The Hachiya persimmons have always tasted toxic to me, even when there really soft and I eat them towards the top of the hachiya it tastes bad (toxic). I've never had a good Hachiya persimmon, but the Fuyu persimmons are absolutely fantastic to eat.

I use to be an avid runner, I competed in 3 marathons and 2 half-marathons in Salt Lake City. In a week I'd run 30-37 miles depending on the route & difficulty. It started to take it's toll on me, even after being raw for almost 9 years (9th year in April). I gave up running because it was too hard on my knees (especially my right knee). It was really hard to give up something I lo

Yeah, I shop at a regular supermarket now because they get everything produce wise (Organic of course) that Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Fresh Harvest and Good Earth gets and at cheaper prices. In fact, I ask for something and they'll get it with no questions ask but with people at WF they give me the funny look/stare. It's too bad because I always wanted to support the stores I've

I use a tablespoon a week of Dulse seaweed now. Some people don't believe in certain foods or herbs but Dulse really helped me and not having to take Armour is a real blessing...

Yeah, it's Frontiercoop.com and like I said before I know Organic is more costly but again it has to be pure or it wouldn't have the USDA Organic backing/label.

There's two places I will get my herbs from and they are: www.starwest-botanicals.com & www.frontiercoop.com must be doing something because I can't get the link to show I mostly use frontier herbs and you can order the regular herbs (cheaper/cost less) or organic herbs. I always get Organic because I don't have to worry about the added stuff in Dulse or Kelp seaweed thats c

Your TSH is a little high, my Doc use to wig out/force me on Meds when my TSH was only 1.746 and the normal range is between .350 - 3.00 level. I started eating Dulse seaweed and my blood level for TSH is now .856. I could be wrong but your Doc sure is nice to let you off @ a 4. level TSH Just search the net for the TSH range...

That's killer, I'm an avid cyclist and would use that bicycle washing machine all the time, especially in the winter months (can't ride when there's 3 feet of snow on the roads *boo-hoo*).

You have to exercise!!!! And that's the answer!!! Even people on rawfoods can and will get fat if they don't do something about it.

It would be nice but as someone already mentioned the cost and price would hinder the experience. In fact, that's a major complaint (a complaint not from us raw-peeps but from the SAD or I should say the commoners) in the raw food cafes/restaurants I’ve been to (9 total) is the cost. $15 dollars for a small salad or a raw burrito doesn't go well for the commoners'. Heck, when I’m at th

Kind of off topic but the IMHO the best thing you can buy for cheap is bananas. Every store I've been into will sell ripened bananas for cheap. Usually title trimmer bananas or bake bananas. Again, every store I've been to has this...

When my mom would make banana nut bread I couln't wait for the bread to bake so I'd eat the bater. A lot of people seem to like crushing saltine crackers with soups or chili. So far, I've already read about the Ketchup with Mac & Cheese and Eggs. A friend would use ketchup for his chili and tacos (didn't matter the kind of taco either)...

Food/fruit I eat now, like I mentioned before I’ll eat the banana rind and when eating an apple I'll eat the skin first all the way around then eat the rest. I do this to make sure I chew the skin real well (we all know the skin has more if not most of the nutrients). Back to the ramen noodles, back in the starving student days not only was eating the noodles right out of the package good bu

No - no, you can over do it even on rawfoods. That's why you hear a lot people giving up this lifestyle because they've made themselves sick or worse on rawfoods because of the poor choice of foods. 5 avocados, tons of nuts and some fruit will (I don't care who you are) eventually play havoc on you. There's even variances among the different raw approaches, Douglas G. consumes an average

SAD: Standard American Diet There are a lot of factors that go into this. Some of us believe that these numbers that we're supposed to abide by from the FDA has been created for people who eat SAD. If I where to eat cooked food again and try to reach those FDA standard's I'd be a stuffed pig (no pun intended). Seriously I was just messing around with Fitday and plug a bunch of regular food

There's two (2) sides to this. Actually there's two (2) sides to everything in rawfoods. 2 sides??? I'm mean many sides.... Anyways, some believe that us humans weren't intended to eat grains and others say the opposite. Well most grains sprout, so in a sense grains are sprouts. Like kamut, quinoa, buckwheat, kamut, black eyed peas and the such....... I'll occasionally eat sprouted grains b
