I accidentally found this forum when I was in the market for a new blender and researching good ones. One thing led to another.

Yeah, but then people would just argue that people weren't "eating right" to begin with if they were deficient in b12. I don't think "natural" is the right word

I lol'd @ some of the comments and the Linkin Park music. Or maybe it's because I know too much about the band and the real meaning behind the "crawling" song and well..they're not exactly vegan.

If I have a sugar craving, sweet fruit will not really cure the craving. But if I regularly keep up on eating sweet fruits which is usually overripe bananans blended into a smoothie.. I don't ever get the sugar

My first fast was 30 days. I've done short and long ones. Once you get past a week, it gets easier and you feel more and more good that you don't want to stop. Your body tells you when it's had enough by bringing back hunger pains and you just feel the need to eat. From what I had read, your body doesn't get into any intense cleaning/healing until after a few weks. The longer you do it, the de

Cravings can drive you insane though and lead to binges elsewhere in your diet. I'd just find the best substitute that would be right for you. Agave, Cacao, Raw Honey.. something. Are strawberries sweet to you? How about bananas and frozen strawberries blended into a smoothie or icecream? I sometimes use maple syrup. Disagree with what is written above. It might not be "raw" but y

That's what turned me off about raw when I first learned of raw too. Everyone was making all these complicated mocked cooked food dishes and I did not "cook" when I ate cooked. Most of the cooked things I ate were cooked by someone else. LOL. I rather just eat a stalk of broccoli than blend and add "raw" spices and seasonings and whatever else. I don't think of "meals&quo

I buy non-organic greens in the summer from local farms. They're cheaper, bigger and better looking than some of the organic stuff that gets shipped from CA to the east coast. I just juice them when they're non-organic. I believe the studies that say that the pesticides are stuck to the outside like glue and if they can't wash off easily, they're not being squeezed into the juice. they're stu

1-2 days. Make sure to store it in a glass ball canning jar..keeps more air out. Look into getting a pump or something to suck the air out of the jars. What kind of juicer do you have? I have a Green Star which isn't fun to clean. When I go on juicing sprees, I just set an hour aside to juice first thing in the morning..make a few extra glasses to put in the fridge for the day and then I clea

With raw, I have gotte myself to the point where I can try new foods and eat things plain like lettuce without salad dressing. But I still find certain textures unappealing. Most of the things I blend are just things I don't want to eat normally. When I was a kid, I ate "cherry" flavored candy, drinks and everything. But I still don't like whole cherries. Sometimes I make smoothies &qu

Why the tomatoe sauce? Did you try a raw version? Just asking because when I started raw I kept having insane cravings for pizza. Oddly enough I found if I just blended tomatoes that it went away. It wasn't the pizza I wanted..it was the tangy-ness of the sauce. Only certain tomatoes did it for me..some were blah tasting.

You can't go by the RDA. That was made for people who pour salt on almost everything they eat. Sodium from celery isn't the same as someone who pours a few packets of salt on their french fries.

Don't pay more per pound than what Whole Foods or your local CoOp sells it for. I did the internet thing once of looking for small farms, farmers markets thinking I'd get better quality and prices but in some cases it just wasn't true and I went back to Whole Foods. A lot of their in season products are "local", just more "local" than I'd drive myself..within the nearest f

Detoxing. Drinking lots of water and stuff. I have a straight 6 days straight off from really having to do anything..even my work is super easy this weekend. So trying to take advantage. I don't celebrate Thanksgiving or any holidays simply because my family sucks. Most people are thankful for their families and the time they have and some of us just don't have that. Some people don't have fo

Whatever. I like carrot juice. I don't like most smoothies due to the pulpy or thick texture nor do I like adding so much water to water it down. A simple 8-16oz drink would turn into a 32-64oz drink. Personally, I am not worried about carrot sugar. Anyway - the original question was "Has anyone had any improvement in their vision since eating raw? " Seems other than me and bananawho

Looking for new mugs or tumblers that are usually used for coffee/tea. Other than Kleen Kanteen and glass ball jars, what else is there? I was in Barnes and Noble today and was looking at the products in their cafe..so far it's the only store I've seen selling things like that without a "Made In China" label slapped on the bottom but I don't want to pay $25 for something if it still
