You can probably still get them locally, just not from out of state. (?) (Am I right?) . . . (HOPE I'm right!) It doesn't help me much either way-- I'm in the northeast and we don't grow them here. Yes, it's depressing. This seems to be the way things are heading, and we must let Congress know we're not going to take it sitting down. Someone in a position to know wrote recently that writ

This is great-- a Zen meditation retreat that's very engaging. It's divided into 10 segments of 4-10 minutes, so in total it's about an hour long.

LikeItOrNot-- >How much cheaper is it to buy in bulk? Maybe we could start some kind of co-op or something.? I can't keep paying $2.50-2.99lb for organic greens at WholeFoods.< Amen! The greens (well, everything else, for that matter) are so expensive, and I have been trying to figure out how to get together with others to buy in bulk. So yes, yes, yes, let's do!! Do you know anyone

Guys, If any of you are raw and still have brown eyes, rest assured it's okay. I know plenty of 'rawsters' whose brown eyes didn't turn green or blue.

Hi Avocadess, Well I, for one, support you! ;-) I know this board leans heavily toward 8-1-1, but it's not the only game in town. And in the mid-1990s this board was fruitarian-centric, until people started reporting some problems, at which point the paradigm changed and everyone started adding greens to the mix. Where will we be 10 years from now? The smart money is on the folks who are read

I'm sure if you get it at a reputable market like Whole Foods it won't be the watered down stuff. I notice that our co-op has bottles of agave syrup, and I'm pretty sure it's the pure stuff.

Mona, I'd LOVE IT!! Let's do it. I don't have a car, but I can take the subway somewhere, or we could meet in Central Square at Harvest Co-op in the cafe-- it's 1/2 block from the Red Line.

A rinse is not permanent, and it is a lot easier on the hair. It lasts 4-6 weeks, I think. It's not such a hassle because you don't have to just touch up the roots; you can slather it all through your hair.

jgunn-- thank you!!!! noelle-- Fabulous! I would love to meet you and other raw foodists, and have always wanted to have potlucks around here. I shop at WholeFoods quite often-- I live in Central Square and it's about 4 blocks away from me. So definitely, keep me posted.

Hey Pakd4fun-- What about using a rinse in a lighter color-- that way only the gray gets colored; it's subtle and doesn't damage your hair so much. Might be a nice compromise to make hubby happy.

Hi Noelle, Do you live in Boston? I'm in Cambridge! I haven't met any raw fooders here, so it's great to read your post. I googled New England Organic Food but nothing came up. Where is it?!?! I am really having trouble affording the produce around here-- even the non-organic is overpriced. Thanks! Sharrhan

Noelle, I'm a dark brunette, and for about 7 years I was a platinum blonde-- and I loved it. I grew it really, really long, too. I bleached it myself. However, the texture of my hair left a lot to be desired (cotton candy, anyone?) and I was getting real sick of having to use a lot of hair products to make it look shiny and keep it manageable, so i went back to my natural color. I say go

Jim, Sorry to see you go. The way I see it, the American flag has equal parts of red and blue in it: it's big enough to represent 'blue' bleeding heart liberals AND 'red' conservatives. All of this animated talk that is happening on this board right now has come about because many of us are very concerned about the fact that the present administration is infringing on the rights of the 'bl

Lemoned, Took me years of refining and 'retooling' myself so I could fast decently and get results. Little by little it gets easier, and like doing yoga or exercise, suddenly you come out of a plateau or a long stall, and you suddenly realize you've broken through major barriers. Just relax and eat healthy, then try a little fast, relax again and give yourself space to get into the rhythm of i

Thanks for posting this Suvine, I'm going to send the letter tonight. I can't urge people enough to send these letters-- if enough people write and complain, it does make them amend their decisions.

Hi Joe, A lot of people like to soak them and then dehydrate them so they get their crunch back. It's a bit of a hassle, but the soaking disengages the enzyme inhibitors.

Guys, I posted the skeptical articles because to me "magnesium oxide infused with Life Force" sounds like a silly scam. I mean really, what's so special about magnesium oxide? And 'infused with life force,' or love, or whatever. I am very spiritually oriented too, but this sounds way too woo-woo for me.

Elnatural, Forgot to say, I am actually accompanied by synthesizer on the one cut from "Voices from the Dreamtime." That was back a few years ago when my husband and I worked together (he's the synth player) and we called ourselves Soulmatrix. Before then, and since, I've been doing all solo flute and voice with digital delays. Okay, enough on my music stuff-- back to juicing!!

Yes, I saw the photos of the raw meals-- they look really great. I could definitely see you creating wonderful raw food recipes and having an incredibly thriving business. You would be such a wonderful advertisement for the raw diet, I'm sure you'd be very successful. Don't worry about 'selling out'-- just put some money aside and keep your goal uppermost in your mind, and you'll be doing it

>Hey Kwan, that is nice, but I live in Miami where tropical fruit is what we eat!< Suvine-- Just saw your post, and I'd like to respond, but I'm not sure what you were referring to in my message. (What's nice? Did I say something nice? :-p)Sometimes I wish I lived in Miamii too-- I bet you get wonderful local fruit that's really fresh.
