Please, please be careful. You can make a dog really ill by feeding it an alkaline diet. Their short digestive tract is created for an acidic environment unlike ours. Unfortunately its obvious that Ann Wigmore dyed her hair. Plus I have a beautiful friend that is totally raw and her hair is a gorgeous silvery mane. I think as we age nothing looks worse than dark hair, better natural. Possibly the raw diet can contribute to holding off the gray but personally I am raw and my hair has loads of silver in it but I am proud of it and often get compliments. anne

Polyholic what foods did you finally find helped your dog? I think I will ask our holistic vet to test mine to see what he may be allergic to altho currently no big issue if I stick to what I am giving although he still likes to lick his forelegs and chest and sometimes nibble on high legs but fortunately nothing that creates a big problem and often he doesn't do it. dogs have an acidic system vs our alkaline system. They NEED the acidity of animal foods. Your dogs on totally vegan diets will suffer with bladder stones!!! Its a great idea but unfortunately it will end up hurting them. anne

Hi, I just want to say that my dog gets a cup of raw, crushed (thru my GreenLife) veggies/sunflower and pumpkin seeds daily and he does get a vegetarian meal for breakfast but also gets some meat in his evening meal. Hi, I try to eat mostly raw but do eat some cooked. My question is regarding my low blood sugar which usually makes me reach for a piece of cheese (organic raw cheddar) so would like ideas for alternatives. 10. allergic dog
I recently adopted a 10mo labX and he was itching/biting himself when I got him,vet checked for fleas/mites/worms/etc. He had been fed kibbles that included chicken/rice or lamb/rice. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions and what you feed. I am not against feeding meat, my prior beloved dog ate raw meat/veggies but also some well cooked brown rice or sweet potatoes. Thanks for any input
