Ilovejen -it's because you said "no or light menstruation" that made me wonder. If there are times you don't release any blood, it could be that you're ovulating nonetheless. If you tracked your body temp., you'd know for sure. I'm really curious to hear personal experiences about this, so if you ever decide to record it, let us know, okay?? Cheers!

The sesame I have is organic, Orphee brand. I love it, but I have tried oils that burn, and that's just weird - makes me think there are processing chemicals left in the oil, though that's probably not the reason it burns. Jody - wayy off topic, but did you hear about the high level of arsenic in wells in the Fraser Valley?

I never used to bother with washing produce, unless it was convenient and sometimes people commented on my lack of hygiene there. But I felt as you do, that the power and goodness in it well-compensated me for the chems in it. I was wondering on Wren's behalf, since I still think it makes more sense to eat it, organic or not.

Oh nik, I have extreme sensitivity to chemical scent, too and it's terrible to live with! I can feel the chemicals in my sinuses and on my face immediately. I splash with water and clean my nose, as soon as possible afterward. Anyway I've been doing much better since going raw. Coffee and chocolate made it many times worse. Doing cleanses helps enormously and I have planned several more. Pe

I've lately had a strange experience with my beloved organic parsley : I use lots of parsley in smoothies and also munch on the stems - I love the fat, juicy ones and my bird loves the hard, stringy ones. Lately when I munch the stems, I've been surprised and disgusted by the taste of cilantro instead of parsley! I see no difference in the appearance of the leaves, but about a third of the

Hey Cy and Jodie! - Thanks, I've been using sesame oil, but only tried it a few times. Yesterday I pulled twice, while skinbrushing, and an hour later I felt flu-ish. Today I have a 'pimple' on my arm.... so I must have stirred up toxins. I've decided to oilpull twice a day. I will try sunflower oil if I can find a good one at Capers. It's hard to pull oil around the lower molars -

Arugula, do you feel much different eating non vs. organic produce? Do you take any extra care with it, like washing it with hydrogen peroxide or...?

I didn't read much of this thread, just a few bits. I'm sure the links are great but I haven't read them. I was just responding to the positive self-esteem I saw.

For people who have had success with oilpulling....could you please post the brand and type of oil you used? I know what kinds are suggested but I haven't found exactly those types on the shelf and want to begin soon.....

Yes, I can't eat store-bought (picked unripe) fruit. A couple of months ago, I ate tree-ripened plums from a neighbour's tree and I felt great with them.

I wonder if your body is actually using your cleansing raw diet and oil pulling to get rid of a load of toxins right now. I feel so bad for you, since tooth pain is one of the worst! Seems like a good thing to keep oilpulling as much as necessary - sure works the mouth muscles, doesn't it! Did the abscess start after you started oilpulling? It couldn't be a coincidence if so, could it? It w

Wow that is WONDERFUL!!! That's such a nice story to read!- that you've lost almost a hundred pounds since June - I would think all the others in TOPS would be jumping over themselves to find out your methods. I need to reaffirm my raw diet sometimes too - I reach a plateau or whatever. Well I enjoy reading your diary and am always happy to hear about your successes. Hope you resolve

Hi Michelle - seems like to do the samba you have to imagine you're a maraca being shaken by some giant hand! Def requiring practice! The fisherman joke - yeah that is a coincidence! I'm surprised and impressed that it's in an Eng. text! I have seen webphotos of cacao beans and pods, but after buying a bag of the nibs, I am surprised there is anything sweet in the pods!! I was wondering whether oil-pulling would you help your teeth Pampam, since I read that someone restored their mouthful of rotten teeth in about 6 months by oil-pulling 2-3 times a day. But you never know if what you read on the net is accurate or due to some other cause, etc.

For insect repellant, we've used catnip essential oil (in a carrier solution) with astounding success in and around Vancouver, BC. It is said to to 10 times more effective than DEET. But my son said it wasn't effective enough when he worked in the Yukon (where the mosquitos hunt in swarms) for 3 months last summer.... I'm not sure, he tends to like to blend in with the crowd so he may hav

You only use a high amount of oil for the cleanse, not daily. High dietary fat is different than using it once a month or so for a liver cleanse. Anyway, read about it on curezone or whatever, and decide for yourself - I just wanted to give my view, and of course others will differ. Best of luck whatever you decide.

Hi Cy, Shazzie has photos of her use of this product: it's for moles and warts, etc. I was thinking of buying some (and a friend wants to try it too), but I don't think my skin will heal the scab too well right now and I might wait for a few months to try it. We were going to try it on some moles. They say it doesn't hurt much to use it, but it looks like it burns a little!

IMO: Restore your hormonal function through CLEANSING (like clay colon cleanses, oil and lemon liver cleanses, kidney cleanses, etc) to allow your organs to do the work they're trying to do. Cut down FAT intake - it's very disruptive to digestion and body functions. Read up on cleanses - there are many people who think they're unnecessary, but I had remarkable results with a simple 10 da

It's not that your hormones malfunction when you're clean and raw, so you still have a fertile cycle, and you can still get pregnant. A highly-efficient body doesn't use blood in the scant menstrual discharge, it performs its functions without the mess, fuss, or drama that most of us have known during our cycle. Its a common misconception that no blood = infertility, but the truth is, we

Fresh posted a cute joke about values, here it is: A fishing boat was docked in a tiny coastal village south of the border. An American tourist complimented the local fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them. "Not very long", answered the fisherman. "Then why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the American. The man sai
