There are lots of foods that help keep the skin supple and moist. I'm not sure if you've looked them up. I can think of flax, hempseeds, coconut, avocados... Please don't let the number on your scale guide any decisions. Your body knows what's best.

I haven't craved a single cooked food since being raw. I simply would rather have food in its whole form. There's actually a kinda 'gross' feeling about it; cooked food coagulating under heat, losing nutrients, and being so acidic to the body. It's no wonder that our bodies would naturally want the food in its original state. About the weight, I lost weight extremely quick the first week, and

Day 11 Weight 118.2 BMI: 19.7 Fasting Glucose: 4.5 mmol/L My fasting glucose seems to be jumping around. My weight seems to be raising as well. I think my body is adapting to the changes and so my water levels are back to normal. Just a guess anyways... I noticed that my nail cuticles weren't peeling today, which is great. I've been taking in less then 15% fat. It's been a challenge not

lthierga, I'd like to say that this is your body cleaning itself out, but that would only be a guess. Some advice might be to ask around to see if other people have had the same symptoms and what became of it. Great to see you're feeling well and had a good sleep. I don't have a headache yet so I'm happy. I've also bought some different fruit as you suggested. Some variety might help.

That's great to here that you're thinking more clearly. It's amazing how a diet can have such an effect on our bodies. I heard that an abundance of fruit is not a problem, but combining fruit (carbs/sugar) with excess fat is what causes diabetes and other illnesses. The fat coats the chemicals that break the sugar down causing the body to need to work harder and eventually over the years this

I find the best way to not eat sweets is to not be around them. It's just like being an alcoholic and having alcohol in the house. I got rid of my cravings many years ago by simply refusing to eat sugar. It took me about 2 months, and it was not easy, but I came through. You have a memory for taste and when you don't eat sweets for a long time you lose those cravings. As for food ideas about c

We're here for you Jackie. I know what it's like to feel alone. About the chicken, I have a saying, "Fall down seven times, get up eight." When we were young we tried hundreds of times to get up to walk, and when we fell, it hurt. We just kept on doing it and now we're running, riding a bike, driving...! Imagine if we just gave up after that first, second or third attempt. We would

* jumps in the bandwagon with lthierga and jackie * Count me in too! I've been 100% raw for a week and have had very similiar effects as you lthierga. I agree with Jackie on the bananas and carrots. Apples make an excellent substitute, are low on the GI scale, and cheap. Though I too have some ripe bananas waiting to be eaten. I'll check in now and then to see how you're doing.

Day 7 Weight 117.8 BMI: 19.6 Body Temp: 97.9 The chest was sore yesturday from exercising, and now it's fine. I'm quite sure I'm getting all the protein I need to heal properly. I woke up at 10:00am had my breakfast smoothie, then relaxed. I wasn't hungry and I make a point of not eating when I'm not hungry. To me that is just not natural. It was eventually 5:00pm and I was still not h

Things are excellent. I have no plans with eating cooked food. The benefits from raw are already quite apparent. I just received another compliment, "You have very nice eyes." I was so happy to hear this. Those eyes in the picture are really blue! It's nice to be able to talk to someone and they kinda get lost in your eyes, lol.

A girl at work told me this. I was so happy to hear it. I've haven't heard this for a very long time and I've only been raw for 4 days. I wasn't even wearing blue to make my eyes stand out, which I usually do. I've seen so many raw foodists with 'glowing' eyes and it seems to bring so much life to that person!

Day 4 Weight 119.8 BMI: 19.9 Body Temp: 97.8 Still have that low persistant headache, but I have much less nausea. I felt a little lathargic, likely to do with the low calories. I quickly did some math and I'm taking in around 1200, so I think ANY diet with that low of calories would have someone feeling this way. I'm not hungry, and the food is still great. Day 1 Weight: 121.4lbs BMI: 20.2 Body Temp: 97.8 I had too many figs. Not out of hunger, but just for calories. I felt nausous and had a headache. The apples (4 small) made my stomach sore. Could it have been the apple core that did this? I'm gonna see if I can get some bananas tomorrow, along with advocados and strawberries. I'm finding my way and the challenges are bound to happen.

I've had an ED that involved extremely restricted eating habits, so I can understand the effect food has on a persons mood. I've been recovered for a while now, and it's great.
