Similarly--has anyone experienced improvements in their eyesight from eating raw? That's one positive effect I'm hoping for!

My favorite thing about being raw is the amount of (how do I say this politely)...."elimination" that I experience. Makes me feel clean and fresh!

I just want to reiterate AGAIN that I never argued anything about DW's products or his claims about them (again, I know little about his products). My only point is that his methods are a real turn-off to me. I greatly dislike the way that he tries to instill fear on his listeners/readers by making outrageous statements (see my previous posts in this thread for examples). I NEVER intended to c

la_veronique: I never said he's the worst person in the world or the only one worth criticizing. Sure, Hitler was worse than David Wolfe. George W Bush is worse than David Wolfe. Many, many others are worse than David Wolfe, but I don't see a raw food bulletin board as an appropriate platform for such discussion. My point isn't that his products are junk (I honestly don't know enough about

Is it just me, or is David Wolfe totally full of it? Every time I hear him speak or read something he's written, I find myself rolling my eyes or even laughing how how ridiculous he is. I heard an interview he did with that Supercharge Me lady (her name is escaping me right now) and he said something about how all of our foods are treated with "pesticides, herbicides, larvacides, SUICIDES.

Thanks. I also love naturalzing.com and have made several purchases from them. I only saw dried olives on their site initially but after reading your post I found some raw black olives in water. Much appreciated

Since going raw, I've really been missing black olives. My family buys them in a jar or can from the grocery store. I'm pretty sure these are not raw. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get raw, ready-to-eat olives. I would prefer to get them from a local store (I have Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Wild Oats in my area) but I would pay to have them shipped to me if needed. Any hel

plainlydressed, I'm sorry I misunderstood you. I realize now that you're frustrated at your coworkers' response and not the mere fact of your getting sick. I was also responding to the several posts on this board and others about people who have that "WTF I eat raw I should never get sick this is crap I'm giving up!" mentality. Anyway, I can see your frustration. But it's great th

morgenjune, I have to politely disagree with you there. Just because you don't eat meat shouldn't mean other people aren't allowed to TALK about meat in front of you. Religion is very different from food preferences--even if your food preferences stem from your religion (or from socio-political standpoints, etc--you get what I mean). No one is obligated to try to make you feel more comfortable

I've never ordered anything from them, but I signed up for their "daily inspiration" emails. I signed up probably 2 weeks ago and have received about 3 emails. Not so "daily" after all. Not to mention, 1 out of the 3 emails was essentially an advertisement for their latest film. Not very inspiring. Though I guess I shouldn't really complain, considering they offer these

I don't mean to sound rude at all, and I'm really not an expert on this stuff (I just went raw a couple weeks ago) but I really don't understand why so many raw people get so upset when they get sick. As swimmer said, being raw doesn't give you any "magical power" to make you immune to illnesses. We will get sick like everyone else. Maybe not as often, and hopefully our symptoms won'

I don't know if you have Trader Joe's nearby, but their dates are raw (I don't know if they're organic or not).

I've only been raw for about a week now, but I still haven't told most of my friends. The only people that know are my boyfriend, my immediate family, and my best friend. I'm already sick of explaining it to people. The only person that hasn't made an annoying comment about it is my boyfriend. Everyone else has either been somewhat rude or totally ignorant. Really, it's not a difficult conc

I'm no expert, but: if you already blend greens in smoothies, and you don't like the taste of kale or other darker greens, I've found that 1-2 bananas mixed into the smoothie really cover up the taste of the greens, to the extent that if it weren't for the color, you might not even know the greens were in there.

Thanks for the posts. I read Victoria Boutenko's book "Green for Life" and it mentions that greens have more protein (when consumed in proper amounts) than soy products or meat or nuts. I guess I was just hoping, because I'm an avid tofu lover. Oh well!

16. tofu?
Forgive my noob-ish questions, but I'm very new to raw foods. I was wondering if tofu is considered raw. I'd assume it is, but I've noticed that of the many many recipes I've looked at, none of them include tofu. So what's the deal?

I'm doing it alone too, though I just started a couple of days ago. Everyone I've told so far has had the EXACT same response: "That is going to be really hard." And they all say it in such a way that I won't be able to do it. What a great motivator! My boyfriend offered to go raw with me, but he lives 1200 miles away, so I'm not sure if that counts or not.

i was just wondering if anyone knows where to buy lambsquarters. I have several raw recipes that call for it, but I'd never heard of it nor seen it in grocery stores (at least, not that I know of). I have "regular" grocery stores around and also Wild Oats, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's nearby. Does anyone know if I can get lambsquarters at any of these places? Thanks!
