In that case you ought to give each maiden at least one banana per day until rescued.

Rad, Sharrhan. Thanks for your help! We've been in Boston since October, and had access to some farmer's markets downtown but I had no idea there would be a farmer's market in Davis-- that's where we live. Cool. Any further information about the wholesale organic market in Chelsea?? Do you have an address? I do have a car and would definitely go there. Grezzo is only open in the eve

Hey, there. Just moved to Boston. I was wondering where you go for raw food (restaurants & grocery stores). All I know of is Whole Foods and the Harvest Co-op in Central Square.

back... not sure if I should rename this 'diary' since it's september now. I'm only like 50-75% raw but I'd like to post here anyway as it is a motivation. Looking back I've lost 13 pounds this year if I say I started out at 140 (I think I was thereabouts) and got as low as 127, although now I am at 132. I am struggling to complete my loss before the end of the year. Hopefully raw will help if I

I get the same reaction around the mouth from eating mangos- they are botanically related to poison ivy which i get a VERY VERY bad reaction from (poison ivy). I avoid the rash by drinking mango juice and eating dried mangos but hardly ever fresh (I find if I eat *skinned* mango *with a fork*, I'm okay - it's something to do with the skin and seed).

Personally I'll go out on a limb and say I'd like to see more enforcement on the boards. For those who complain, the signs that this is a vegan forum are all over the place, in fact on every single page of every single thread are these words: "This board is for the discussion of Vegan Living and Raw food related discussion" Even so, when people miss this statement, several poster

Anyone have information or opinions on whether the sea sponge tampons are (ethically) vegan? My research on sea sponges off and on over the course of several years has been very inconclusive. Would love to hear others' thoughts.

moved over the weekend, eating was weird but also weirdly regular... I had smoothies, almonds, seeds for breakfast, org. bananas and apples for snacks, vegan (healthy) burgers for lunches, and pizzas (H's with org. tomato sauce, etc.)with nice big salads for dinner. Also orange juice. Nothing like last weekend. We were both pretty sick but pushed through to lease a really nice cottage in th

I was *very* surprised about the jicama seeming so st

last night had fresh orange juice and coconut chunks on my way home. very very filling. good replacement for bread, though easy to overdo. Dinner was less than one bundle org. soba and boiled org. broccoli with olive oil and tamari. I was so full because of the coconut. I think I have to watch my calories/fat more closely because I'm not losing this week. I realize I have a long hard goal

I love beets. They can be hard to grate if you don't have any kitchen gadgets (old-fashioned cheese graters are dangerous- you end up pressing too hard and scrapping your knukles, in my experience). Here's something easy to do if all you have is a peeler. wash the beet well. They are always dirty. Use a veggie scrubber if you have one. Cut off the top, and the tail if there is one. Then p

If you want to soften it up a bit it should only take 76? degrees F- so I just leave mine out on the counter and it gets easier to spoon out. Otherwise I scrape at it then pour the bits out of the jar. It also seems to melt on other (room-temperature) food, such as melon chunks and chopped strawberries, which is how I had it today.

also yesterday night I forgot I had a salad of green leaf, mesclun, cherry tomatoes, mixed sprouts (including lentil, pea, aduki), cucumber, olive oil, lemon, salt. I love those sprouts. I would rather eat the lentil sprouts then lentils. P.S. the pizza my H has been making is as follows: homemade organic tomato sauce, asparagus, mushroom, carrot, shallot. he makes the dough which is whole whea

3 large strawberries and 2 baby bananas on the way home 2 small pieces homemade ww sd pizza 1 cup boiled kale 1/3 cup homemade giant lima beans 30 minutes on my exercise bike, yay. (10 miles) I love using the bike because it doesn't matter when I ate/how much is in my stomach, I can always do it (I prefer running but have to plan it). perhaps I had such a negative reaction because I've not ingested ANY saturated fat (except what small amount may have come accross in the rare vegan cookie?) in 7 years? ps, good point on the native peoples not looking to lose weight...

weigh 135 today. hopefully I did not only lose 'water', but I really don't mind as long as the numbers keep going down I have no appetite but I will get hungry from time to time. I choaked down about a teaspoon of coconut oil to try and get the metabolism effects from it but I'm thinking it may not be worth the queasy feeling I now get. I did notice my heart beating faster since taking it. I a

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have had a laxative effect-- but I wish I'd read about it before ingesting 2 tbs. of the stuff the day before yesterday. That experience coupled with getting a bad chest cold coincidentally was enough to make me lose my appetite for the last 2 days-- I did lose weight, but I'm not sure it was the fat! Stoner, you said you lost 4 pounds, sorry to ask a personal

got very ill Wednesday- coincidentally the coco oil I am sure "cleaned me out" as they say- which I feel stupid for not expecting- and I got a chest cold that came on at the same time. Prior to getting ill I had a little of a spinach salad but not the soaked seeds. Couldn't eat, left work early, had 2 bananas. Once home, had some rice and lentils, not much else. Thurs. fresh straw

Must try to remember that experience! dinner was one bundle soba with blanched broccoli and sauteed white and shiitake mushrooms (lots). the shiitakes were delicious raw (I had one before cooki
