I've been high for for a couple of months and 100% for the past two weeks (yea!!!) and have noticed that my dark brown eyes are becoming lighter and that there is a (lighter brown) ring around my pupils! I eat very simply - no gourmet raw foods, no extra supplementation to speak of at the moment, except for the occasional hemp powder or flaxseed oil. Quite fascinating!

Thanks for posting this, Suncloud! I will be checking this out, as I have MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivies) myself.

Thanks, Prism, for your shoutout to all the newbies! I lurked for a few days before signing up a little while back, trying to read all the old posts I could to get a general feel for the board and to soak up all the good info. I could. I've realised, for instance, that I don't eat as much as I probably should, but sometimes I'm really not hungry at all, so I've been wrestling with that a bit. Rig

Corizza: Great thread! I've been having skin (especially face & scalp) and lip issues as well, and it's been driving me crazy - and I highly doubt that insufficient fat in my diet is the culprit. I also have sensitive skin and am chemically sensitive,so the list of what I can use is quite limited... Flex4Life: Thanks for providing that link to Morroco Method; looks like great stuff and jus

Thanks for the video, F1! I think that the issues of detox, cravings and "slippage" should be mentioned a lot more than they are, and not just the physical aspects either. Eating raw goes waaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy beyond just eating differently; you're also starting a major upheaval of your mental and emotional states as well, and I think THAT is the thing that really kicks your butt!!! You

I thouroughly understand your confusion, but it helps to remember this: everybody - every body - is different! No raw food "program" - like everything else in life - is a "one size fits all" deal. They are, at best, only guidelines from which we then have to customise our own individual path; that we have to develop from trial and error. The fortunate few of us know how to

Thanks for answering; I just needed some confirmation! I don't want to go buy anything fancy if I don't have to at this point - I wouldn't use a processor that often anyway. This is a relief...thank you again, and have a great Thanksgiving!!!

Newbie question, here! I don't have a food processor, and, unless some major miracle happens, I won't have one anytime soon. Though I'm into eating very basic fare and cannot stomach most recipes, there are a couple pumpkin ones that I want to attempt for Thanksgiving. Would grating the pumpkin (instead of processing), then blending it (in my 11 year old Vitamix) with the other ingredients wo

Thank you so much for posting this! Dave's interview addressed a few questions / concerns that have been eating away at me for the past few days; I am feeling somewhat more secure, now,in listening to my body. I have in the past two weeks gone from a vegetarian to vegan to raw vegan diet (the later since this Thursday), and have entirely by-passed the transitional "raw gourmet" stuff, go

Congratulations on your weight loss and your strong commitment to your health and wellbeing! I do hope that you feel better soon and are able to have that tooth / your teeth taken care of in a timely manner; it sucks that you haven't been able to do that so far...

Thanks for putting all of that together. It was great hearing you address especially the issues of emotional attachment and "addiction" to the tastes of cooked food; so far in my newbie-ness the only people I've seen address this comprehensively are you and Victoria Boutenko ("12 Steps To Raw"... I'm also grateful for the emphasis (here and in other posts) on talking abut t

Thanks,F1,for taking the time to put all this together in one place. A lot more people need to see this kind of information, though the ones who need to see it most would be the very ones to think of us as weird, lunatics or downright crazy... And how exactly their "normal" diet benefit them??? I'm still in transition to mainly raw food, but have always made the effort to educa

Thanks, F1, for posting that guideline...I was actually going to ask you what your diet typically consisted of and then I saw this thread! I think its important for us also remember that every body is different; we each have to find what works best for us, and even that may vary from time to time. Its good to have a baseline and recommendations to work from, but ultimately you may have to ta

So...I am not alone! I'd been a vegetarian for a while, but am newly vegan (yea!) and and have also decided to become a raw-foodist. I've always tended towards simplicity, but got excited about a few "gourmet" recipes and decided to give them a shot. BIG mistake. I was so sick last night that I was glad I'm home alone for the week! I've also realised that the more I eat raw,

I'm fairly new to all of this, and have been reading up like crazy on this lifestyle (I don't cosider it a diet),but am really confused about soaking times for nuts & seeds; so many book authors / online info. conflict with each other. And are there some that you AREN'T supposed to soak - like pine and macadamia? I looked through the archives here but didn't see anything on this topic...
