Hey there everyone! For some reason I haven't been to this site for ages, but it popped into my mind today and I wondered if it was still going. So good to see all the familiar names still here! Facebook and Instagram might be taking over from forums, but you can't beat this place for connecting with real ol' timey rawbies How are you all doing? <3

I think a lot about this subject. I think it's all about getting closer to those magical antennae that lie hidden deep within our gut. Most people go about with a ton of rubbish glued in there, muffling the signals, so they have no idea of the amazingness they're capable of. Raw food opens the door.... further cleansing and fasting takes us even further in... It's all very exciting!

Lovely shots TSM! Buckwheat lettuce - how mature do you let your buckwheat grow? I seem to remember it gets toxic at a certain point? I just planted some out yesterday with some sunflower greens too. Whenever possible I try to plant in the ground rather than in trays, to get that earth energy into it. But sometimes the slugs get there first.... I must have the healthiest slugs in the world

Tai, thank you so much for sharing these videos. I have been aware of Genesis Sunfire for a long time, but I never really paid much attention. I must admit I made my judgement based on what I was reading others say about him, and I never even bothered to watch him speak. I watched that David Wolfe video that you shared and I was immediately struck by his energy. I don't actually care whether h

I've always loved Autumn, it's one of my favourite seasons. And it feels like a beautiful time to release old habits and behaviours. I hear a lot of people saying they want to give things up at this time of year, whether that be certain foods, or just de-cluttering their home. So I created this Autumn-flavoured guided relaxation to help anyone who feels drawn to letting go of old energies

Hi blankpageblankbook I outline the steps I took in this blog: However I was in the opposite position to you; I needed to gain weight. Although, weirdly enough, I would say to do pretty much the same thing to lose weight - eat simply, combine your foods well, etc. When it comes to weight-loss, I would really stress the power of mindful eating. Pay full attention to your food, look a

Ha ha Raw Prac, perhaps so! Hey John, I am starting to see your videos pop up all over in the internet, and they're being very well-received You are waking people up! I'd love to know this: is it wise, from a health point of view, to eat a high-fruit diet in a cold climate? Here in Scotland I realise I'm compromising a lot by eating food that isn't local or seasonal. I do feel better on

Fresh, yes, people can start off thinking it's all about the product they bought. It doesn't surprise me, because we are trained by the medical industry into thinking that health means we put more stuff in (ie magic pills and potions), rather than get stuff out (ie fast, cleanse). This kind of thinking suits a money-driven market. Hopefully as they listen to more of Markus's videos they

There are a lot of raw gurus out there, and sure, they're all giving out variations of pretty much the same message (ie, eat raw food), but they all have their different styles and will appeal to different types of people. The thing I love about Markus and Cara is that they are so unashamedly flamboyant and uber-confident that they will appeal to a very wide audience (granted, they will get a

Raw Practicalist, what I picked up was that it was lots of testimonials from people around the world who had been inspired by Markus's message and improved their health on a raw diet.

Just wanted to say many thanks for sharing all your videos John, I don't usually get time to watch that much but I was away over the weekend and recorded some on my dictaphone to listen to while I was on my travels, they're excellent! I still have a lot of catching up to do, but really enjoying what I'm hearing so far!

Hi Raw Prac, That's lucky that your weight stays stable Mine is very stable now, I feel like I'm at an ideal weight. I outline the things I did in the blog I linked to. Basically eating a lot more simply and combining food well, that kind of thing.

During my first few years of going raw I lost a lot of weight, and eventually managed to gain it back. I wrote this blog about my experiences, hopefully they will be of some help to anyone going through a similar thing.

Thanks guys, good tips! Gosia, all my unused food gets composted, but at £4 (around $6) for a teeny melon, that would be pretty expensive compost lol Brome - interesting idea - I haven't noticed any ripening of melon before when I've left it, maybe I'll try to leave it a bit longer. The taping idea is a good one! Tai, yes I have no problem with juicing fruits I like to juice the peel

It's such a shame when you cut a melon in half only to find it's not really ripe enough. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be done with it, to minimise the health issues caused by consuming unripe fruit? I don't like to just throw it away. So far my thoughts are to juice or blend it, then add some extra minerals, then ferment it (ie, add some kefir or kombucha). Anyone have any o

Yes Raw Prac! I'm discovering that the more simply I eat, the easier it is for my body to use the nutrients. Hence the mono-eating, the whole foods, and gravitating towards fruits

What a great thread, thanks sodoffsocks! I love to hear how other long-term raw foodies are getting on - it's great to hear real-life examples, rather than 'famous gurus' who might sometimes let egos/marketing get in the way of revealing what is truly going on for them, health-wise. I've been here since 2003 and it is so nice that this forum has survived so long (thank you Prana and anyone el

Hi IandThou I'm vata too. If you're craving warm moist foods, I'm thinking you could try something like a raw porridge-type thing, you could use sprouted buckwheat or oat groats (bit tricky to get raw, but possible) blended up and mixed with nut milk and something sweet like dates or figs? And warmed up gently. I find herbal teas satisfy my need for warm things. Yes it's a compromise f

Ela, a good hypnotherapist will be able to help you relax deeply. Or if you can't afford that, check out some of the free guided relaxations on youtube. I'll be putting some up myself soon, if you sign up to my newsletter you'll get updates as to when they're available. Mine will link into healthy eating too which is a bonus Glad the Dr's visit went well. I make my own magnesium oil to ap

QuoteThe Sproutarian Man Yes. I soak my sprouted seeds in rejuvalic for 1 - 3 days (depends on weather) and then blend for 15 - 20 seconds. Wonderful meals and the backbone of a great raw food vegan diet that l promote. Thanks! Funny, I kind of do it the other way around, I sprout then blend then ferment. I sort of guessed that the increased surface area would facilitate easier fermen
