Since going raw (about 80%) for one month, my weight has stabilized...no weight loss. I still need to lose at minimum 25lbs but would like to lose more like 40lbs. In the past 6 months I've lost 40lbs on Weight Watchers and I'm concerned now that my weight loss has STOPPED! Prior to going raw, I was steadily losing each week. DO you have to be 100% to lose weight? Maybe that is my downfall. I wou

I am looking for some simple, daily menu suggestions. I have had a problem with buying too much and food spoilage. I've tried my dehydrator a few times but the food always tastes fermented. I'm okay with breakfast and lunch...mostly need some easy dinner suggestions.
Thanks

Asferebee,
I'm looking for the same thing...your previous diet sounds like mine. I am having a hard time giving up bread & cheese. I do a fruit smoothie for breakfast (1/2 cup almonds chopped in blender, add 1-2 cups of filtered water, frozen organic strawberries and 1-2 bananas). This is very filling. I eat fresh fruit through out the day. I do okay until about 3ish when I want FOOD.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 1997 and was bedridden for several years. I have progressively improved with diet and exercise over several years to the point of being almost painfree for the last 5 years.
I was feeling really good and stable until the first of this past June when I did the Master CLeanse and decided to go raw. Since then I have been about 80% raw. I have had terrible jo

I read that reducing fat can help stalize hypoglycemia. How much fat at day would that be? I have limited nuts but tend to eat avacadoes. Is there anything particularly good for fibromyalgia...especially the pain and depression?
Thanks

426. Re: Bread Cravings
Brendan,
Do you have a recipe for live Ezekiel bread? I have one for the traditional, but I'm not sure how to convert it. The other breads I've tried to convert in the dehydrator didn't work.
Thanks.

I read in a raw food book (can't remember which one...sorry) that you should NOT eat apple seeds because they contain cyanide.

Rosemary,
How do you eat the buckwheat or groats? Do you just soak them and eat them or do you add something to them?

I was having the same problem and some folks on this board suggested that I eat more fruit. So...I start my day (5am) with fresh orange juice and a fruit smoothie about 8am. Then I have a fruit snack about 11 and then fruit for lunch and an afternoon snack. I save my veggies for dinner. I also snack on nuts sometime. This has helped me to stay full and not lose my energy in the late afternoon. I

Food has become such a social part of our culture. When we don't "join" in what others are eating, it becomes somewhat of a social stigma. It's crazy, but that's the way it is. I don't give explanations, just say, "no thanks" or substitute if possible, without telling anyone "why". If someone asks, I'll tell...but then they still think you're "different" if

I just got mine and haven't gotten an electric bill yet. I fire it up about 2x a week and try to keep it full, so as to utilize it all at one time. I tend to use it in the evening and then overnight. I keep it in my laundry room so it doesn't heat up the kitchen and the noise isn't bothersome.

I am new to raw...about 2-3 weeks. I do really well from breakfast through lunch with fruits. About the middle of the afternoon and on into the evening I am ready to eat the paint off the walls. Any suggestions for making the afternoons and evenings more barable? Part of my problem is that I don't really like a lot of foods and I'm having to change my eating habits. I tolerate salads and don't re

435. Bread Cravings
I grind my own wheat etc. and bake all of my own grain/ bread products. Since I am still doing this for my family, I am having a hard time dealing with the cravings...especially the smell of the bread while it is baking. I tried using the dehydrator but it didn't work with the recipe. I'm doing really good with fruits and vegetables, but bread is definately my downfall. I'm telling myself it isn'

436. want to lose weight
I'm new to raw. Previously I was on Weight Watchers and losing 2lbs a week. Since the switch, I've stopped counting or weighing foods, but I'm not losing. I read about people not watching what they eat and dropping tons of weight. i still have about 30lbs to lose, so I'm concerned. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Bryan, Greenie & Fresh,
Thanks for the input. I think I've been going on the WW mentality and worrying about the sugar in the fruit. I will eat more and see what happens. I love fruit so that should be easy. Thanks again!

I haven't figured the calories, but usually 2 bananas, 1 cup of strawberries...maybe a fig or two. The rest nuts, seeds & veggies. I haven't lost any weight.

439. HELP! No energy!
One month ago I did the master cleanser. Prior to that I was on Weight Watchers, eating mostly vegetarian and feeling really good. After the MC, I decided to go raw. However, during the MC and following, my blood sugar seems to have become unstable. Years ago I had problems with hypoglycemia and I recognize the symptoms. I feel terrible. No energy and my body feels like lead...hard to function! M
