ok, so it's only one hair, i was being silly and pulling out some gray hairs and noticed that one of my gray hairs was definitely growing back brown. i've only been raw for a little over 2 months have any of you all had your hair grow back your natural color? or, have you had any other aging processes reversed? it's not so much the hair but the idea that this could mean that my body's functioni

troy, Actually you have a point because in the kind of situation i'm talking about, say in a village where people are poor, they'd appreciate you bringing food! but in general, hospitality is much more important in most other cultures than here and the hosts get much more bent out of shape if you won't eat their food, here, while people can be a pain, by in large, people feel that your food is yo

Troy and all, I haven't travelled since being raw. Also, after 3 years of being strict with my diet for normal people's standards I went to colombia for 4 months and gave up all of my dietary restrictions. At first all went well, i improved a lot anyway because of the TOTAL lack of stress and the climate but eventually i had to work, i went to bogota where it's cold and rainy and it took me 2 mo

well that's an idea (the beans). i believe what piano gal says about the amount of fat but i'm hypoglycemic plus have candida issues BUT i had banana slices on my pecan and blueberry breakfast this morning and it was GOOD. in other words i'm having a hard time with stage 1.5, much less stage one. we shall see. Hi, why can't it just be that different diets work for different people, as gabriel cousens says in the green rainbow diet book (different metabolic types). I don't know what 80 10 10 is but i imagine that some people thrive on a low fat diet and others on a low carb diet. why does it have to be one or the other? i suspect i'd do better on the green rainbow diet because i have fungus issues...

thanks for the kind email mtnkathy. am off the wagon at moment, not because of food cravings but because i have to turn in my final grades tomorrow scrub down entire house then get on a plane, cannot run to the store, and am too exhausted to do this without espresso. of course all i had for cooked food was a tofu scramble for breakfast, nothing radical...will still have my salad for dinner...Leil

it is sad to hear this. they must have a lot of monocrops (sugar, pineapple). i was just reading about japanese plantation workers at the turn of the century. Pretty harsh, and never mind the fate of the Hawaiians... In many cases you can gauge how much the people have been exploited by how biodiverse the available produce is. Large monocrops equal mass exploitation. Take this example, costa rica

hi jenny, i'm in brooklyn. I also recently became raw but i'm determined to stick with at least 80% raw for the long term. i have to, for health reasons. i will be going away for a month but i would love to EAT with you sometime. i have been wanting to go to quintessence but haven't found anyone to go with. i went out with a friend the other day and he compromised by going to a vegan place. ps.

I just got, "raw foods for busy people" by jordan Maerin, in the mail and while i haven't tried the recipes yet, i read it and it looks like it will be a lifesaver. it simplifies recipes. i live the birgitte mars book but i couldn't eat like that every day. i'm not well enough to spend my time preparing food. seriously check it out. leila

hi, your answers were helpful. I know that there's no way to know how long it will take me to heal. In fact, it helps to hear about ups AND downs. For all you other sick people, have you tried live blood analysis? A month ago i went to a clinical nutritionist that explained my longer term health problems (prelyme) when no one else has. I think i have had candida problems to varying extents

thanks. yes i check my ph...of course i'm often still acid. i havent been raw long. i was just curious after reading a long thread of healing stories, how long they all took. i wonder how many give up first. for instance, if someone out there with lyme (OR CFS or fibromyalgia) said it took 2 years but they got better, that'd be an incentive to keep on and on. so far i've heard success stories wit

Hi, I read the thread about 'miracles' and like ther rest of you have read about people being cured of all sorts of things on a rawvegan diet. On the threads i read on this list people didn't mention how long this took them. I have Lyme disease and have read of very few people being cured of lyme with raw foods. those that have said that it took, 3 months, four months, six months and a year. Al
