This morning I had the following in place of cereal:
soaked almonds
soaked sunflower seeds
soaked pumpkin seeds
soaked buckwheat
(all soaked 8+ hours in spring water, drained)
all floating in spring water + apple juice
It was lovely.

back... not sure if I should rename this 'diary' since it's september now. I'm only like 50-75% raw but I'd like to post here anyway as it is a motivation. Looking back I've lost 13 pounds this year if I say I started out at 140 (I think I was thereabouts) and got as low as 127, although now I am at 132. I get the same reaction around the mouth from eating mangos- they are botanically related to poison ivy which i get a VERY VERY bad reaction from (poison ivy). I avoid the rash by drinking mango juice and eating dried mangos but hardly ever fresh (I find if I eat *skinned* mango *with a fork*, I'm okay - it's something to do with the skin and seed).

Anyone have information or opinions on whether the sea sponge tampons are (ethically) vegan? My research on sea sponges off and on over the course of several years has been very inconclusive.

moved over the weekend, eating was weird but also weirdly regular...

last night had fresh orange juice and coconut chunks on my way home. very very filling. good replacement for bread, though easy to overdo.
Dinner was less than one bundle org. soba and boiled org. broccoli with olive oil and tamari. I was so full because of the coconut.
I think I have to watch my calories/fat more closely because I'm not losing this week. I realize I have a long hard goal

I love beets. They can be hard to grate if you don't have any kitchen gadgets (old-fashioned cheese graters are dangerous- you end up pressing too hard and scrapping your knukles, in my experience).
Here's something easy to do if all you have is a peeler.
wash the beet well. They are always dirty. Use a veggie scrubber if you have one. Cut off the top, and the tail if there is one.

If you want to soften it up a bit it should only take 76? degrees F- so I just leave mine out on the counter and it gets easier to spoon out. Otherwise I scrape at it then pour the bits out of the jar.
It also seems to melt on other (room-temperature) food, such as melon chunks and chopped strawberries, which is how I had it today.

also yesterday night I forgot I had a salad of green leaf, mesclun, cherry tomatoes, mixed sprouts (including lentil, pea, aduki), cucumber, olive oil, lemon, salt.
I love those sprouts. I would rather eat the lentil sprouts then lentils.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have had a laxative effect-- but I wish I'd read about it before ingesting 2 tbs. of the stuff the day before yesterday. That experience coupled with getting a bad chest cold coincidentally was enough to make me lose my appetite for the last 2 days-- I did lose weight, but I'm not sure it was the fat!

got very ill Wednesday- coincidentally the coco oil I am sure "cleaned me out" as they say- which I feel stupid for not expecting- and I got a chest cold that came on at the same time. Prior to getting ill I had a little of a spinach salad but not the soaked seeds. Couldn't eat, left work early, had 2 bananas.
Once home, had some rice and lentils, not much else.
