That's funny (synchronicity) how in Tamukha's post above she metions "can only imagine how at sea it must feel" when the first thing I thought of when I read your post is for you to live near an ocean, one that has a healthy amount of iodine (a large kelp bed off the shoreline) in it. Have you read any of the info. from the "Iodine Dr.s?) like Drs. Brownstein, Abraham, and Flec

When I watched All Creatures Great and Small or any other British show that showed their thick malty beers..it made me want a pint too! In the very olden days they used to make beer that they said was good for anyone wet-nursing..(breastfeeding). Love, Prism

I've experienced fluid filled cyst and I can tell you it was putrid when it finally was expelled. Cysts on the brain are pretty much same thing, fluid filled. I think it's the toxic waste lands of our body gathering in some fatty locale that can keep it at bay from other parts of our bodies. I also think it can be other things that are being surrounded by our body defenses like parasites,

Depends on the vision you have for your life. Do you have a goal to not drink alcohol but still visit and have fun with the same friends or do you want to extricate yourself out of that realm and into something new? I think that you are only seeing this particular group as being what most people typically encounter for their recreational hours. I don't think that's the case. There are many oth

With cancer how can one know what will work for sure? If there were a sure fire cure for all cancers (Hulda Clark thought she knew) there would only be survivors of cancer. Mostly it may as you say Coco come down to one of the most important things is to stay in a positive frame of mind. I know that you know when you post anything on a public forum you have to weed out the bad to get the k

High raw is when a person is getting 75% or more of their calories from raw foods. The balance is from 'other' foods. Love, Prism

I always feel welcomed here and when I went to raw food potlucks. I've never been 100% raw foodie..just days at a time..mostly was high raw but struggling now. I think the raw food community at large are very warm and caring and nurturing individuals. We have people that are in various stages of their own journey. For a movement to grow it needs to be inclusive and not exclusive and the ra

I saw a news story not long ago about fresh cabbage juice (they had to mix it with other things to make it more appealing) cured ulcers. I think it was a prison dr. that tried it on his patients and all of them were cured. Love, Prism

Yeah..isn't that great! In the book Sugar Blues I read years, and years ago it also stated that if refined white sugar was being introduced now it would get sanctioned as a controlled substance. I don't recall exactly how it was put but that was the gist of it. Love, Prism

My friend lived with cancer for over 8 years. The best she ever felt was the 30 days at a Gerson resort..I think she went to the one in Fallbrook, Ca. but I'm not sure. She didn't stay on the protocol though. Then there is George Malkamus who cured his cancer many years ago, and his protocol is at hacres.com and they have health ministers all over the country. Another thing I heard recentl

John Kohler uses his in his produce garden at his home. He tests his produce with the Brix..but I doubt he's throwing away produce that is not optimal. I wonder if the biggest gain to using the refractometer is learning the optimum conditions for soil, plant feeding, best types of seeds to plant for optimum produce. Here's a really dumb question..but I'll ask anyway..what if someone wants to

It seems that a lot of people are willing to buy produce that may be a little funny looking, not the color they are used to, not as shiny, and maybe even not as ripe if it's organic. Holding that farmer to a standard of perfection may do more harm then good in the long run. They have plenty enough to worry about. Using the Brix for their benefit for an overall view of their crops year to year in

Thanks Jodi for the links. So raw foods seems to get even more complex! When I first read about raw foods what grabbed me was the simplicity of the diet. Anyway, if people want to play and use their Brix..I have no problem with that. It's interesting learning about the process. I might even like to play around with it too. Maybe if you were growing your own food then it might really hel

People get dependent on something and in this case it could be their SAD and while they may agree that more fresh produce is a good thing many are too fearful to think what they would eat if they let go of their main source of protein. Love, Prism

You have posted that link at least twice on different posts..and it promotes a SAD so what is that all about? This is a vegan/raw food website. My above post stands though..what was remarkable to me was the glow and health people who were following a high or all raw food diet exhibited. Love, Prism

If you have the links to John's vids using the refractometer..post one or 2 here if you would be so kind. Tamukha..what do you buy rock hard mangos for? Do they ripen? I always have bought only mangos I thought were ripe and while some were a little firm around the stone mostly they were ripe. Love, Prism

Thanks Geo for the info. and I also appreciate that you use the Brix at home. I wouldn't want to be an unsuspecting person that buys a punctured piece of fruit. As to the ripeness of our produce, sometimes you just have to get items that are picked unripe and some ripen after being picked like bananas and pears, some things don't ripen. Many times I want to buy some degrees of ripeness..sin

How would one be able to check at the store or market? Isn't it an invasion measure and what happens if it's not optimal to buy that piece of fruit..do you leave it there for someone to come along and buy it? Then of course what if you are buying a lot of one thing..like 20 oranges. And many times I've bought a watermelon that may have been a little unripe on the outer portion but is perfect

Just a thought since I don't know much about the B-12 issue. If one has to get a shot of B-12 because of an inadequate vegan diet, then what makes the raw food diet ideal? When I first read about a raw food diet, it just sounded so right to me. There is some missing link I feel about the B-12 issue. How does a cow or does a cow need to ingest B-12? Love, Prism
