) have suggested I not make this transition now, but I feel like if not now then when? I also think since I have been eating 50-80% for the last 6 months I need not worry about detox. Time will tell,
