Hey Gossia, I'm on your wavelength!-- I don't invest in expensive kitchen stuff either. In fact, I usually go for second-hand store or Craigslist whenever possible. Nevertheless, I like to think the frugal life can be very elegant. ;-)

Codex is not just about minerals, vitamins and supplements. It's also about ruining our food supply, including mandatory irradiation of all produce. Please, don't divert your attention from this important issue; the activism of every concerned individual is needed if we're going to turn this around. Thanks for the excellent information, Aragula. I work outside extensively from May through the end of October, and I've been trying to figure out what to do about protecting my skin, especially on my face, since I'm not much of a hat person.

I did a 14 day water fast on a camping trip this past summer-- wanted to go to 21 but had to quit in order to go home comfortably. It was so awesome. Water fasting can get you in touch with your inner being in a beautiful way, and when you're done fasting, you really know precisely what raw foods you want to eat and you have control. I look forward to doing another water fast when the weather

I love orange/mango smoothies. And when I want something decadent once every couple months or so I can't resist my cacao/walnut 'brownie': ground cacao, ground walnuts, pureed rasins (mixed in a little water)-- yum. Sharrhan

<What instruments do you play?> I play flutes (C & alto) and I sing; I create music for meditation using digital delays (electronic echo boxes) that allow me to accompany and harmonize with myself in layers of sound. I'm checking my 'preview' here and wondering why my signature that I updated isn't coming up. ;-/ Guess I'll have to try to do it again later. Sharrhan

Coco Chronicles, I gave myself the name Sharrhan in 1978 when I started playing music professionally because I didn't like the name my parents gave me. Sharrhan is Hindi and it means 'refuge' or 'sustenance.' Pronounced Shuh-ron, emphasis on second syllable. So far I haven't met any one else on the web who has the same name-- at least not spelled this way.

Hi Richard, Are you drinking mostly vegetable juice on your juice fasts, or fruit juice? Sounds like you're getting a blood sugar crash. I'm on a juice fast right now-- almost exclusively carrot juice-- and it's keeping me pretty steady. When I was younger I did a lot more fruit juice and sometimes got pretty wacked out. I'd recommend diluting your fruit juice with water and finding some tas

Hi everyone, Oops, I forgot to sign my posts. Kwan is just my rawfoods e-mail handle. My 'real' name is Sharrhan. Thanks for the nice comments, guys-- and Coconut Chronicles is right, everyone looks very beautiful and vibrant in this thread. Yogamama, I'm growing my hair out now too-- looks like it's headbands and scarves for me for awhile--- ;-/ --- but it's worth it. Love,

A crappy little Cuisiniart juicer that I bought from a woman through Craigslist for $10. It works quite well, and I strain the juice after I make it so that it has very little pulp. Here's my other recent pic-- you can actually see my eyes in this one. A little winter bloat in this one, and as a 57-year-old post-menopausal chick, I vacillate between a) being philosophical about it and cutting myself some slack, and b) being tough with myself and doing juice fasts, working out, and taking extra care with the raw diet. I'm juice fasting right now-- planning on 40 days-- I

Ian, He was a raw food guru who was highly very respected, and there were (and are) hundreds, maybe thousands of people following his teachings about diet. That he died of severe heart problems with plaque-clogged artieries, as well as brown rotting teeth and many other serious health conditions-- is this not evidence? What kind of evidence would you need? Have you read the evidence? It's ver

What a sad thing to say! ("When you come across a newbie asking questions like this, its is best to ignore these threads and not give too much energy in your responses." Most of these people are in dead earnest and really want answers to their questions, and they are asking us because they think we're experienced and have something to offer them. To ignore them is arrogant and paranoi

I know 'fight' is a negative word to use but the subject line begs for a cryptic and short message. What I'm really looking to do is, in the spirit of Peace Pilgrim, who only fought FOR things she wanted, not against things, work to bring about a much better version of Codex. There are great people at the Natural Solutions Foundation (and other groups) working on this globally by both participa

Actually, sigining petitions is only one thing you can do (and I'm not that paranoid about it). It's simply a globalist agenda, to get everybody on the same low consciousness page, with an agenda that benefits the pharmaceutical and big agribusiness industries. I don't think they're smart enough to really go after people who sign petitions. It's probably even more important to educate our
