Or possibly a dermatologist. I just read a story in Men's Health about a guy with scaly patches on his penis and he needed some dermatological medical care to fix what was wrong. I would go ASAP.

Greenie, I ahve to disagree with your rationale here -- of course the colons look pink and clean that these clinicians have seen -- do you know the colon cleansing that goes on before you have a colonoscopy or surgery dealing with the colon? Laxatives, enemas, all sorts of things to make sure that it is pink and squeaky clean. Thus, if there were mucus plaque, it would have been flushed out

Wow Rawguy2000, what a lovely sentiment. I agree with DavidMason -- eat what you want to eat. And yes Luna, we probably are that way with our kids -- God help them!

The French are wonderful with creative salads -- take advantage of this. THey do greast things with beets and citrus, or with greens and delicious sherry vingeras, etc. Do your best, but also don't stress. Enjoy the culture and the cuisine and just stay true to yourself. Have fun!

I agree with Luna on that -- some orange juice may not be enough, especially if you are still transitioning. I do fruit smoothies with a lot of different fruits to give me the boost I need without a pure sugar rush. Your planned menu sounds great, similar to my every day.

I think it is fine. I actually kind of liked the taste of the MC drink and would definitely have it as a special treat.

My parents are up for the week visiting and they brought with them the MOST delicious guava pastries from Miami (a Cuban delicacy) and I could not resist! I have loved those things my entire life and they are definitely my favorite food in the world. So, needless to say, I ate several of them (my wife even had one, which is funny because she is so careful about being 100% raw, but these things

I agree with Lisa M that the Internet has played a huge role in my raw food lifestyle. It has provided me with guidance and support (sites like this one have been indispensable). Living in New York City I have met plenty of raw foodists, but I have to say that I still get the most out of the internet.

Tashi, My philosophy is if you like him and he's fun to be with, and he likes you and thinks you are fun to be with, then go, have fun together. That's what life is all about. Enjoy the journey and don't stress on the destination. When my wife and I met (as 18 year olds) we had almost nothing in common, but boy did we hit it off. Now we are 31, married for 7 years, have 2 kids and still giggl

Coco-- Kale shouldn't be eaten raw? Do you have a citation for that? I eat a lot of raw kale and feel great. This is an interesting development. Thanks.

Purenkind: I stopped because after just one day I was a real jerk (as my wife kindly pointed out to me). I was hungry and it made me mean. We both benefitted from my going back to solid food. I am thrilled for you that it is going well, that is excellent news. And you too Luna -- power to the MC.

Purenkind -- 30 days of MC? WOW. I lasted all of one before I said forget it and gave up. My wife did the 10 day stint. I am glad it is working for you.

WOW Rawgosia -- those are amazing pictures. Except for a grocery store, I don't believe I have ever seen that much fruit in one place -- I am jealous! We are always running out of stuff -- it looks like this is a problem you don't have. I forgot to take pictures this weekend -- I will have to remember this coming one...

Best of luck to you with this. I would say my experience with raw would be very different from yours in terms of the #2 department. Something you should think about would be having smaller meals spread throughout the day so that you have time to digest each one -- I don't know how you are combining at all, but it sounds like you are doing a fairly good job of it. Plenty of greens in your salad

I like this idea. I would say Riparian, but in legal terms that refers to water rights, so I would skip that! What about Rawgeterian?

Hi Duckman, We go to the pure store all the time (and to the restaurant whenever we can). One lucky duck has some great stuff too, but seeing as we go to the store, we tend not to purchase on there. We love Sarma. Cheers,

My dose of sunshine comes from taking my daughter to school in the morning, walking to the subway (5 blocks), walking to the gym at lunch (2 blocks round trip), and walking from the subway home (another 5 blocks) if the sun is still out. It stinks! I am inside almost all day and I have no window in my office. However, my apartment has a lot of windows and so I wake up to the sun (when I don't

Thanks everyone! And thanks for the birthday wishes too. Marcos, we are going to Caravan of Dreams next week with some vegan (non-raw) friends who suggested we try it out. Their menu looks awesome. I have looked at Bonobos too, but we have yet to venture there. We did go to Quintessentials which was good, but not great in my opinion. Have a good one.

I am so embarrassed to ask this, but my wife wants to know if anyone else has experienced that their periods come a lot more frequently when Raw. She used to have a very irregular cycle, and now not only are they regularly coming, but seem to be coming much more frequently (every 21 days or so). The good news (she reports) is that for the the first time ver they are without cramps (she used to

I find that nuts or some dried fruit can satisfy any craving I come across...I buy the prepackaged nuts from eatraw.com for my office just in case someone comes around with cookies, et al and my mouth starts to water -- a coupl eof nuts later and I'm happy. Bronwyn, as a diver, back fulls just don't make sense to me anymore. I got so used to doing 1 and 1/2 twists that only doing one backward

My wife was very nice and surprised me with a VitaMix (I know some of you suggested the K-Tec, but beggars, or giftees in this case, can't be choosers). We made our smoothies in it this morning -- and there actually was a big difference. Even my wife agreed (she has been rolling her eyes at me as I pined away for a high speed blender to replace the satisfactory but not nearly strong enough one

Ally, Ironically, your explanation of the charts and my understanding of them match exactly. I think that many people on here, however, have taken the WHO recommendation (which is that a certain percentage of yur daily calories should be in the form of protein). Using that, they then use the caloric ratio charts to determine that for their overall caloric intake, they are getting at least x%

Kohlrabi I don't know whether you mean to be it, but you're being a snot-nosed jerk. If you get it so well, then explain it to us in plain English rather than referring to Ally's story. Obviously that isn't working for everyone. You have approached this in an antagonistic manner. People have responded trying to be helpful and you've been an a**. So, please, the floor is yours.
