Way to go rawdancer! Compared to a couple of days ago, you're making great strides! Keep up the good work...keep trying. Don't give up on yourself...you are worth it!

I have a recipe that uses the pulp left over from sunflower seed milk for making a cookie. Mixed with carob, and agave, its supposd to make a raw oreo. I wonder if you could substitute the almond pulp?

Has anyone ever made it? My non-raw hubby requested it so I'm going to try my hand at it and see what happens.

From a purely physiological perspective, sleep is behavioral and can be programmed / reprogrammed (have you ever heard about the babies that get their days and nights mixed up...sleeping all day and awake all night). Anyway, it may take a little time, but if you are consistent in going to bed at 10pm, you should be able to awaken at 6 pm and feel rested with 8 hours of sleep. The older we get

pakd4fun...I haven't heard the Elton John song...now I'm curious. Thanks for the advice. I think that may work for me. It's the mentality of thinking "never" that usually causes one to fail. rawdancer...you did awesome! Compared to a few days ago, you're making great progress. I'm really proud of you!

Thanks rawnoggin...yeah I monitor on fit day...and I take supplements right now too, just to be on the safe side. I tried some chamomile tea yesterday. It actually helped with the cramping, but made me really sleepy. I read on a website yesterday to try raspberry leaf so I'm headed to the health food store today to see what I can find, either in the form of capsules or tea.

I don't like that full bloated feeling either so grazing throughout the day on fruits has really helped me. They digest from the system in about 20 minutes anyway so that is one of the reasons you don't gain weight eating fruit and you don't stay feeling full. So enchantress, maybe you could try eating more fruits...grapes would be easy to keep in a baggy in your pocket or beside your register if

Thanks for the encouragement girls. Actually, I feel okay today, other than still feeling tired...but no ill effects from the cooked food other than on the scale. How can 2 cups of rice equate to 2 lbs of weight gain? That concept has always astounded me! Oh well...it will be gone in a day or two. I started out my morning with a green smoothie after my walk and I really feel like I got the cravin

I think maybe the uneasiness for me is that I am somewhat of a perfectionist with tendencies toward being compulvisve...and if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it the right way and all the way. In all honesty, that is why this diet is so good for me...because it is forcing me to listen to my body and make good choices rather than living by rules which is hard at times. The funny thing a

As for my part...I am trying to lose weight. My reasons for this lifestyle are first of all health and secondly weight loss...or maybe both are number 1. I do find I get full faster on raw foods, I think because of all the nutrition. I do get off track occasionally, but the "health" issue is what keeps me on track, not the weight loss.

Cover with 2x the water and soak them over night in water. The next day, drain off the water, rinse and then put in the blender with fresh water.

Does anyone know if the juice they sell at Jamba juice is raw? I know they have wheatgrass. I don't have a wheatgrass juicer. I know a girl who just chews a little wheatgrass instead of juicing it. Does this work the same way?

99.9%...that's so cute. The only percentage I really know how to figure is 100%. Beyond that, its a mystery. Maybe because I have PMS this week and I'm craving everything in sight...I am reconsidering a goal of high raw instead of 100%. I just want to be realistic and not set myself up for failure and disappointment. That way if I make it to 100% on most days that will be great, but that will als

Well, I'll have to change the title of this diary thread because...I fell off the wagon today. 4 oranges, juiced 1 c chamomile tea ( I heard it helps with cramps) (It did...but made me sleepy) 2 pieces of raw cheesecake 1 avocado raw tortilla chips Then came the downhill slide. Once I started rolling, it was a slippery slope! 6 c popcorn 2 c vegetable fried rice 3 vegetable egg rol

Aug 14 Ouch...I fell off the wagon today. It was a gradual downward slide. I was hanging on for a while until I just fell off completely. I'm blaming it on PMS....or maybe it was that thread I posted on being "high raw versus 100%". Oh well...tomorrow is another day! I actually contemplated not being 100% honest about not being 100% raw, but for the sake of accountability, my recor

I"ve been raw since June 1 and I still feel hungry a lot of the time. I think part of it is that I'm eating a lot of fruit which digests from the system in about 20 minutes. If I eat some fats like nuts or avacados, I am full longer.

Yeah...that was my thought. Katie will be 10 years old in Dec. She is a Dalmatian mix (Dalmatian and sneaky neighbor dog...we think maybe pit bull). Other than the recurring ear problem, she seems to have some arthritis in her back legs. If she could lose weight, I think it would help her pain level. She still is very playful and most people think she is a puppy because of her playfulness. The fi

I just recently went through a scare with this. Another element of non cancerous lumps is that they change with hormonal fluctuations...the get more tender and more pronounced before the menstral cycle. Mine were fibrous...and caffeine makes them worse. I also had some milk pockets that had calcified / hardened. And then from losing weight, I had some fatty tissue...just lots of lumpiness. I had

I already walk 6 miles a day, so I think that is sufficinet exercise. I'm just trying to prepare for what is coming in the next couple of days, hoping that I can get through it without any drugs. I've been crampy for about a week now although my breasts have not swollen which is a positive change. Last month, for the first time in my whole entire female life, I had a 28 day cycle with no real PMS

I only gave her the meds for one day. They made her so sick, I couldn't bear to give them to her again. I have a topical for the yeast infection which has manifested on the inside flap of her ear. She scratches and it seems painful to the touch. No other skin rash is present. She is an inside dog so isn't bathed very often. I have some probiotics for humans. Can I give her those? If so, what woul

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. Surprisingly, I felt pretty good today although I didn't do anything differently. Here is what I ate today: 2 oranges (juiced before my walk) 2 bananas + 1 c spinach in a smoothie 1 pear hemp quesadilla (from the raw food restaurant...mostly veggies in the quesa) grapes stuffed mushrooms (from the raw restuarant...which I couldn't finish) I walked

I like Lara Bars. Most of them are not organic, but they do have a few that are. The chocolate-mint has a very strong flavor, but good. Also, I like the Raw Revolution Raw Food Bar...especially the chocolate-raisin if you need a chocolate fix ( you can't really taste the raisin).
