I will pm you. I think there's a fine line between habit and addiction... not sure if that line exists. Or how to tell when you've crossed it, if it does. I don't worry myself anymore with wondering if I've crossed it. It's more about improving the quality of life. I think at the end of the day, you're either happy with your behavior or you're not. You know if you'd rather things have b

I wish I'd been reading the forums here regularly the past month... Terry, I am battling alcohol addiction myself. I am only 32 but I've had a really hard time letting go of it since my late teens/early twenties. Eating raw and exercising moderately has been the best thing for me personally. I have go back and forth...having a few days sober, then a few days of drinking in between. Since M

I grew some sugarbaby watermelons and we've eaten one. It was pretty good. The others aren't big enough yet. I grew cantaloupes and we finally had one ripen enough to pick and it was AMAZINGLY good! It was the best I've ever had. We have an organic garden. ... we didn't have much success with our tomatoes, I think we crowded too many plants together and they couldn't get adequate sun.

Bryan, what a great post! I really needed that at this moment in my life. I am "struggling" with raw food right now, eating more cooked than usual, but now I kind of know why. Also, I'm allowing myself to start dealing with heavy emotional issues. I understand completely about the shield we create with heavy foods/alcohol, etc. I can so clearly see that I am doing this and have done

yeah, what is it with the "you can eat cream cheese, and sour cream, and BROILED asparagus, can't you?" And, "when are you going to start eating again?" or, "you gotta eat some real food at some point"...what is it that they don't understand about dairy, fish, heat applied to food ???? I guess they can hardly believe it. Finally, after 3 months, people at work

How does marinating it affect the nutrition? I guess it oxidizes or something?

Does anyone know if you can marinate things like eggplant, okra, and any other veggie that would be hard to eat raw! I know eggplant is from the nightshade family and has a toxin in its skin, right? I have a newly planted garden and picked out some eggplant and okra before I decided to go 100% raw. And now I don't know what I'm going to do with them.

I ditto that! It's for real - not some crazy gimmick. He really does care! I am afraid that if I hadn't checked this stuff out, I would have had very little success with raw food over the long haul. I am in the process of cleansing/detoxing right now, and I never thought I would be doing cardio and about to start a training/fitness program while doing it. I have a feeling that by being a par

Sandy, It's cool to hear someone so excited about raw food! I am new to raw for the most part and I have heard such negativity from everyone I know. It's unbelievable, because I thought people would all surely agree that eating fruits and veggies is undeniabley better raw than cooked, processed, etc. People think I'm a freak for the most part. I don't really care that they do, I just would

I made my first log last night on the bootcamp website. I am starting my master cleanse today and will try to go for about 10 days and then come off for 3 days and then it will be May 1st. Pics will be posted sometime between now and then. Good luck guys, for those of you doing this!

well, I feel i"m hooked on raw, so there won't really be any going back, at least not permanently. I just don't like the taste of SAD "comfort foods" anymore. Sometimes, if I get the urge to eat something cooked, usally I just chew it until I get the taste and spit it out. This is probably silly, but it is helping me a little. When I realize all the crap I"m chewing up is

I am going to do the master cleanse (with lemon juice and maple syrup) and I am just a little concerned with what's going to happen when I am eliminating toxins. Some people at work are just really skeptical and I am not surprised at all. It's just hard to feel like what I am doing sometimes is legitimate and healthy when everyone is so critical and negative - and they all say it's because they

I was also suprised at the taste of fresh dill. I started an organic garden recently with lots of different herbs also, and they are wonderful. This is the first time I have ever had fresh summer savory. It is a new favorite. I am really loving cilantro, especially on anything I use tomatoes with.

Does anyone know or has anyone experience numerous little pains all over your body - feels like it's kind of coming from deep within? It isn't all that painful. It's just the small, short lasting pains and then followed by an almost cold shivering sensation and then it's gone, or on to another spot on my body. I've been having them on and off, and now for a few days straight. Is this toxin in

I agree with the need to grow your own. We just built some raised garden beds and are planting an organic garden in our back yard. We picked several plants out today. I have a huge herb garden! Very excited about this. We ordered a blackberry bush and are anxiously awaiting its arrival. Also got a grape vine and a red raspberry bush, several kinds of tomatoes and peppers, other veggies, and

I'm excited about this! I will start in May also. I just don't like the photo requirements, but I guess that's a small price to pay. Good luck to everyone doing this! This is going to be awesome. I hope I lose about 25 lbs.

I would love to move away from Alabama. My boyfriend has a great job here though, and we can't just up and leave yet. But in about 10 years, we are wanting to move to California. He is about 20 years older than me and that's when he will retire hopefully. He is such a workaholic and I am so not one! I really wish we could go sooner!
