I've read ketchup has more bug parts than any other "food"! Yet another reason to stay away from processed crap. :-)

One of many sharon fruit vendors at my local farmer's market (we have an abundance in SoCal) told me the black spots are from the outer fruits on the tree where the sun has hit them excessively. They're essentially sunburns and are completely safe to eat. :-)

LOL, I don't know what that is, but the big grin you left lets me think it was complimentary.

Nope, from the U.S. However, I'll be moving to the UK soon; hopefully by the end of next year. I'm actually seriously considering moving to Glasgow (I have lots of friends there thus my being hip to your local jive...heh). I'm in the process of obtaining dual Italian citizenship through ancestry which will make me also an EU citizen and able to live, work, etc. in the UK legally, as well as eligi

I've been 100% raw for 10+ years and I say call youself whatever the heck you want whenever the heck you want! Do you have to wait five years after your wedding to call youself married; five years after embracing Islam to call youself a Muslim; five years after turning 13 to call youself a teenager? "Bah," I say! :-D

Aye, I always make it up north to your glorious country, too. Was in Glasgow and Edinburgh for five days in August; and yes, it was pissing it down then. :-) Well you'll just have to come visit us here in L.A. and soak up some of our rays. In fact, my dear Weegie friend arrives for a 10-day visit next week! Let me ask you, do you find it rough being raw in Scotland? I've yet to find a lot of r

One word: Purslane. From wikipedia: Purslane contains more omega-3 fatty acids (alpha-linolenic acid in particular[4]) than any other leafy vegetable plant. Simopoulos states that Purslane has 0.01 mg/g of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). This is an extraordinary amount of EPA for land-based vegetable sources. EPA is an Omega-3 fatty acid found mostly in fish, some algae, and flax seeds.[5] It

Where in the UK are you, powerlifer? I holiday every summer in London (mostly) and it's always sunny and gorgeous (with the occasional light shower, of course). You must be up north where the weather isn't as cooperative. :-)

banana who I'd have to give that award to San Diego. I was living down there when I went raw and moved to L.A. a few years after. I still miss Jimbo's (small HFS chain), Henry's, the Hillcrest farmers market (they had dragon fruit!) and best of all, the Ocean Beach Co-op, which not only had a wide variety of raw food items and organic produce but was also entirely vegetarian; a whole two-story sh

Might want to read up on this guy, Kevin Trudeau. Here's a link to his wikipedia page: I don't think you're going to enjoy his book much.

What do you experts out there know about their products? They claim to be (non-certified) organic and 100% raw, but after nine years raw I've found a lot of people make claims that aren't entirely truthful. I used their nectar in place of maple syrup on a recent Master Cleanse and did alright with it. I wanted to experiment with some of their other stuff. Any thoughts?

I'm jealous! I have to pay $7 for one punnet of mulberries at my farmer's market; $10 for the Persian ones! :-O

Oh boo hoo, we don't get as much lycopene by not cooking our tomatoes. Newsflash SAD eaters: We're raw! Our entire diet is anti-oxidant. So far this seems like the best and almost only argument against a raw diet the SADders have been able to come up with.

I just discovered chia seeds myself, but I'm loving them! I keep a bowl of the gel in the fridge and eat a couple of spoonfuls before I go on my morning run every day. I love the slimy texture, but I'm weird like that...haha.
