I briefly looked in to food combining but it looks complicated! I have also tried to find info on the 80 20 20 diet but my problem is that I don;t know which foods are carbs, proteins or fats. Does anyone have a list of something like that? I know eating at night is a bad habit, which I'm trying to wean myself off. What are the essentials of food combining?

Hi all, I have been 100% raw (including raw fish) for about three months now. I have lost a little weight but was expecting to lose more. I'm 5'6" and weigh around 110 lbs, which is fine but I think my ideal weight is about 5 lbs lighter. Also, I often feel bloated in the mornings and my stomach is sometimes distended. I don't normally eat much during the day but do eat at night. I'm sti

We are all on a journey. Every day I think about the person I know I am; the person that does yoga every day, that writes and creates, the person that eats sustainable living foods. I, too, should watch less TV, maybe laugh more and eat before midnight. We all have challenges. What's important is that we support one another, raw, vegan, SAD, what have you.

Awesome to know! My chickpeas are soaking as we speak but I will give the zucchini recipe a try too. I bet it's easier on the digestion as well. Speaking of which, what does everyone here think of hydro colon therapy, ie colonics? I've heard great things from a colleague of mire but I'm a little afraid...!

Maybe think about Australia? There is a large South African population in Australia and there are plenty of places (and space!) on the north eastern coast that would be perfect for a raw family; plenty of locally grown fruit and veg, lots of sun etc. Alternatively, I hear Hawaii is great. I'ver never been but there is a large raw community there.

Good to know Suncloud. Also, how many is too many nuts, in your opinion? Several handfuls a day is okay?

What do you guys eat every day? I keep a strange schedule... I actually am co-owner of a restaurant in Boston (go figure!) and end up eating at weird hours. For me, sprouts, seaweed, avocados and fruit have been mostly "it" for the last month. Still waiting for the glow...

Yeah, kelp can get gummy! In terms of amount, we're talking about 5 sheets of nori and a healthy portion of hijiki or wakame every day. Too much?!

Hi all, Interested to know what you thing of sea vegetables and how often you incorporate them in to your diets. I am relatively new to raw and right now my diet consists primarily of seaweed! I am trying to eat more leafy greens as you have suggested but I wonder how much seaweed everyone eats. Also, how long do people soak chickpeas before sprouting them for raw hummus? Thanks so much,

Trive, Thanks for the response. I guess it's all trial and error. I waiting to "get the glow" so to speak. I have to ask you, are your favorite raw vegans yours? Those miniatures are adorable!! I'm a huge animal lover, which makes sense for this lifestyle.

This is true, Banana Who! I actually live in Boston these days but am still an Aussie at heart! Cyclopsicle: thanks for the word about greens. I haven't eaten any leafy greens since going raw :-(. One of my problems, I think, is that I've gotten into the habit of eating only once a day, usually after 6pm. I am going to try to transition into eating breakfast but habits are tough to break...

Hi all, This forum is such a relief... I've been exclusively raw for three weeks now (with the exception of vegemite which I'm weaning myself off of). My diet before wasn't horrible and I've been conscious of my eating for some time now. I did a stint of macrobiotics a few years back, and was also raw for about a month a few years ago; so I'm not a total newbie. I've been eating mostly seawe
