also had some sugar snap peas and a banana. why does everything cooked taste bland now? I was really craving something satisfying, almost ordered a vegan burger with fries, but just the idea of it seemed so heavy and gross. At the same time I don't want to eat more and more nuts. I wanted a raw "preparation/entree" like I had at bonobo's but no luck in midtown, so I settled for the

weekend #2 not so good again- lots of changes going on at home means I don't cook for myself like I should. I end up eating bread and almonds to get by, though I try to focus on bananas, juice, apples, and carrots when I have them. I had my soaked seeds, juice, smoothies in the mornings and salads with lunch, but I end up going so long without food while we discuss buying property or a house that

Asparagus is wonderful raw. I like it by itself, but I've also had a lucious raw asparagus (cold) soup I made from a cookbook. Will try to find the recipe. But my experience is that some raw vegetables which are difficult to digest in their whole raw state (you mentioned spinach, asparagus, there are others) are much easier to digest when juiced or blended, which is what was done with the asparag

I woke up and had a few sips of cranberry-mix juice and a banana, then a 16 oz organic english breakfast tea with soy milk. Organic coffee with organic soy milk and two "raw" sugars (I don't think this is raw nor do I think my coffee is raw, organic or no. Just keeping tabs on myself). I'm going to post here what I eat each day as I try to make this month 90% raw 5 days out of 7, and at least 60-75% raw on weekends. Last weekend didn't go so well, but today (as always) I have a fresh start. My goal, ultimately, is to lose 25 pounds and get back to my lowest weight, 115, which at 5'3" I think is quite appropriate. As well I have in the past used raw foods to rid myself of u

The salad had 2 t. olive oil in it too. at 4:00 I had another 8 oz blueberry smoothie. Biked 6.5 miles back home from work. Once home, I had some mamey sapote (soo sweet!)- two thick slices. one of the slices I put in a smoothie with 2 bananas and 3/4 cup orange juice. For dinner I had the same asparagus soup as last week, only double (2 c. chopped asparagus, 2 T olive oil, etc).

thanks, karennd, that makes sense. I think the pre-raw diet will work for me in the long run. I was just experimenting to see if this would 'kick-start' any weight loss, fitness, skin health, etc. as I have heard so much about lately. After one week it seems I feel good, but just as good as I would have had I gone by my above diet with no 'cheating'. That said: 10:45- 8 oz blueberry smo

My current/forever/pre-raw diet, at least basically, is this: AM: cooked 7-grain porriage and one or two pieces of whole raw fruit (plum, apple, banana, pear, peach, etc). LUNCH: big salad of leaf lettuce or spinach, tomatoes, cuke, carrots, "crunchy" sprouts or cooked chickpeas, avocado, dressing SNACK: another whole raw fruit such as above or fruit salad, handful of raw almo

Honestly as long as I am alone with no social pressures eating raw seems really easy. I've cooked for myself for 5 or 6 years now (I mean more than rice-a-roni, which is what I grew up on), and though many times in my life I've had no trouble cooking, this year I've just hated it. This week has been a breeze in terms of food preparation. On top of that I fight compulsive eating/binge eating on a

Lunch at 1:30 was the same lasange recipe, which held me for a few hours (very satisfying). Later I had a small handful sunflower seeds, 2 slices cantaloupe. Just now (7:45) I had a small banana. Not sure what I'll have for dinner, but I feel stuffed.

ok, a little out of control. I had the same recipe almond milk (1/4 c.almonds, 3 dates, 1c.water), some amount of coconut, now I'm drinking a smoothie of two small peaches and 2 c. orange juice. I'm not eating again until 2 pm, which will be a salad. I am not holding the same standards for myself as I do at work.

Finished off yesterday with a whole pint of dried "just blueberries" and a chocolate lara bar. I didn't think it was possible to binge on raw foods but I really felt bad (mostly emotional). DAY 6 Trying a cleansing breakfast of fruit: 4 big slices of watermelon and 3 slices cantaloupe. Probably some almond milk later.

Rode 9 miles home in the rain. Had some pecans on the way home, just a few, and a Lara bar (I was starving because it took me almost 3 hours to get home because I was trying to wait out the rain). Then once home I made the raw lasange recipe, I didn't heat it at all, and it's fine just the way it is: a bed of spinach with pine nut cheese (1/2 cup pinenuts) and a tomato sauce made from sundrie
