Karennd, Thanks for your post. No, no colon hydrotherapist - not existing in Ro. Just an enema bag - big one (2 liter/half a gallon), filled multiple times - all in all 10 liters (2 gallons and a half aprox). It took me quite a while but what can you do? What I eat? Fruit 70% - apples, peaches, melons (not much), and anything is in season mostly; then veggies - one or two small salads

Hi everyone! I have a 9mo old daughter and she seems to be allergic to something but I cannot detect the cause. She gets these red spots on her skin, like insect bites which they are not. I was told it is caused by an allergy to something she eats. She only eats fruit and veggie juices. The first time this happened it was some berries. I didn't feed her berries anymore. Then it seems it was ki

I hear you Siracusa. When people were asking me where I was from and then I heard the answer "How nice!" I always wander if they were just polite or they had no idea what coming from a former commnunist country meant. I remember times when we had only bread and margarine (not butter) at home, some awful salami and no money. Our parents did miracles of cooking with what we had and we as

I've been really busy these days: moving, buying carpet (finding the cheapest, and crappiest possible), packing all sorts of things that evade any category. Yet, I've been 100% raw for the past few days (5, including today) and I feel great.I also found some time to take care of the colonics business and it makes such a difference. Eating raw without cleansing the colon defeats its own purpose -

I agree David in principle. On the other hand you don't want to be diplomatic too. They are your relatives that you love. If they cook for you and you refuse they might be hurt. I was in the same spot as you are when I went to my mother in law, a sweet little lady of 70. Definitely she will not change her eating habits at this age. She wouldn't even understand such a thing as eating all raw. What

Hi Siracusa! I'm there with you - both newbie and Eastern European (Romania). I can recognize that humour and it is refreshing. I can unerstand the confusion as most of the promoters of some truth are/sound slightly fanatic. Try to read more of David Mason's posts or his site - it has helped me a lot. It is not your food choices that matter first- it is what your motivations and goals in life

Happyvegan, These cereals do exist in Romania but they are not much used. In the usual city grocery shops you can only find wheat (flour mostly) and corn. Probably in the countryside I might find but for a regular supply...I doubt it would work. The same for the goat milk - it is not commercialized and especially not raw, as everything is pasteurized. I'm also not excited about feeding my baby

Thank you all for the great advice! Sorry I desappeared for a while - we went in a short vacation finished short because we have to move out of our rented appartment. My daughter is doing better on eating mostly raw. It seems she was so fussy about food all of a sudden because she didn't have patience with the spoon. Now I feed her snall pieces of fruit, avocado and some steamed veggies and she

I'm back from my 3 week vacation after one week! We need to move out from our rented appartment on rather a short notice because there's no law in Romania about rentals. So...it's going to be fuun: finding a new place...hceap, fast...and then moving with our furniture and stuff...lots of stuff. I couldn't imagine that a little one can have so much stuff!! Unfortunately for the past few days eati

Dulset I was very impressed with your story. I am battling one of your problems, the depression. It's been rather serious for the past 2-3 years. I have never taken any medication for it, thank God, though I've been more than once tempted to. I've started raw, I'm somewehere around 80% raw, with a small cooked meal (one steamed/boiled vegetable a day). I've tried this before, had a pretty stro

We are leaving for a 3 week vacation today and I hope it's going to be fun. We are taking our 9mo daughter with us so less relaxing for me but...well, oh well. yesterday it was my lowest: my depression kicked in really hard. Thought I would lose it by the end of the day when the little one would not fall asleep after more than an hour of attempts from our part. Could this depression be detox as w

Aquadeco, thank you for your answer. I knew that they might get allergic to nuts at this age...is this true? She did get the allergy to some berry...I think it was blueberries...so I'm kind of cautious. I don't want to get a permanent allergy to any food. Any raw vegetable (or vegetable mix) that she can have? She totally refused tomatoes and I have no other idea except cucumbers...kind of bla

Hello friends! This is addressed especially to raw moms. I have e 9mo old daughetr. Unfortunately when she was 4 mo old I went through a traumatic time and I lost the milk so she's been on formula ever since. However of course I want to feed her the best...raw delicious food...well...not so delicious to her. I've always heard that babies love fruits and simple raw natural foods. Not mine. The

Hi you all! It seems like a strong raw/vegan community in Vancouver area. We intend to immigrate to Canada (from Romania). Hopefully papers will be done by next year. We are still looking for the place we want to settle. Although my sister is in Detroit area and it would be easier to visit if we stayed in Toronto area I'm not to happy about the climate - those long COLD winters. Can you tell m

Flora, Although we applied for immigration in Quebec because it was a shorter process (man, I could't be more wrong) we eventually intend to move into an English speaking area. Neither of us is confortable in French so...Other than that..we don't know yet. I wouold like vancouver, yet my sister and some good friends are in the US, Detroit area and it would be much easier for us to stick to thi

Yey! When I hit the bottom and cravings were so up I got a call from my best friend ever from London (she's Indian, met her in Belgium in 2002). I haven't spoken with her in ages - the occasional e-mail, picts of our families...and that's about it. I missed the gal enormously and she made me such a wonderful surprise. I feel excellent now, no more cravings, no hunger, lots of energy and my daught

I know my goal was to go every day with one small cooked meal...I didn't need it today and I had it though. Made it all worse...my cravings are up...energy down...stupid stupid stupid...help...I don't want to binge on cooked. One positive thing though: I cooked vegan for my hubby today and a cabbage salad. Dwonside - we are leaving on Saturday for a 3 week vacation. It's going to be really hard t

Earthangel, your enthousiasm is contagious! Ha..raw potatoes? I'll be frutarian if God wills before I eat raw potatoes. Yak! I was ordered by a doctor once for a stomach condition as a teenager to have a few raw potato pieces every day. It was one of the worst medicines. I try to enjoy summer and delicious cucumbers, tomatoes and spinach...and oh..all the fruits that I just LOVE. As you can see I

Oh, don't get me started on winters in Romania - potatoes, carrots, old cabbage, rice...and some more potatoes. I'm hoping to relocate to Canada next year and it's going to be a bit easier I suppose. I found the author of the book I knew: Ernst Gunter -a German it seems but I don't know if he lives in Germany actually. Nothing else yet...keep looking.

Welcome welcome! I'm a newie here too and I know what you are saying about the diary idea. Love it love it! I'm not a math fan but it sounds realistic I guess, especially if you've been trying this before and have been a vegetarian/vegan for a while. I'm still confortable at the one SMALL cooked meal per day (one steemed/boiled vegetable) and I'll let my body decide when it's ok to give that up.

Thanks guys for the support! Earthangel, I definitely do not put on any chemicals as I am pretty allergic to those on my face...clay works good and it is from a good, natural source, nothing added. I also clean my face with an organic, natural face cleaner that my sis sent me from the US. Not bad either, rather drying though. Leafdrinker, I read quite a lot on vegan eating, raw and living foo

I've been a good girl so far today - achieved my goal: raw all day except one small meal of one cooked vegetable. Today - potatoes. I boiled them, had some raw garlic over, fresh parsley and a cucumber on the side. It was ok and it stopped my cravings. I'm still detoxing, mildly though. I'm still a bit stuffed and tired. I hope it is going better soon because my 9mo old daughter is killing me wit

I'm an 'all or nothing' kind of person so I've tried to jump on the all raw wagon...I know there's no such thing ideally. And not so ideally I fell off on SAD...or SRD (I'm Romanian). I'm trying again and I have to force myself to have one cooked meal a day...lightly cooked, one vegetable. Yesterday I had cabbage, today is the potato day. I hated the cabbage but the warm feeling was great. I'

I'm so happy to hear that things might be happening in the US (and Canada). It is encouraging to see that the fast food promoters finaly start realizing what they've been doing (well, a small percentage). I'm from Romania and after the fall of communism in '89 we've been literally invaded by fast foods (especially the past few years). We've been immitating the US food history to the letter. I alr

I'm right at the detox part and I'm waiting for the healing part. I haven't been seriously ill to start with - some joint pain, which is still there. I'm stuffed up and I had a sore throat for a few days. Somnebody said you should expect one month detox for every year of bad eating. It seems like a lifetime but I see people with shorter sentences and there's hope at the end of detox, right?

It's good to hear this, David, although I actually knew it. I've been a coffee addict for...a long time. I tried giving it up for various reasons (irregular hear beats for one) and didn't manage for long. I've always been told it takes 2-4 days for the withdrawal symptoms to pass (HEADACHES). The longest I managed was 2 weeks of continuous headaches and then I gave in. Now, after being 90% and s

Hi you all! When all this happens (friends and family haressing you out of care because of your diet choices) just think that you might be lucky. It can be so much worse. I live in Romania, a "developing" country, how they try to nicely put it, and the concept of 'organic' for example is totally alien here. You cannot find ANY organic produce unless you have your own garden (as as I
