I've had the same reaction to nuts lately and I thought something was wrong with me! I've been eating around 90% raw for almost 2 months now. I totally overdid the nuts as well and then almost overnight the mere thought of nuts makes me sick and I experience an awful sensation in my mouth-just thinking about them! I tolerate and enjoy them when made into a pate or something where they are mixed

I live in Los Angles (Los Feliz) and just wanted to make a correction to Shaine's posting for Nature Mart. It's actually on Hillhurst Ave about 3 blocks east of Vermont Ave. I really like this little store-though of course it is a bit pricey. I'm not sure where in LA you are staying but if you are closer to the East side (Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silverlake, etc) there is a Leaf cafe on Franklin

I bring an insulated bag to work with a little ice pack in it and usually pack a salad, some nuts, and lots of fruit- simple!

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in waaaaaaaay too long and I feel awful about it! I've been reading all of your posts but haven't had the time nor the energy to post my own... I have been extremely tired lately. Like to the point where I feel I have narcolepsy (slightly exaggerated)! I can't figure it out. Last time I was raw I had so much energy I couldn't sleep and for the last week I'd

I have been needing to purchase a professional grade blender for some time now as I too have recently begun eating a raw diet (after falling off the wagon 1 year ago). My budget has kept me from buying a nice one so I am eager to check out theblindguru. Thanks for the post!

Hey everyone! Once again, I'm sorry I haven't been posting. Things are so crazy-I have not stopped in days and am running on about 4 hours of sleep I get each night. But doing well! Lots of energy and am busy in GOOD ways. I am leaving today to camp until Tuesday so I won't be posting until then. I'm sure I'll be having a veggie burger or 2 on the campfire but other than that I plan on s

Hey everyone! Apologies for being MIA the last few days. My (ex)boyfriend came to move all of his stuff out of our place and my best friend moved all of her stuff IN (a 14 ft truck worth of stuff-yikes!) so I have been insane since last Thursday. I did manage to get my ex to eat 1 day 100% raw with me and by that night he said he felt as if he was "on crack"! He couldn't sleep and

Hello all! Birch-Actually, I soaked my oat groats for about 10 hours and then only ate about half so I left the remainder in a tiny bit of water for 2 more days and still found them to be a nice consistency-not too soft and not too crunchy! Rawdancer- I am so sorry to hear you are feeling down. I too have battled in the past with serious depression. Keep in mind all of the support that yo

Hi everyone! Khale-Thank you for the warm welcome. You are in my thoughts as I hope you continue healing... Rawdancer- You are to be admired! Congratulations on your decision to love yourself and find health. You deserve it! Yesterday was my day to spend with friends and go out for food and drinks. I managed to eat really well considering we ate out for both lunch and dinner. I did h

Dewey and Pakd4fun: Thank you both so much for the warm welcome! ASHCAT!!!!! Do you live in Echo Park as in Echo Park/SilverLake Los Angeles (you mentioned Echo Park Farmer's Market)? We're neighbors! I live in Thai Town on the edge of Los Feliz! And in regards to your posting about the social drinking: That is a HUGE part of my life. All of my friends practically live at The Cha Cha Lou

Hello all! As prompted by my beautiful Aunt, Pakd4fun, I too would like to join in this wonderful raw journey! I realize I am a bit behind everyone, however if you don't mind, I certainly don't! I am a 26 year old female who was, about a year ago 98% raw for about 4 months and an avid yoga participant. In the last 6 months to a year I fell off the proverbial raw wagon and haven't been able to
