Hi Cora & all..hope you are all well. I found this one: the other day, I had to look up the lyrics because I had no idea what it was saying..but it's peppy enough sounds like a good stairmaster piece. Thanks for the heads up on Shakira, I really like that, going to find it later on frostwire for download. Like that one! I think I'm going to add this one tonight too, this one

I decided to "celebrate" my appt. clearance on Thursday. Dr. says healing is going nicely, bruises are faded, everything is looking good. My next playdate with him is on Wednesday next week. We stop at a Chinese Buffett, and I give in and have 3 wonderful awesome plates of sin. Woke up Friday morning with a full facial rash, looks like I ran into a bee hive. Oh well. I'll li

I'm on day three after the first treatment. I had my left top and bottom scaled, and a wisdom tooth removed. Seem to be coming around nicely-nothing too bad. The scaling took 2 hours, the wisdom removal only about 20 seconds. Not bad at all. The strange salt water taste I've been carrying around for the last two or three weeks has left. The dentist said that taste was due to infecti

As far as bone rebuilding and recovery (this is extraction of a lot of teeth, I think six total are planned over time plus implants) dental wise, is there anything I can do dietary wise to help?

Yep, it really is an individual goal issue. Power, what do you know about "muscle memory" and exercise. I keep hearing this and don't know exactly what this means. I go today to start the first portion of my dental treatment - it's a long drawn out story, but I start today, and it's going to result in some significant changes for me. I'm super nervous. I feel like you do wh

funny you should mention that rab..I'm sort of the same way, internally...I have some slow circulation or something, I get cold quickly..so I make it a point to always be moving around, it makes me feel well..I know if I sit too long, I start to feel a chill.. With the exercise change, I also notice I get stiff quickly and *have* to move or it's like I seize up and feel tightness in my back..n

This is like the 20th time I've read about the China Study as a reference. Pretty controversial stuff.

Good thoughts Power, thanks! I'm wanting fat loss and tone, not necessarily definition and bulk. She mentioned about switching up weights and routines for muscle memory, and we didn't get into it deeply, so I need to be learning about this concept as well.

Yes Power, I'm deeply interested in lifting. The first thing I want off my body is my "bingo wings" you know, chicken arms, the fat from under my arms; that is for me, a real sore spot.

I'm really on the fence with this. With a body fat of 64.4% right now (ideally to start training I need to be at 22%) I need to drop another 20 pounds. I have no idea how my body would react to a powder casein product short term. I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and use it for the weight loss and then clean things up after I'm in a decent body fat zone. I'm weighing the health

So busy of a day today, too much running around...I have to look at my notes again tomorrow.. I misidentified the slow protein, she recommended casein protein. My mistake in recording the word when I used creatine<-wrong word Casein<-correct word. I'm doing a really quick review in Wikipedia and I'm just beside myself....one of the sources for this protein is cheese. That's def

Well, we really zoomed though that. Preface, this girl really knows her stuff. She took a look at my food journals and made corrections/suggestions. Apparently there are two types of proteins in foods, one is fast processing, one is slow processing. In a textbook world, my protein intake is whacked. I need to change that. My fat intake is non existent, have to change that...this exp

Naw Banana, I think it's whatever is in sight must be eaten. I have some direct experience with this, and I've seen some weird stuff..it's like the character Precious in Lord of the Rings. It's a mindset and conditioning that's off. I can understand getting upset about it, even if it's in error. Some of the children I've had experience with came from this sort of thing, famine etc., and i

Hi PL Thinking about what my fitness goals are is interesting, I don't have any well defined ones. So that turns into a question doesn't it? What are reasonable fitness goals when I am happy to dedicate two hours a day to focused gym work, maybe she can help me lay out some reasonable goals and ways to record progress. Thanks! I have no idea how to even record goals or progress oth

The last couple of days have been depressing emotionally for me. And it's just because I've been feeling so lost. I know it's just temporary and stuff, it's not like I need a psyche doc or whatever, but the overall impact of these changes and the change they've caused are just so huge. And they are keepers, my whole lifestyle has changed, and everyday I have to make a thousand unnatural to m

PS It's absolutely none of my business what others choose for themselves, really. Now, with having said that, there is no way on this green earth I'd let one of my kids go without a checkup once every six months. Gum disease like I have does not cause pain. If you were to see me in person, and really look at my teeth, you'd have no clue I have what I have. Exposed teeth, whiteness, lac

Prana nailed this one. I've had two dental appointments in the last two weeks concerning my change in diet, a checkup and follow up work. I explained my eating habits, and my dentist said the very same thing, it's no big deal, just be sure to rinse after you eat if you can't brush. Regular dental care is legions more important than any sugar/decay issues, my dentist said that the texture

You know, I think that part of my personality is that I resist following anything, so it's not an issue for me. I spent a few years studying comfortably Eastern based philosophy, really enjoyed that time in my life. I think it's also part of my personality to abandon anything that causes me friction; and on this issue, I don't want to abandon but in fact grow tall - finding my path through li

I work with weight machines. I have an issue with my tendons now from a drug I took. It can cause spontaneous rupture. I need professional guidance on how to work the machines so I don't hurt myself. The other question assumes something I'm not even capable of doing although I understand your intent. Sorry but I can't think of a way to answer it. Maybe you could ask me another way just

I don't know where I fall in the belief system of "the power of prayer/meditation" or whatever..but I have been you know...really focused internally on all this..and I have something amazing to share. I have an appointment with a nutritionist/trainer/sports medicine specialist on Monday at noon. I called only to see if I could get some help with the cable machines I use, some dire

Good morning. I'm going to take ten days off topics and commit them to a deeper focus; and this might sound silly, but I am feeling so well... What I'm going to do is keep my routine of morning/evening gym time. I stopped by a local gym that is designed for serious bodybuilders. The building itself is open twenty four hours a day, to get in one needs to put a security code in on a keypad t

Thanks for the conversation again guys. I need to reread the responses later and follow up but wanted a quick note of appreciation for today's chatter, I really do appreciate it-I don't discuss any of this with my family or friends, I'm sort of reserved in face to face life, a much better listener than a talker *most of the time*- but I really don't talk about me me me me-I like taking care

Hi Coco! I just went and put a sign on my fridge: "When are you ever going to learn?" I heard that a lot growing up. I think part of my sadness is that I'm a scratch cook person, and a really awesome one if I may say so, it's one of my major hobbies. I still cook for my family, and it's all so you know...groovy. And I love the way that food tastes, and I wish I could hav

Yes, Banana, I have experienced profit medicine a few times in my life- and with issues with my children, I agree completely. I believe it is partially due to a CYA legal happy society at large, and also pure profit, finding a dedicated healthcare for health that works for an individual comfort zone can be a tough one... A short note on my posting style- Ever see someone play a piano super

Oh hi Banana, just saw your post as I reloaded...naw, no slamming from me, it's a lack of details on my part that has caused your questions, so sorry for that..here.. I had a primary Dr....we will call her Dr. Jones, a basic PH'd degree/hospital style..she's actually a OB/GYN with a practice at a large hospital. They are the ones that did the Cipro. And I did not like the office, the sta
