Excellent point. I really appreciate your opinion. I need to train my mind more as it is seeing things too black and white.

You could try raw extra virgin cold pressed organic coconut oil. It does wonders both for your skin and scalp. Smells good too. To read about the benefits go here: I use it for smoothies and skin care. :-)

Well, my attempts to stay 100% raw have failed. I felt like it was too stressful to try to be absolutely 100% raw and if I didn't try so hard I would do better somehow. So I allowed myself to eat sprouted bread and hummus which are not raw as well as some slow cooked (low temperature) Quinoa. After two days of eating these things I am experiencing some strange activity in my body. I woke up i

I'll try to run it on low and hopefully the contents don't bounce all over the place. I soaked it in soap water for about 10 minutes. That smell is really strong. I guess it's okey if nobody else got sick from it.. I am very sensitive to chemicals and smells though..

I just received my Vita-Mix blender in the mail. I notice that the rubber lid smells really rubbery/chemical-like. I soaked it in warm soap water for a while and rinsed but it still smells really strong. I am not a fan of synthetics and have had some allergic reactions to latex in the past. I am a little paranoid about drinking or eating anything from this thing because of the lid material.

I am curious to hear how often you get upset stomach when on raw vs. eating cooked? I have had almost no upset stomach while on raw. Before going raw I would be sick with some type of stomach flue every other day almost.

The only thing my cat eats is raw beef (organic when possible) and some raw salmon whenever I can get it. Occasionally, I also give him raw eggs as is. He is super healthy and has never seen a vet. He is 3.5 years old.

Bikini: Thanks for the great tips! I love Rawvolution, their foods look amazing. I have to look into glaser farms also. Fresh: That research is very interesting and makes sense. So far I am feeling pretty good even after eating the sprouted bread. Of course I would rather eat raw bread instead. I live very remotely so there is no whole foods or any special stores around. I may have to just

Sounds like you you need to figure out what's most important to you in this life. I simple terms, sickness equals death and health equals life. If you are not healthy and alive, you cannot accomplish the things you want to do in this life. Health is the basis, the ground for everything. Without it you are lost. When you eat the things you know are bad for you, you are choosing death instead o

Thanks for the responses. This is what I suspected also. I eat tons of fruit so I don't think it's lack of carbs.. Maybe just a comfort thing. I have always loved bread. I am definitely gonna try the raw bread when I find it.

Do you ever have raw oatmeal? If so what do you put in yours? I am expecting some raw oats to arrive soon which I ordered online.. I plan to soak them overnight and then add cinnamon and coconut oil/butter in it.

I have had the hugest graving for eating bread and grains for two days and today I finally couldn't take it anymore and bought some sprouted bread and ate it with some lettuce and greens. This is the first "cooked" thing I have eaten in weeks. I am trying to go with listening to my body and after trying to block out the messages for two days I finally just gave in. I've also had a de

For Woodfe: My cat has been eating raw meat and fish ever since he was a kitten. I get organic stake for him and chop it up real fine. It's actually cheaper than canned cat food. One steak will last him for a week when chopped up finely enough. There was a time when the neighbor had to pet sit for few days and she had been feeding him regular canned cat food against my advise and he was throw

I always eat just fruit in the morning. Anything that's in season. I eat as much as I need to not feel hungry. Today: 1 mango, 2 peaches. For lunch I eat salad with mixed greens and whatever veggies I happened to find. I use olive oil and lemon for dressing. Today: Salad mix, Bell pepper, avocado. In the afternoon I am craving sugar so I munch on dates..sometimes a lot of them and have som

Have you tried raw almond milk instead of the soy? It's better for you. I just ordered some yacon syrup from Sunfoods and it is soo good. It has a bit of cinnamon added to it. Would make a great healthy coffee sweetener as apparently it is the only sweetener that does not feed Candida. I get instant problems from stevia and agave nectar.

Lol! The reason my cat looks so energetic is because he is on raw food too. He has been raised on raw ever since he was a kitten. I can assure you, he has not had any coffee. ;-) I have been off coffee for 2 years but sometimes feel like picking it up again. I feel like I need at least one vice or I am being too hard on myself. Now that I am raw, I seriously have no evil habits left in my l

Here is what I've learned about Distilled water: It is not recommended for long term usage because it has no bio available minerals. If you drink it on regular basis you need to supplement with plant based ionic minerals to replace the electrolytes. The PH of distilled water runs between 5 to 5.5, so it is as acidic as tap water basically. Whenever I would drink distilled water, the next d

I also don't use sunblock and try to get at least 30 minutes of sun everyday. I have super fair skin and haven't had problems yet. As long you don't get burned you should be fine. According to my understanding, the only way for your body to utilize vitamin D is via sun exposure and not via supplementation contrary to what many people claim. Also, the reason raw foodists are not as prone to il

I don't eat much fat at all, mostly just veggies and fruit, an avocado here and there. Somebody told me that it's a sign of protein deficiency. What can you eat for protein that's raw? I don't like taking protein powders..

Thank for this information Jono! I heard sesame seeds are high in calcium. I also just bought a Vulvic Mineral Complex (Liquid) with Calcium and Magnesium. Hope that will help too, although I don't think it can be considered raw.

I just recently read that all raw fruits and veggies have some amount of mold in them which feeds Candida. I also read you should soak them in grapefruit seed extract prior to eating because of this..hmm. Well, that is a pain the ass because I like to just munch on those things raw & organic and sometimes even forget to rinse them altogether (I know -bad!). How big of a concern is t

Heh..Thanks for the youtube episode on raw oatmeal. Very funny. Too bad these ladies don't really go into much detail about the ingredients they are using. I have no idea where you can find the raw oats still.. I am afraid to consume anything that's cooked now in case I get sick..

Thanks for your help. I have suspected of being allergic wheat or gluten. My old diet consisted of a lot of wheat products and I was sick a lot. How do you make raw oat meal? Do you know where I can find raw oats? None of the health stores I have been to seem to have it.

I have been eating raw for almost 3 weeks now and had a little slip yesterday. I ran out of raw things to eat and made some couscous and ate a little of it. I am not sure whether my symptoms are from eating something raw that was bad or eating that little bit of couscous, but I am having some nausea and diarrhea today. Could it be my body reacting to eating something cooked? How does yo
