Raw veganism is good for preventing disease but another key to longevity (besides genetics) is regularly fasting.

I buy almonds from a farmer's market that say "raw unpasteurized" on the label but nowhere does it say if they are organic or not. Considering how hard it is to find raw almonds in the US I suppose I will just have to live with it!

I think that Mars will be a novelty much like the moon. We will go there once, maybe a handful of times at the most, at enormous cost to everyone, and then forgotten.

To me eating mung bean sprouts reminds me alot of eating raw corn which i love. Alot of times I will mix lentil sprouts with sunflower seed sprouts. It's too bad that peas are most often sold as "spli

One way to do it is the following: When you're craving something like pasta, think of another cooked grain product that you really do not want, such as puffed wheat cereal or weetabix or crackers or what have you, and then remember that all these cooked wheat products are really basically very similar if you think about it. Then discard the entire group.

To get the most benefit from raw onion, should it be eaten immediately after cutting, or should it as I have heard let sit for a half hour to an hour for reasons that have to do with sulforaphane?

One workaround is to buy frozen strawberries rather than fresh, since pesticide residues have been found to be much lower. Organic for strawberries is of course always still best.

Whatever happened to more modest raw food leaders that could at least be counted on to not actually slip? It's this fruitarian/811 stuff that is so hard to stay with. It's much easier just to be full from sprouts and sprouted nuts and leave the fruits and leafy greens as secondary foods, for a long time, until you're mature enough to handle what it's like to be a long-term raw foodist.

Or will it make you sick like the large beans can? Also is it safe to sprout legumes and pulses you can buy at an Indian grocery?
