Fruitgirl.. Hey no problem mistaking me for a guy.. I am on another chat site with this same name and often over the years have been thought be a guy. I guess I've gotten use to being mistaken for the male gender. People tell me they think of things like "Custom Cars" etc hence the easily mistaken gender ... As for me when I think of Custom I think of "Custom Made by God"

Pakd4fun... that is exactly what is happening to me.. I've not lost any more weight from my initial first 4 or 5 weeks, but I am continuing to lose inches. I know muscle weighs more than fat while taking up less space.. but I've not really changed my exercise program to probably build much more muscle than what I have already.. and the cellulite as it appears that is the fat I am seeing on my bod

Hello to all... I am just curious if anyone else has experienced what I am experiencing with the fat on my body.. especially the fat on my upper legs. To date since going 50 to 80% raw about 8 weeks ago I've lost 15 lbs. But my body is changing shape, meaning things seem to be shifting even without a lot of weight loss by the scales reading. I walk 2 to 4 miles almost everyday.. and now

aqua... fruit that does not ripen, but rots instead, is due to being picked too green and not having enough sugars in the fruit to finish the ripening process. At least this is what I was told years ago when I owned and farmed an apricot and peach orchard Custom AKA Elayne

Thanks to all for the suggestions... I do think my dad might be open to a juice fast. I know he recently bought a silver bullet for juicing and has been having smoothies for breakfast... I realize I can't convince or make anyone want to do something differently.. It has to be their choice.. Often tho, if someone doesn't know there are other choices available.. they continue in the same vein, (i.

I've read many posts on here about healing through mono eating, water and fruit fasting. I need help talking to my dad about trying this to regain his health. Last year he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer. He opted for the radiation seeds. Well, he is cancer free, but the radiation burned holes in his colon and they can't get the bleeding stopped. They've tried many different types of drug

Byran.. Thank you.... So another question for you... how many years raw? how many years 100% raw and how long did it take you to work up to eating that much food? And lastly, I know many have given suggestion on here on how to start out.. but could you please, once again, outline some suggestion on how to start out. Right now I am eating just one slice of watermelon in the morning. Then eating a

Devric.. also thank you for sharing about craving cigarettes. I've not smoked in over 10 year. It was a nasty habit I hated even when I did partake.. Over the last several weeks I've been craving a cigarette and also alcohol and couldn't figure it out. Perhaps, my body is finally letting go of the stored nicotine. I don't know. Custom

Interesting thread, thanks Bryan for the article. I was curious if you'd list a typical day of eating. As I read posts of what people eat the amount seems huge. But now it does make sense why this is the case after reading Dr. Graham's article. I certainly am not there yet. Having only been at this for about 6 weeks and still struggling with social pressures in and around me to deviate from my pl

Could I make a suggestion to this post and other posts I've read that use acronyms. Since I am new to raw foods and also to the world of vegan in general it would be helpful to have people spell out an acronym when first used for those of us less informed... like Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). On this particular acronym it was easy to find on the net.. But others such as AGEs in another thre

Dude... you mentioned eating a small amount of fried foods the evening before your restless nightmarish night of bad dreams. I can attest that when I deviate off raw and eat something cooked, or eat a grain product such as bread or say cooked food that has been breaded that I have terrible nightmares. I attribute this to the cooked food not the raw food. When I eat entirely raw I fall asleep

Hello All, What a great thread!! I know I am very very late for this important date, but do hope it's not too late to join in. I've been away on vacation for the last three and 1/2 weeks. Just now, today, back at home and starting back 90-95% raw. Vacation eating was challenging, however I did really well and probably maintained about 70% raw the entire time. This was in the face of night

sandwiches when I was a kid consisted of butter and cheese only on white bread. I hated lunch meats, mustard and mayonnaise. As a kid and adult, butter only on my pancakes.. and I used to like my pancakes raw in the middle with no browning on either side. Talk about a tall order to give my father to cook, if they had the slightest bit of brown on the cake I would not eat them. my mom also

rawdev.... my calorie intakes varies from under a 1000 (which I think is too low) to probably 1500 calories a day.. when I first started calculating on fitday.com I was way too low.. it would be right around 500 calories a day if I didn't add in any fats in the form of nuts seeds or avocadoes. Right now after eating lunch I am sitting at only 400 calories.. and 100 calories of that is a natural

Thanks everyone for the great input.... I think for now I will maintain a vitamin intake of calcium and B complex until I feel I don't need them.. I also take MSM for joint pain relief. Khale... I was trying to follow closer to an 80-10-10 diet. But perhaps, I am jumping the gun on that after reading what you said about good fats helping to eliminate the bad stored fat from my cells. I had ca

Hello all... Since I am new to raw (4 weeks) and at times struggling. I am wondering how a person gets all their vitamins and minerals needed for a healthy functioning body. I am attempting to cut down on my fat consumption, by eliminating nuts and seeds, but it sets me up for feeling really hungry (I know fat is good at producing satiation) but that is another topic in itself. Back to the vit

Thank you all for the warm welcome.. and I too enjoyed reading these post and getting to know a little bit better the person behind the name... I am sure as time goes on I will have lots of questions that I'll want to ask.. Probably need to start those questions in a new post... Great to hear there are animal lovers and horse lovers on this site. Currently I have three horses, one which is m

Wow, you say I can only go back 20 years?? Well here goes...First I am a newbie to this site and a closet raw foodist.. Heaven forbid people here in my small small community would know that I am not eating meat, let alone that I don't eat salads dripping in mayonnaise, margarine and grease. (Although that is exactly what I have been doing for the last year) But my body has been rebelling
